AROUND TOWN everything we can to care for and protect our patients and their families during their most vulnerable times. We want to continue providing the safest environment possible for them and for our healthcare team to further our mission of improving the health of the community,” says Shane Cerone, St. Luke’s Hospital president and chief executive officer. This St. Luke's decision was reinforced due to variants of the virus surging in southern Missouri and other parts of the state. J. William Campbell, MD, infectious diseases and medical director of St. Luke’s Medical Group, says, “We must all continue to do our part and take advantage of our access to the COVID-19 vaccine, a very safe and effective advancement in the fight against this virus, to help bring an end to the pandemic.”

Advisory Committee, which is funded through two components of the St. Louis Community Foundation: the COVID19 Regional Response Fund and the Black-Led Nonprofit and Community Fund supported by Facebook, Inc. Diaper Bank representatives will use the grant to provide diaper and period supplies to the St. Louis area. Founded in 2014, the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank collects, stores and distributes 250,000 free diapers per month to struggling families through a network of 56 community, nonprofit, educational and health care partners serving low-income women and children. To date, more than 5.1 million diapers have been distributed in St. Louis including nearly 900,000 diapers during the height of the pandemic. The Diaper Bank offers both emergency and longterm diaper distribution. This service is a much-needed resource since government programs – including food stamps and WIC – don’t provide funding for diapers. Diapers cannot be obtained with food stamps and are classified with cigarettes, alcohol and pet food as disallowed purchases.

“Now, companies are looking for innovative people, people with intuition, people with problem-solving ability, people who can work within a team, and people who have courage and curiosity in their conversations,” she says. With a representation of eight different countries, Barat provides the student body with a “true global experience,” as Debby says. International students have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to live and learn with American classmates in a safe and supportive environment as they prepare for the next step. While the academy now has 85 students, they aim to double that number. 636.300.5555 BaratAcademy.org

CRACKS, SAGS OR LEAKS CAN CONSULT WITH A COMPANY WHOSE TEAM HAS FIXED THOSE TYPES OF PROBLEMS SINCE 1986. Woods Basement Systems team members are celebrating the company’s 35th anniversary throughout August. Woods’ professionals serve Missouri and Illinois residents for basement, crawl space and foundation solutions. They especially address sagging floors, waterproofing homes, pool deck leveling/lifting, sump pump issues or leaky basements. “Giving homeowners and customers peace of mind is always our goal,” says Dave Thompson, Woods director of marketing. “It’s a blessing customers recommend us to neighbors because we’re known for

doing the right work and having the best products. In fact, we have unique patented systems designed for basements.” He says customer surveys indicate they’re impressed with the thoroughness of Woods’ professionals in explaining what they’ll do for projects, as well as answering all questions during pre- and post- walkthroughs. Woods Basement Systems owners Anna Lee and Rick Woods.

“Our philosophy is that we’re helping a family in a home, not just putting in a sump pump. Our excellent work solutions show customers they made the right decision to work with us. It’s like our family serving other families,” Dave adds. WOODS BASEMENT SYSTEMS SERVICES INCLUDE: + Basement Waterproofing + Foundation Repair + Concrete Lifting/Leveling + Crawl Space Repair + Basement Finishing + Commercial Foundations + Egress Windows + Sump Pump Systems With Battery Backup Dave says he, and the second generation management with owners Rick and Anna Lee Woods, are quick to point toward the 200-plus employee team as the key to successful project deliveries. “We’ve received BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics six different years. Rick always says it’s due to the dedication and expertise of our team, which demonstrates why people can trust our work,” he explains. The company’s projects come with a life-of-the-structure warranty, which Dave says is transferable. They also work through two national dealer networks, based on top-performance certifications associated with integrity. Recently, Dave says they’ve been installing new footing piers to encircle horseshoe-shaped, college football stadiums in four states.
