There is something undeniably powerful about a community built by strong women, and this month we are celebrating exactly that. Welcome to The Ladies Issue, a tribute to the women who are shaping Celina with grace, grit, style, and just the right amount of sass.

This issue highlights the women who are doing more than participating in the community. They are leading it. From our feature on Ladies in Business, an inspiring group of Celina’s true movers and shakers, you will meet women who are redefining success while lifting others along the way. They are fearless in the boardroom, generous in the community, and still manage to make it all look effortless. We are still trying to figure out how they do that.
We are also incredibly proud to spotlight three upcoming Celina elementary schools that will carry the names of strong local women. What a beautiful reminder that the next generation of girls will walk through hallways inspired by women who proved leadership, heart, and determination truly matter. That legacy is something worth celebrating.
And because this is Celina, we are not stopping there. In this issue, you will also find a look at the women bringing style and strategy to mahjong tables, the women who shine just as brightly under the rodeo lights, and the heart behind Girls United Ministries, a mission rooted in lifting up young girls and reminding them just how strong and unstoppable they really are.
This edition is feminine without being fragile, gracious without being quiet, and powerful without apology. It is about women who support one another, lead boldly, and show up every single day ready to make an impact.
So here is to the ladies of Celina. Confident, compassionate, determined, and completely unstoppable. This issue is for you.
With admiration and a little attitude,

As we all know, Celina is growing by leaps and bounds. This growth will continue for years to come and as a result, builders selling new construction will be big competition for the pre-owned home sellers. I did a deep dive to get an idea of what percentage of the competition is new and saw that it was a whopping 66%. Yes, every 2 out of 3 homes for sale here are new. You may wonder what this means for the pre-owned sellers, if anything.
In my experience with buyers, most tend to lean toward purchasing new construction for several reasons. I have found that they like the idea of being the first owner. Some of my clients have contracted early enough in the process of building to make their personal selections on a preferred color palette including flooring, brick, tile, plus light and plumbing fixtures. However, I have found an even bigger driver for picking new are the builder incentives. They historically offer builder credit towards selections, money for buying down the mortgage interest rate, and even pay some if not all of the closing costs. These are perks that resales can’t match.
So what does this mean for those that want to sell their existing home? First, not every buyer wants new because they are aware of the expense for landscaping, window treatments, swimming pools, and other desirable additions homeowners make to improve a property. However, in order to truly compete with tsunami of new homes available it is critical that their home is move in ready. The three most important projects are paint, roof, and kitchen upgrades. Curb appeal and flooring are critical, as well. The stakes are high so working with an experienced agent that specializes in staging is also an added necessity. After all, most of your competition is a model home. Make no mistake, builders are pulling out all stops. Choosing a Realtor that understands your competition, provides next level marketing, and has a proven track record will be the difference between selling or sitting on the market. We are here to help set you up for success.

Omni PGA Frisco Delivers Pools, Golf Adventures, Glowing Nights, and Nonstop Family Fun

In Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa, summer unfolds as a carefully curated blend of relaxation and energy, designed with families in mind. A back-to-back Travel + Leisure World’s Best Award winner in 2024 and 2025, the resort has quickly become one of North Texas’s most dynamic destinations for multigenerational travel.
From the moment guests arrive, the tone is set for an easy, immersive getaway. Four expansive pools anchor the daytime experience, including resort-style pools with splash pads and cabanas ideal for families. While kids stay entertained poolside, adults can retreat to the serene sixth-floor adultsonly pool or recharge at Mokara Spa. With 13 dining venues ranging from casual bites to elevated cuisine, even the pickiest eaters find something to love.
“Summer here is about giving families the space to connect while offering something new around every corner,” says Monica Smiley, Director of Marketing, Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa. Monica adds that the goal is to create “a destination where every member of the family feels like the experience was designed just for them.”

That philosophy shines through in the resort’s summer programming, which runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Weekends transform the PGA District into a lively hub of activity, beginning with Friday Night Movies under the stars. Saturdays bring the standout Summer of Glow Drone Show, where synchronized lights dance across the Texas sky in a vibrant, choreographed display.
Weekend evenings wind down with complimentary s’mores around the terrace fire pits, while younger guests get hands-on with cookie decorating workshops. “It’s those small, shared moments that families remember long after the trip ends,” shares Monica.
The fun continues poolside, where a tiki bar pop-up serves tropical-inspired cocktails, mocktails, and frozen treats perfect for cooling off under the Texas sun. This season also introduces the Summer Scoop, a sweet perk that gives registered guests with this package unlimited complimentary ice cream throughout their stay. Available for stays from May 25 through September 7, 2026, the offering is part of the resort’s Signature Summer Hotel Package.

Summer Highlights at Omni PGA Frisco Summer of Glow lights up weekends with drone shows, neon mini golf, fire pits, and spa treatments. The Summer Scoop Package adds unlimited ice cream at select outlets all stay long. Fourth of July brings fireworks, live music, movies, pool parties, kids’ activities, and rooftop viewing, creating a full lineup of festive, family friendly experiences.
Golf remains at the heart of the experience. Fields Ranch East, designed by Gil Hanse, offers a championship-level challenge that will host the 2027 PGA Championship, while Fields Ranch West, by Beau Welling, provides a more playful and approachable round.
Beyond traditional play, the resort reimagines golf as family-friendly entertainment. The Swing, a lighted 10-hole par-3 course, invites evening rounds, while The Dance Floor, a two-acre putting green, pairs casual competition with ice cream and social energy. Nearby, the PGA District buzzes with dining, retail, and interactive experiences, including Lounge by Topgolf and the PGA of America Coaching Center.
Accommodations are equally thoughtful, with more than 500 guest rooms and private ranch houses offering ample space for families to unwind. Whether it’s a quick weekend escape or an extended stay, the resort balances luxury with comfort in a way that feels effortless.
Holiday weekends elevate the experience even further. Over the Fourth of July, guests can enjoy fireworks on the fairway, live music, pool parties, and a rooftop viewing experience, all included for resort guests.
“At the end of the day, we want families to leave feeling like they discovered something special together,” says Monica. At Omni PGA Frisco, summer isn’t just a season. It’s a shared experience, filled with light, flavor, and connection.

The Classic Tile Game Is Bringing Communities Together
“What was once considered a quiet pastime reserved for older generations has found new life across the region, transforming into one of the most unexpected social trends in communities from Frisco to Texoma.”
On any given weeknight, the familiar click of tiles echoes through coffee shops, country clubs, and living rooms alike. What was once considered a quiet pastime reserved for older generations has found new life across the region, transforming into one of the most unexpected social trends in communities from Frisco to Texoma.
Mahjong is having a moment, and in North Texas, that moment has turned into a movement.
The centuries-old Chinese tile game has deep cultural roots, historically played within Asian and Jewish communities as a way to gather, connect, and pass down tradition. Today, that same sense of connection is fueling a powerful resurgence, but with a broader, more diverse audience.
Across the U.S., interest in mahjong has surged in recent years, with a growing number of people seeking out lessons, social groups, and local events. What was once learned at home is now

being rediscovered in social settings, where newcomers are eager to pull up a chair and learn the game.
In Celina, Frisco, and throughout North DFW, mahjong has moved far beyond kitchen tables. Informal groups are forming in neighborhoods, with weekly games hosted in homes, clubhouses, and community spaces. Social media groups and word-of-mouth have helped fuel the growth, connecting players of all skill levels.
Local venues are also embracing the trend. Mahjong nights are popping up at wineries, including Valley Vines, and at restaurants, such as The Wick in Celina, and even boutiques, like Proper Gifts & Decor in Sherman. Whether it is a casual open play or a guided lesson for beginners, the format is approachable and social.
The appeal is simple: four players, a table, and a shared experience that encourages conversation as much as competition.
Perhaps the most surprising element of mahjong’s rise is who is playing.
Once associated with older generations, the game is now drawing in younger players, particularly women and young professionals looking for meaningful ways to connect offline. Mahjong nights have become a go-to for girls’ nights, neighborhood meet ups, and even networking events.
In fast-growing communities like Celina and Frisco, where many residents are new to the area, the game has become an easy way to build friendships. Open play groups welcome beginners, creating an inclusive and engaging environment.
Visit Facebook @Mahjong Prosper/ Frisco/Celina, where you will find local Mahjong Mentors, open play opportunities, special events, tournaments, and more!
It is not uncommon for players to arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
The resurgence of mahjong reflects something deeper than a passing trend. In a digital-first world, people are craving tactile, face-to-face interaction. Mahjong delivers exactly that.
The game requires focus, strategy, and a bit of luck, but its real draw lies in its rhythm. The shuffle of tiles, the anticipation of a winning hand, and the shared laughter around the table create an experience that feels both nostalgic and new.
In North Texas, where community connection is a defining part of the lifestyle, mahjong fits naturally into the social landscape. It offers a reason to gather, slow down, and be present.
What sets mahjong apart from other social fads is its staying power. It is not just entertainment. It is tradition, strategy, and connection wrapped into one.
Across the area, the game has transitioned from a niche activity into a growing cultural staple, attracting players of all ages and backgrounds. From beginners learning the rules for the first time to seasoned players hosting weekly games, mahjong is building something lasting.
And as more North Texans pull up a chair and pick up a tile, one thing is clear: this is more than a comeback.
It is a revival rooted in community, connection, and the simple joy of sitting down together.

“What sets mahjong apart from other social fads is its staying power. It is not just entertainment. It is tradition, strategy, and connection wrapped into one.”

“I wanted to get back to the roots of family medicine by creating a warm, home-like environment where patients feel heard and truly cared for.”
SAGEWOOD PRIMARY CARE

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START IT.
Sagewood Primary Care is a patient-focused, physician-owned family medicine clinic. I started Sagewood Primary Care with the intention of changing how patients interact with their primary care physician. The healthcare system has become very cold and sterile, with patients often treated like a number and rushed through 10-minute appointments to drive revenue. It was time for a change. I wanted to get back to the roots of family medicine by creating a warm, home-like environment where patients feel heard and truly cared for.
WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST REWARDING MOMENTS IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR?
Building relationships with patients and their families has been incredibly rewarding. Being able to care for families through every stage of life is something I truly value.
WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING, HOW DO YOU ENJOY SPENDING YOUR TIME?
I have two little girls, so spending time with them brings me so much joy. As a family, we love taking our Jeeps off-roading and going camping.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER WOMEN STARTING OR GROWING A BUSINESS?
There is never going to be the perfect time to start a business or take the next step, so take the leap of faith. Do it scared, do it unprepared, and be bold. It is worth the risk.

“We love partnering with teams and communities to provide quality products that show their team spirit.”

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START IT.
We started with cheer bows and gifts, but quickly expanded into custom apparel, accessories, and, more recently, mum supplies. We love partnering with teams and communities to provide quality products that show their team spirit.
This business began small out of my home while I was working a corporate job, and it quickly took off. I really enjoyed working with people and seeing their reactions to a truly custom product, so I decided to take a leap and go all in.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT SERVING THE CELINA COMMUNITY?
Even with all the growth, Celina still has a small-town feel, and the people here truly show strong support for their community, which is amazing.
WHO HAS BEEN A MENTOR OR INFLUENCE IN YOUR JOURNEY?
I’ve had a lot of friends, partners, and supporters along the way, which I’m very grateful for. Having a small business isn’t easy, but when you have other business owners who want to see you succeed and are willing to invest time in your journey, it’s amazing.
Stacia with My Vinyl Craft in McKinney has been that for me. We collaborate, talk through plans and ideas, and push each other forward. She’s great.
WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING, HOW DO YOU ENJOY SPENDING YOUR TIME?
I focus that time on family. I have two older kids, and we are really close, so dinners, games, going out, and just being together are all really important to me. UnlimitedSpirit.com
“It has been so rewarding for me and my team to watch our clients grow up and become adults, and many of them still stop by to visit us.”
THE PIN CUSHION

WHAT SPARKED THE IDEA FOR YOUR BUSINESS, AND HOW DID IT COME TO LIFE?
The Pin Cushion is a family-friendly body piercing studio with an all-female staff. We specialize in top trending ear and body piercings and offer implant grade titanium, 14k solid gold, and lab-created diamond jewelry.
I was inspired to start The Pin Cushion when my daughter was 6 years old. I wanted to create a safe and friendly space for her and her friends to get their ears pierced. Over the years, it has been so rewarding for me and my team to watch our clients grow up and become adults, and many of them still stop by to visit us.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OTHER WOMEN WHO ARE STARTING OR GROWING A BUSINESS?
My advice would be to never give up on your dreams and to trust your gut instincts. Life will throw you curveballs, but you have to stay on your path. Be patient, be kind, and nurture your business. It will always give that love back.
WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING, HOW DO YOU ENJOY SPENDING YOUR TIME?
When I’m not at the shop, I always try to stay busy. I’m in my third year of wine school at Texas Tech University for viticulture and wine production, and I’m also learning Italian.

Jax Holt | Celina HS
It is with great pleasure to announce the Outstanding Student Athlete of the Month as selected by the Celina Independent School District (CISD) Athletic Coaching Team. This month’s selection is junior Jax Holt.
Jax is a center back on the Celina High School varsity boys’ soccer team and has been on varsity for the past three years. One of his favorite memories came during his freshman season at the Sulphur Springs preseason tournament when he scored the championship-winning penalty kick, helping secure the title for Celina. Although the team narrowly missed the playoffs this season, they finished strong with a victory over the district’s top team. Last year, the team advanced all the way to the Regional Finals.
Jax has earned several honors for his performance on the field. As a sophomore, he was named District 11-4A Defensive Player of the Year, Team Co-Defensive Player of the Year, a Become 10 Underclass All-Star Team selection, Texas Association of Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region

(Region 2-4A), and a Star Local Media 2025 All-Area Boys Soccer Team honoree. During his freshman year, he earned District 11-4A Honorable Mention recognition. Jax began playing soccer at age five and currently competes in club soccer with Dallas Roma FC. In addition to soccer, he is also the starting kicker for the Celina varsity football team.
Jax credits much of his motivation to his father, who has coached him throughout his life. “My dad has been a coach all my life and, from the time I was little, has taught me to be my best every time I step on the field, whether for soccer or football,” Jax shared. “Now I get to play for him.”
Off the field, Jax maintains a 3.85 GPA while staying involved in numerous school activities, including the Chamber Choir, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Celina Young Life. He enjoys golfing in his free time and plans to pursue an athletic career at the collegiate level. Congratulations to Jax Holt on being named this month’s Outstanding Student Athlete of the Month sponsored by Lamar National Bank!

RODEO CELINA ENTERS YEAR THREE WITH BIG CHANGES
ARTICLE BY KATELYN BRISCOE PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED BY RODEO CELINA
As Celina’s cornfields give way to new housing developments and historic buildings on the square transform into bars, restaurants, and boutiques, Rodeo Celina is looking back to the town’s ranching roots. Inspired by the “Playdays” once hosted by the Celina Riding Club, Rodeo Celina is entering its third year with a renewed commitment to celebrating the values that shaped the community, even as the town continues to grow and evolve. Reflecting the changes seen across Celina, the board is introducing updates of its own, beginning with a new location. Rodeo Celina is moving

from Southfork Ranch to Myers Park in McKinney, just 15 minutes from downtown Celina. The decision to bring the rodeo closer to home highlights the organization’s mission to preserve the spirit and heritage of the community.
“As Celina continues to grow, one of the principal motivators is protecting the Western culture and cowboy heritage that define this area, while reinforcing the legacy of ranching and agricultural life,” Apffel said. “The only way to do that was by moving closer to Celina.”
Apffel, who volunteered during the rodeo’s first two years, has stepped into the role of chairman with a vision for growth. One of his first initiatives was restructuring the board to support that vision. The current board includes Dorothy Allen, John Hickman, Brian Murphy, Ceasar Rodriguez, Jared Hubbell, and Andy Hopkins.
“The goal is to expand both the scope and the impact of the rodeo,” Apffel said.
That vision is already taking shape in several ways. Along with the new location, the board has invested in its own arena, drawing inspiration from renowned events like Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Calgary Stampede.
“It creates a much better guest experience from a viewing perspective,” Apffel said. “Guests are right on top of the action.”
While enhancing the guest experience remains a priority, Apffel emphasized that the rodeo’s mission extends beyond entertainment.
“We want to create awareness for the Warhorse Cavalry Foundation,” he said.
The foundation was created in response to the ongoing mental health crisis among veterans and first responders. Many veterans across the country struggle with mental health, underscoring the urgent need for meaningful support. Many who have served face elevated rates of depression, PTSD, and chronic stress,

often without the resources or community needed to navigate those challenges.
Warhorse Cavalry is working to address those silent battles through equine assisted programs, community connection, and purpose driven ranch work.
The goal is to provide a place where veterans and first responders can process trauma, reduce stress, and rediscover a sense of purpose, ultimately helping to restore hope and prevent more lives from being lost.
“What we are building here in Celina is intended to become a central hub for meaningful support of the veteran community across Texas,” Apffel said.
That sense of purpose is grounded not only in future ambitions but also in appreciation for those who laid the foundation for the event.
“I would like to thank the founders for their continued support through all of the changes,” Apffel said.
“The support from both the founders and the community means a great deal to us. The future is bright.”
Rodeo Celina will take place May 29 through May 31 at Myers Park and Event Center, located at 7117 County Road 166 in McKinney. Tickets and additional information are available at RodeoCelina.com

In Celina, growth is nothing new, but the way the community honors its roots is what makes it special. As new neighborhoods take shape and families continue to put down roots, Celina ISD is preparing to welcome the next generation of students with three new elementary schools, all set to open in fall 2027.
Each school has been named after an individual whose story is deeply connected to Celina. For many longtime residents, these are not just names, but familiar faces, mentors, and friends who left a lasting mark on local schools and families.
The new campuses are part of Celina ISD’s long range plan to keep up with the city’s rapid growth, ensuring students have access to high quality education in modern, thoughtfully designed spaces. Funded through voter-approved bond dollars, the schools are a direct reflection of the community’s continued investment in students and their future. District leaders say choosing the names was just as important as building the schools themselves.
After gathering input from the Facility Naming Committee, Celina ISD officially announced the three new campuses:
• Alma Jo Scott Elementary School, located in Uptown
• Ophelia Grumbles Elementary School, located in Green Meadows
• Janet H. Calvert Elementary School, located in the Ramble neighborhood
For many in Celina, Alma Jo Scott is a name that already feels like home. After dedicating 38 years to Celina ISD, she became known as one of the original “Bobcat Moms,” serving as a steady and supportive presence for students, families, and staff alike. Her impact was not just measured in years, but in relationships, traditions, and the sense of community she helped create.
Naming a school after her feels, to many, like a natural extension of the role she has always played. When she first learned the news, it did not come the way anyone expected. A carefully planned surprise turned into a heartfelt family moment when her children and grandchildren gathered in her home and gently shared the honor with her. “I never once thought about it,” she said. “It just never entered my mind.”
Her path into education was not planned either. It began as a temporary job that turned into a decades long career. Along the way, she became the first face many new families saw when they arrived in Celina, welcoming them with warmth and helping them feel at home. Even now, she hopes the school that bears her name will be a place where students feel safe, known, and cared for, just as generations before them did.
In many ways, her legacy is already part of Celina, and the new Alma Jo Scott Elementary School gives it a place to live on for generations to come.
Long before Celina’s recent growth, Ophelia Grumbles was helping shape young minds in a very different era. She began teaching in Celina in the late 1930s and spent most of her career in the district, becoming a beloved teacher to generations of students. During World War II, she stepped away from the classroom to support her husband, later returning to continue the work she clearly loved.
Her story is one of dedication to education, family, and community. That legacy did not stop with her. The Grumbles' name has remained closely tied to Celina through generations of involvement and service.
For her grandson, Brandon Grumbles, the recognition feels both meaningful and fitting. “Before Celina grew so rapidly, it was hard to find someone she had not taught,” he shared. “People still tell me stories about being in her class and the impact she had on them.”
Many of those memories center around a simple daily tradition, reading The Bobbsey Twins aloud after lunch, giving students a moment to settle in and something to look forward to each day.
That same pride is shared across the family. Her daughter, Karol Grumbles Omlor, tells us, "Randy and I are very happy for our mother. The school is a visible impact she made on others throughout her life. If she were alive today, she would be very surprised, very honored, and very happy." Through her family’s memories, her influence continues to ripple forward, now reaching students she will never meet, but undoubtedly inspires. CONTINUED >

Janet H. Calvert’s connection to Celina ISD spans both career and calling. A lifelong resident, she dedicated more than 30 years to the district as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Even after retirement, she never really left, continuing to volunteer in classrooms and stay connected to the students and staff she cared so deeply about. Her story is one of quiet consistency, showing up, investing in others, and leading with heart.
When she found out a school would bear her name, the moment caught her completely off guard. During what she thought was a routine podcast recording for Celina’s anniversary, her family surprised her with the announcement. Her reaction was simple disbelief. “Did I hear that right?” she recalled.

Throughout her career, she found her greatest joy in the classroom, especially teaching first grade, where she loved watching students grow and discover a love of learning. Even in retirement, she returned weekly to volunteer, helping young readers build confidence and fluency. For Mrs. Calvert, staying involved was about giving back to a district that had given her so much while staying close to the students who made it meaningful. For those who know her, it is no surprise, because for Janet Calvert, education was never just a job.
As these schools prepare to open their doors in 2027, they will do more than welcome students. They will carry forward the stories of the people who helped shape Celina into what it is today. For the families who walk these halls in the years ahead, these names will become part of everyday life. A reminder that even as Celina grows, it never loses sight of the people who made it feel like home.

In a world where girls are told anything, Girls United Ministries (GUM) is here to shine the light of Christ. Established in the summer of 2024, a mission was born: to see the next generation of girls grow in their relationship with Jesus, live in unity with His heart and with others, and make disciples.
The creator and founder, Hannah Irby, believes that every girl who loves Jesus should know Him and make Him known. This is possible by throwing away

everything that hinders us, whether it be gossip, doubt, fear, assumptions, hurt, etc., and stepping into what Christ has for us—living in unity with Him and with others.
Grow. Unity. Make disciples. It seems simple, but we actually can’t have this without knowing Christ. There is no unity without Christ. We can’t be united or live in unity without Him.
Why unity? There is so much in our world that not only divides those who love Jesus, but also instills fear in making His name known. At Girls United Ministries, we believe that the unity of the body of Christ is a beautiful thing. Where there is unity, God commands blessing. Biblical unity has Christ as the head, is centered in Him, and calls out and convicts worldly things for the building up of the church. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, we can be in unity on earth as it is in heaven.
Mission: “We exist to equip and encourage the next generation of girls to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Through this, we emphasize unity with His heart and others while being on mission to make disciples.”
Vision: “We strive to cultivate an authentic, Christ-centered community through unity.”
Why: “To equip and encourage biblical unity in the next generation of girls while making Jesus known.”
So, girl, are you ready to step into unity and all that the Lord has for you for such a time as this? Get connected below—we can’t wait to see you online. You were created for such a time as this.

For Rebecca, the path to florals began long before Greenologie opened. Growing up in her family’s nursery business,

Shades of Green, she developed a natural love for plants and design. Flowers became more than decoration. They were expressive, meaningful, and full of possibility. That early foundation shaped Greenologie into a place where creativity and nature come together.
Julie Holland brings her own creative perspective and passion, helping shape the collaborative spirit behind the brand. Their partnership blends vision and execution, allowing Greenologie to thrive as both a creative outlet and a community-focused business.
What sets Greenologie apart is its commitment to artistry. Each arrangement is thoughtfully designed, never mass-produced, and always one of a kind. The studio leans into an organic, textured style inspired by the natural movement of flowers. The result is work that feels less like a product and more like art.
From everyday bouquets to full-scale event installations, Greenologie approaches each project with care. Their designs transform spaces, whether for a romantic ceremony, a celebration, or a simple gesture of love. Every stem is placed with intention, creating arrangements that feel as meaningful as they look.
Beyond events and arrangements, Greenologie is creating opportunities for connection through upcoming floral workshops. These hands-on

experiences invite others into the creative process, offering not just instruction, but a chance to slow down and create something personal.
That sense of connection is rooted in the brand’s story. Greenologie draws from a legacy of horticulture and small business, with ties to family-owned nurseries and local flower shops. This heritage is reflected in the way Rebecca and Julie serve their community, with authenticity and care.
The studio also embraces seasonal creativity, offering unique services like curated porch pumpkin installations that blend

floral design with lifestyle styling. This willingness to think beyond traditional floristry keeps Greenologie fresh and inspiring.
Operating as a boutique, appointment-only studio, Greenologie prioritizes quality over quantity. This intentional approach allows Rebecca and Julie to focus on creating designs that feel personal and thoughtful.
At its core, Greenologie is about more than flowers. It is about cultivating joy, celebrating life’s moments, and bringing beauty into the everyday. Through their work, Rebecca Calvert and Julie Holland remind us that flowers are not just something we see. They are something we feel.

The power of taste, trust, and the courage to “just start.”
She didn’t have a business plan, a media budget, or even a name anyone could pronounce. What Becky Hillyard had was taste, a young family, and the instinct to just start. Today, her lifestyle brand Cella Jane commands an audience the size of Vogue’s, she’s nine collections strong with Splendid, and she’s built it all while raising three kids — refusing to sacrifice one for the other. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Becky shares what it really takes to build a brand, a career, and a life you love. Read the highlights below, then scan the QR code for the full conversation.

Q: WHEN DID YOU KNOW CELLA JANE WAS MORE THAN A HOBBY?
A: Two moments. Women started emailing me saying they bought something I recommended and felt amazing — asking me to help them find a dress for a wedding. That felt incredible. Then I looked at my affiliate numbers for one month and realized I could cover our mortgage. I thought, I can actually do this. I never set out to build a business. I started it because I genuinely loved it.

Q: WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST RISK YOU EVER TOOK WITH THE BRAND?
A: Designing my own collection. It’s easy to point at items on a website and say I love these. But to create something from scratch, put your name on it, and wait to see if people connect with it — that’s terrifying. I had an incredible partner in Splendid, and women loved the pieces. It was the biggest risk and the biggest accomplishment.
Q: HOW HAS INFLUENCER MARKETING CHANGED SINCE YOU STARTED?
A: When I started, brands didn’t know whether to take it seriously. Now it’s a legitimate line item in their marketing budgets — sometimes bigger than TV. Because what we’ve built is trust. People trust a real recommendation from someone they follow far more than a commercial. There’s no question about it now.
Q: YOU’RE A MOM OF THREE RUNNING A FULL BRAND. WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?
A: I try to get up at five and not hit snooze — that first hour before the house wakes up is the most productive, most peaceful hour of my day. Then it’s all hands on deck with the kids and school drop-off. After that I work — planning content, connecting with my team, editing. After pickup, the day shifts completely and it’s all about them. I’ve learned to protect both halves fiercely, because both matter.

Q: WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BUILD SOMETHING OF THEIR OWN BUT KEEPS WAITING?
A: Don’t wait. Don’t wait for the perfect camera, the right strategy, or enough followers. We find every excuse to stay comfortable. Just start, be consistent, and be authentically yourself. The right people will find you — and they’ll stay.
This conversation is just the beginning. Becky goes deeper on the risks that almost stopped her, the design process behind her latest Splendid collection, and what she’d tell her 2012 self today. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on the Share the Lifestyle Podcast.
“Trust is the only metric that actually compounds.”

This Berry Bruschetta is a delightful twist on the classic bruschetta that we all love. This version uses fruit, bringing a sweet element to the traditionally savory dish. With the use of fresh berries, cream cheese, delicious fruit spread, crumbled cheese, and fresh rosemary, it is the perfect addition to your next spring event. This simple, yet beautiful appetizer could be enjoyed at your next brunch, shower or Mother’s Day celebration. But let’s be honest—you don’t need an excuse to enjoy this delectable dish!
INGREDIENTS:
• 12 baguette slices
• Extra virgin olive oil (for brushing)
• 4 oz cream cheese
• 1/4 cup Fruit and Honey Triple Berry Spread (or any fruit spread of your choice)
• 1/3 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
• 1/3 cup fresh blueberries
• 2 oz fruit cheese (such as Wensleydale with Autumn Fruit), crumbled
• Fresh rosemary for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Lightly brush the front and back of the baguette slices with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
3. Toast baguette slices in the oven for 3-5 minutes or until lightly toasted.
4. Once the baguette slices are cool, spread a generous layer of cream cheese over each slice.
5. Add the fruit spread on top of the cream cheese.
6. Add sliced strawberries and a few blueberries, allowing the vibrant colors to pop. (A great place to find fresh fruit is our local staple, Crystal & Rich’s Produce.)
7. Crumble the fruit cheese over the top for an added layer of richness and depth.
8. Garnish with fresh Rosemary if desired.
9. Serve and enjoy!

In a world filled with intense workout trends and “no days off” mentalities, many women are beginning to shift their perspective on fitness. Instead of pushing through exhaustion or chasing unrealistic goals, the focus is turning toward movement that actually feels good, both physically and mentally.
This approach is not about doing less. It is about doing what works. For some, that might look like strength training a few times a week. For others, it could be long walks, yoga, pilates, or simply staying active throughout the day. The key is choosing movement that supports your body instead of depleting it.
Research continues to show that consistency matters far more than intensity. When workouts feel enjoyable, they become sustainable. That means less burnout, fewer

injuries, and a healthier relationship with exercise overall. Women are also becoming more aware of how hormones, stress, and sleep impact energy levels, learning to adjust their routines instead of forcing their bodies to perform the same way every day.
There is also a growing understanding that rest is part of the equation. Recovery is not a setback. It is essential. Building strength, improving endurance, and maintaining overall health all require time for the body to repair and recharge.
Ultimately, movement that feels good is about listening to your body and letting go of the idea that fitness has to be extreme to be effective. When you shift the goal from punishment to support, exercise becomes something you look forward to, not something you dread. And that is where real, lasting wellness begins.
