HOME IS A FEELING… NOT AN ADDRESS

Luxury today isn’t excess—it’s peace, belonging, and intentional living!

“Home” is where life unfolds in small, meaningful moments. The familiarity of the morning light coming in your windows, your favorite coffee cup, your friendly pups wagging their tails when they see you, and the laughter of children waking up to play. For many, it’s the fond memories of opening your doors to welcome friends over for dinners and poolside conversations and gathering for coffee or cocktails with neighbors around a table where stories are shared.

Home is a place where memories are made and legacies begin. It doesn’t have to include extravagant possessions, just the experience of everyday rituals is enough to call it home.

Cedar Park and Leander aren’t just places to live—but places to belong. To celebrate with others in your community, acknowledge shared values with neighbors, and be thankful for the quality of life and our connections with one another.

Homes change with each season of life—first homes, growing families, empty nests, fresh starts. Wherever you are at, we thank you for welcoming us into your home this season!

I personally appreciate your support of our local business partners featured in this Home Issue, who strive to earn your trust daily by providing quality and craftsmanship that lasts! Giving you indoor and outdoor spaces that support wellness, creativity, functionality, and connection. Thank you for inviting our trusted partners into your homes.

May this issue inspire you to see your home not just as a place you live, but as a place that lives within you.

And sometimes pausing just a bit to find peace, reclaim calm, rest, recharge, and reset. That’s what a home allows!

Blessings!

RAISING ROOFS, RAISING LEADERS

STAY SAFE AND SECURE WITH HALL’S ROOFING & SHEET METAL

Shannon Hall loves to soak up the sunshine when she’s off the clock, whether she’s out on the water boating and surfing or exploring new places through her travels. Stepping away from the daily grind gives her the reset she needs to stay energized, grounded, and inspired.

That sense of renewal carries straight back into her work at The Original Hall’s Roofing & Sheet Metal, a family business that has served the community since 1939.

After taking the reins from her father, Shannon continues the leadership style she learned firsthand. She practices patience and holds high expectations rooted in care, especially when it comes to her daughter, Faith, who works alongside her. Watching Faith take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, and genuinely strive to do things the right way has become one of Shannon’s most beloved full-circle experiences.

“As a mom, getting to watch her grow into her role and develop confidence in her work is something I don’t take for granted,” says Shannon. “It brings back a lot of memories of my dad teaching me, not just the technical side of the business, but the importance of showing up, working hard, and taking pride in what you do.”

Nearly nine decades later, the Hall family still believes a roofing company is only as good as its word. For Shannon and her team, that means treating customers like what they truly are: neighbors.

That commitment extends within the walls of the business, too. With many of their team members having been together for years, even those who aren’t related feel like family. And they are known for their calm-under-pressure collaborative efforts, particularly during demanding stretches of back-to-back storms. When challenges hit, the crew pulls together without complaint and stays focused on delivering quality work.

One moment that stands out to Shannon came after a major storm severely damaged a homeowner’s roof. The family was overwhelmed and unsure where to begin, but the Hall’s Roofing team stepped in quickly and got their house protected again.

“When the job was done, they told us they could finally sleep at night knowing their family was safe and dry. That kind of response stays with you,” says Shannon. “It’s a reminder that we’re not just fixing roofs; we’re helping people through some of their most stressful moments. Being able to bring peace of mind is what makes this work so meaningful to us.”

In her time as owner, Shannon finds that her biggest lesson has been the importance of doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult. She’s also learned that you don’t always need every answer immediately. Staying humble, listening closely, and remaining open to learning often lead to the best outcomes in business and in life at large.

“At the end of the day, our name is on every roof we install,” says Shannon. “Honoring our family’s legacy means making sure that name continues to stand for trust, quality, and genuine care for the community we serve.”

ELISE HOEFT

Elise grew up in Paris, France, in the 1970s, where she first fell in love with the stories painted by the great masters. Their work taught her that art is more than technique—it’s a way of seeing, feeling, and sharing the world. After completing her collegiate years in the United States, she began to tell her own story through paint. Her journey eventually led her to Texas, where the wild beauty of the landscape and the warmth of the community have become central to her work.

Over the years, her studio has been filled with students, family, and the joyful chaos of creative life. Teaching has deepened her belief that beauty is found in the fleeting moments

YOUR UPGRADE DONE RIGHT

Replace your home’s windows and doors with tailored solutions from the professional installers at Texas Window Store

If you want an energy-efficient, high-performance fiberglass window, you choose Marvin. If you want a beautiful, durable front door that makes a statement, you choose iron. And if you want a family-owned, locally-based installation team that understands how to elevate comfort and curb appeal, you choose Texas Window Store.

At the heart of the business is owner Jesse Westphal and a small but mighty team of hustlers who genuinely love what they do. They move fast, work hard, and take pride in getting the job done right. It’s the kind of dedication to quality that shows up on every project, whether that’s three windows or a whole-home replacement project.

“We go above and beyond what is expected with installation. We make sure windows are sealed properly—watertight and airtight—and that they’re secure, not just in terms of break-ins but also against weather,” says Westphal. “Our team takes care of your home as if it’s their own.”

Texas Window Store aims to leave the space in the same condition, if not better, than when they arrived. That’s why you can expect covered furniture, protected walls, and runners on the floor. With a steady stream of reviews highlighting how clean and considerate the crew is, the experience evidently extends far beyond the product itself.

Westphal is proud of the team he has built and values having the chance to help each team member move

closer to where they want to be in life, professionally and personally. For him, success is about growing together and creating opportunity.

That collective strength is seen in the depth of expertise customers encounter during their renovations. Installers bring more than a decade of hands-on experience, while Project Manager Roque offers a construction background spanning framing, electrical work, and homebuilding. Even the sales team completes manufacturer training to ensure everyone speaks the same language.

From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, homeowners know they are in knowledgeable, capable hands with Texas Window Store.

“We want to get to know the customer, find out what’s important to them, their wants and needs. And then we match them with a manufacturer that can provide that,” says Westphal. “We don’t sell windows, we assist homeowners with buying windows that are right for them.”

TRANSFORM Your Home & Life

Improve living spaces with handyman services and SunSetter awning installations from By His Hands, LLC

PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY OF BY HIS HANDS, LLC

Long before launching his business, Dell Harrington was shaping hands-on skills in a woodshop classroom. By day, he taught students the fundamentals of craftsmanship; on the side, he tackled home repairs and remodeling projects.

That mix of leadership and trades opened the door to the oil fields, where Dell ultimately earned the title of Certified Safety Professional. He held this role for several years, even as he and his wife moved from West Texas to Austin. Both worked at the same company, building a life in their new city.

Then in 2012, everything shifted. Just months after his wife’s cancer diagnosis, Dell was laid off. Dozens of applications later, opportunities remained elusive. To stay productive, he returned to helping friends with home maintenance, planting the seeds for what would come next.

One afternoon, while repairing a fence and praying about the uncertainty in front of him, Dell felt the Lord impress something unmistakable on his heart: it was time to step out on his own. Since founding By His Hands, LLC, he hasn’t been without jobs.

“The most fulfilling thing is the fact that this is the Lord’s business,” says Dell. “This line of work is part of my living testimony.” By His Hands, LLC offers a wide range of handyman services to improve the safety, security, and comfort of homes. Dell is also a dealer with SunSetter, a nationally recognized company known for high-quality awnings, solar screens, and retractable screens. He admires SunSetter’s commitment to ongoing customer care and trusts their products to perform.

Equally important to Dell are the people who have come to him in real need of steady work. Helping them regain stability has been very rewarding, and he hopes to expand his team and create more opportunities this year.

“It’s a wide-open industry, and we stand behind our products,” says Dell. “I’ll go to bat for you, for whatever.”

Storytelling in Focus

Introducing Cedar Park City Lifestyle’s newest photographer, Aaron Cash

Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Aaron Cash brings a grounded sense of grit to his work behind the camera. For over 20 years, Central Texas has been home, with the Cedar Park area playing an important role in shaping his creative career. Cash’s photography is built on connection—to people, to place, and to the moments that matter most.

Married with two young hockey players, life for Cash often revolves around local rinks, early mornings, and the commitment youth sports demand. That environment naturally influences his photography style, where movement, confidence, and emotion take center stage. Away from the rink, a love for rescue animals reflects the compassion and patience that define his home life and his client approach.

Cash’s work spans a wide range of photography, from bold, dramatic “hero” sessions to family portraits, corporate headshots, and community events. Each session is met with the same care and attention to detail, ensuring every client feels seen. The result is imagery that strikes a balance between artistry and authenticity.

Photography, for Cash, is more than capturing an image. It’s about creating an experience—one that reflects the people of Central Texas and tells their story in a meaningful, lasting way.
