August 2021 Lee Team Business Highlight

STAN SAYERS GOLF When someone is in need, the true testament of Community is when people come together as a group to help those in need. We see that during times of stress in our country and felt that most recently when so many were in need during the Covid-19 pandemic. The compassion during this time is one we truly never want to forget. A group of men are coming together as a Community on August 12th to raise funds for a family that had the sudden loss of their beloved wife and mother. When Lynda Sayers passed away unexpectedly in June at the age of 52, her family was left with a void that is impossible to understand. Lynda leaves behind her husband Stan Sayers who is an independent PGA Teaching Professional based out of the Colorado Golf Club, her son John (12), Bethany (23) and Lauren (22).

GOLF MARATHON benefiting the Sayers Family

give.cornerstone.cc/TheRemnantInc Checks are also accepted. Make out to The Remnant and mail to: The Remnant, 7187 Shoreham Drive, Castle Pines, CO 80108

The Sayers family appreciate your support. Please call Louie Lee for more information about the family or the golf fundraiser. 303-549-6925 | Louie.Lee@Live.com

In order to surround this family with Community and support, this “band of brothers” is hosting a Golf Marathon on August 12th at Heritage Todd Creek in Thornton to raise funds for the family to help with the remaining hospital bills and to set up an education fund for John. A Golf Marathon is the easiest way to participate in a golf fundraiser! The goal of a Golf Marathon is for the participants to golf 100 holes of Golf in one day! The easy part is that the donor sponsors the golfer. The sponsor can donate per hole, or lump sum all from the comfort of their home. The golf course, breakfast, lunch and snacks are generously being donated, so all funds will go directly to the family. One sponsor will receive a special prize based on a raffle drawing at the end of the event. Please consider sponsoring the golfers, donating a raffle item or better yet - joining them for 100 holes! Stan Sayers has been a teaching professional for over 27 years and has been a longtime friend

and teacher of Louie’s. The “band of brothers” are friends that are connected through various Bible studies and have committed to using their community to help the Sayers family. Another way to support Stan is to hire his services. He is an independent instructor, based out of the Colorado Golf Club, but he is able to teach anyone.

THE MOST FUN THINGS WE DID WITH OUR KIDS

WE FINALLY PLANNED A FAMILY TRIP TO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST MAINLY BECAUSE AS A CHILD THROUGH YOUNG ADULTHOOD WHERE ANY TRAVELING ADVENTURES TOOK ME, IT WAS NEVER TO THAT REGION OF THE COUNTRY. When I first watched the movie Sleepless in Seattle, I fell in love with the idea of Seattle. I watched that movie so many times, friends and family made fun of me. It became very clear that after being quarantined this past year our family made a pact that our first summer trip would be finally getting to Seattle. TAKE FLIGHT Post COVD travel with children is a bit different. It’s not that you still don’t need to arrive early, have snacks in the bags and all the other little tricks of the trade. You just need to bring a lot more patience and expect everything you may or may not have taught your kids about traveling is a bit out the window. My biggest take away… have tons of extra masks that only you know where they are so when they magically are gone like the extra sock from the dryer, you are prepared. I have to say, I am very much looking forward to the mask mandate being lifted at airports.

ARRIVING, DRIVING AND GETTING TO OUR HOTEL We decided to Uber XL. We are a large family and need all the seats we can get. Our driver was wonderful and the masks were optional if you were vaccinated and for small kids. It didn’t feel a lick different other than that and the drive from the airport to our hotel was perfectly splendid. We stayed at a hotel in the Pikes Market area. There are so many wonderful hotels we decided to not plug the one we stayed at. We picked a hotel close to the action. We wanted to be close to the main attractions we were planning on seeing. We didn’t want to rent a car, and we wanted to be close to snack shops and a Target just in case someone forgot something or we needed something we didn’t know we needed. ALL THE PLACES WE WENT PIKES PLACE MARKET PLACE The smell of the flower markets and fresh lavender had us quoting, “You had us at Hello.” It’s truly a feast for the senses, with plenty to entice tots and teens.

So thankfully the kids had something to tell their friends back home about flying fish. THE GUM WALL Okay, I don’t get it but it’s one of the most Instagram photo places in the US. We would have never knew about it if a friend of mine who lived there didn’t tell us to make sure to bring the kids to The

We went in the late afternoon to evening and closed the place down we enjoyed it so much. We got to experience The Space Needle’s specular views on the evening night on the 4th of July with fireworks as well as a proposal to wed on the observatory deck. The Space Needle is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world and is a treasured Seattle icon. Our Family couldn’t’ agree more. The tower’s 520’ saucer-shaped “top house” offers visitors Seattle’s only 360-degree indoor and outdoor panoramic views of downtown, Mount Rainier, Puget Sound, and the Cascades and Olympic mountain ranges. Our kids could not stop talking about getting to be rotated around and around looking down on beautiful Seattle. BAINBRIDGE ISLAND Let’s start with this can be a lovely trip all on its own, and as a family we feel like the one day excursion to the island was not enough time. We have this on our list of places to return and stay longer. Bainbridge Island is a quick ferry ride from the middle of downtown Seattle, but it feels a world away with it’s charming shops, beautiful gardens, forests and beaches and history and culture. Add to that some delicious food, local wine and craft beer and spirits and you really can find it all here. We all know that kids like to play and have fun, so why not make food fun? Whether you’re turning broccoli into a microphone at dinner, or playing tic-tac-toe with edible carrot sticks, kids get into it. DON’T GIVE UP Parents often assume that if a child doesn’t eat a food the first or second time it’s served, the child doesn’t like the food. Many children may
