Join the World’s Game with Family Fun and Entertainment all season long!

As the days become longer and birdsong is heard once again, there's a sense of renewal in Carmel. Spring is in the air, and with it comes the energy of a new season. April is our annual Investment edition. While this is traditionally the month everyone talks about taxes and portfolios, we wanted to look at the term "investment" through a wider lens.
A community like ours isn't built overnight; it’s the result of small, intentional investments made year after year. It’s why Carmel is consistently named one of the best places in the country to raise a family because we’ve collectively decided that "good enough" isn’t an option for our future.

For my family, the greatest "ROI" we see is through our schools. Watching my first-grade daughter come home, eager to teach me something new she learned that day, is a daily reminder of what happens when a city invests time, energy and resources into its children. She isn’t just learning a curriculum; she’s benefiting from a legacy of investment in her future.
I also love watching my daughter learn new skills, like playing basketball with the Carmel Dads Club. This was her first season, and she was terrified before that first practice, worried she wouldn't know anyone and nervous to play a sport she had only practiced in our driveway. But after a few weeks of hard work, her investment of effort truly paid off. By the end of the season, her coach was thrilled with her growth, telling me, “I see basketball in this girl’s future!”
In the following pages, you’ll find stories of neighbors and experts who are investing in our community’s health, our local economy and our personal development. One sentiment we heard from the owner of Fringe & Form is that their "heart has always been bigger than clothing." That owner, Michele Jenae Dieckmeyer, vows to continue making a deeper impact in the lives of others, especially for women who need confidence restored and hope renewed. She believes giving back is a reflection of gratitude for the opportunities she and her family have been given.
As you read this month's magazine, I invite you to reflect on your own portfolio and not just the one at the bank, but the one involving your time and energy. After all, those are the investments that pay the most meaningful dividends.

By Maram Said, DO, FACOG MIGS Gynecology, Medical Director, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
Too often, women with complex gynecologic disease are told that their only options are radical or invasive surgery, prolonged recovery or just to accept that their gynecologic or fertility goals are no longer realistic. Many have to live with chronic pain or abnormal bleeding and are told that’s simply their reality. But now, those realities are changing for the better with advancements in minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery.
An unlikely pregnancy. A new chance at motherhood. After years of trying to grow her family through in vitro fertilization at an outside facility, one of my patients learned that severe endometriosis around her pelvic organs — including her urinary and gastrointestinal systems — made it nearly impossible for her to conceive. She was referred to me for excision surgery.
Focused on her fertility goals, our team at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel completed a complex, roboticassisted resection and excision of her endometriosis, including complete resection of inflammatory disease, restoration of pelvic anatomy and flushing of her fallopian tubes. Within 90 days of surgery, she conceived spontaneously — without any infertility treatment — and delivered a healthy baby in her 40s.
This wasn’t just a miracle; the right diagnosis, combined with innovative surgical techniques carefully tailored to her unique anatomy, made all the difference.
Where innovation meets compassionate care
This is just one story. Many women’s lives have been forever changed by robotic-assisted surgery. With these tools, we can treat complex diseases with far
less trauma to the body, support faster recovery and deliver better patient outcomes. Using magnified 3D viewing scopes and wrist-operated instruments, we can carefully dissect disease, preserve healthy tissue and restore anatomy that has been distorted by fibroids, endometriosis, scarring or inflammation.
With robotic-assisted surgery, patients may experience:
• Less tissue trauma and blood loss
• Lower risk of blood transfusion
• Reduced need for narcotic pain medication
• Same-day discharge to home
• Faster return to work and normal activities
• Improved long-term function and quality of life
At Ascension St. Vincent Carmel, I’m blessed to provide the best care for our patients with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons from colorectal, urology and general surgery in our Robotic Center of Excellence. Here, robotic surgery allows us to safely treat women who were previously told they were “not candidates” for minimally invasive care.
Let’s start a conversation to see how robotic-assisted surgery can support your healing.

Supporting charities is deeply personal to Michele Jenae Dieckmeyer, Fringe & Form owner. "There were seasons in my life when I needed support, encouragement and someone to believe in me. Because of that, I don’t see philanthropy as writing a check; it's coming alongside others in moments that matter." Her husband, Damon Dieckmeyer, shares that sentiment. Organizations close to Michele's heart: Riley Children’s Hospital, Prevail, The O’Connor House, Dove Recovery House and Allies Inc.

IMPROVE OVERALL HEALTH WITH ROUTINE PREVENTIVE DENTAL CARE
ARTICLE BY ALLYSON (ALLY) STRACZEK PHOTOGRAPHY BY KATHERINE.MEI PHOTOGRAPHY Danielle
Godley, DDS, MS

Born and raised in Indiana, Danielle Godley, DDS, MS, has a genuine passion for orthodontics. She works with her patients by educating them on available treatment options to achieve the best outcomes for their health and lifestyles.
Godley Family Orthodontics combines highly trained staff, advanced technology and a genuine care for the community to provide orthodontic care. “An orthodontist who values personalized care and open communication is often the one providing the best care,” says Dr. Godley. “We believe in giving genuine, personalized care, just as we would for our own family.”
Thoughtfully planned orthodontic care does more than straighten teeth; it helps create a healthy, balanced bite that protects teeth, gums and jaw long term. When everything fits together the way it should, it can reduce tooth wear, lower the risk of gum recession and bone loss, ease jaw strain and support healthy breathing. This helps avoid more complex and costly dental treatments later in life.
“Investing in proper, preventive dental and orthodontic care can save you time, money and unnecessary stress later on,” explains Dr. Godley. “When you choose to invest in quality care, you’re not just paying for straighter teeth — you’re investing in long-term health, confidence and peace of mind for years to come.”
Patients should consider doing both routine and preventive care, encourages Dr. Godley. Routine care includes regular cleanings, examples, treating cavities and orthodontic treatment to address tooth and jaw misalignments. Preventive care takes a more forward-thinking approach. In dentistry, this might mean early cavity detection, sealants or closely monitoring gum health. In orthodontics, preventive or interceptive care includes early evaluation, guidance of jaw growth and correction of bite issues in children and teens before they become more complex.
“Teeth and jaws play an important role in everyday things like chewing, speaking and even breathing.
When alignment or bite issues are left untreated, they can slowly lead to uneven tooth wear, gum recession, jaw tension, headaches and the need for more complex (and often more expensive) treatment later on. Addressing concerns early can often prevent bigger problems down the road,” Dr. Godley explains.
When choosing the right orthodontic treatment, Dr. Godley recommends starting by deciding what matters most to oneself as the patient. Sharing details about work, school, sports, travel and careers helps an orthodontist determine the best treatment and timeline. Modern orthodontic care is more flexible and patientfriendly. Today’s treatments often are more comfortable, more efficient and more discreet than ever.
Advances in orthodontics and technology have made treatment more precise, comfortable and predictable. Digital scanning and imaging have played big roles. Intraoral scanners have replaced goopy impressions with quick, comfortable 3D images. Digital X-rays provide orthodontists with a clearer view of tooth roots, jaw position and airway space, while exposing patients to less radiation. Treatment customization and 3D-printed appliances also have transformed orthodontic care. These tools have allowed orthodontists to provide more precise, efficient and comfortable treatment from start to finish.
Dr. Godley and her team believe that a good orthodontist will take time to explain the benefits, risks and timing in ways that are easy to understand, and will offer choices when appropriate. “Feeling informed, supported and heard can make the decision feel much more comfortable,” she advocates.
As an American Board of Orthodontics board-certified orthodontist with years of advanced training and a singular focus on the craft of orthodontic treatment, Dr. Godley is located at 12036 N. Michigan Road, Ste. 110, Zionsville. The practice welcomes patients of all ages.
“Investing in your dental and orthodontic health supports your overall well-being. It’s about setting yourself up for success and reducing future problems.”

Local Initiative Helps Build Healthier Community By Supporting And Investing In Young Residents
The mission of the Carmel Mayor's Youth Council is to empower the very best young adults of Carmel in ways that benefit them as well as the Carmel community as a whole.
Formed in 2010, CMYC is an initiative started by former Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard (seven consecutive terms Jan. 1, 1996, to Jan. 1, 2024) to empower the youth community with unique service opportunities. The group consists of 25 to 35 high school students who wish to make positive, tangible impacts on the city during their time in high school. These students, with the support of local

government and civic leaders, plan, organize and implement opportunities and events that allow them to develop valuable leadership skills and organizational knowledge.
CMYC has its own internal leadership structure, bolstered by the program's primary adviser Joshua Kirsh. With the approval and support of city government representatives, councilmembers turn even the grandest ideas into reality.
CMYC officers: Ellen Rozmaryn, president; Manvi Musunuru, vice president of expansion; Lilah Walsh; vice president of current activities; and Alex Mi, clerk-treasurer.
The group's events include competing through 3v3 basketball teams to donate to charities of their choice; overseeing visitors' bikes at the Farmers Market bike station; showcasing diversity of cultures within Carmel; participating in CMYC's dodgeball tournament; supporting National Junior Honors Society Toy Drive by sorting, wrapping and bedazzling toys donated to local charities; playing in spikeball teams; and vying for the ultimate frisbee championship.
Applications for the next councilmembers' class were collected as of March 1. That process probes applicants' resumes; skills in technical areas; a letter of recommendation from a teacher, club sponsor, employer, volunteer supervisor or religious leader; certifications that no Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistance has been used in submitted details; as well as parental agreement. All incoming and returning high school students attending a school located in Carmel or living in a home with a Carmel address are eligible to apply for membership.
The new session likely will run from this May through June 2027.

Carmel's largest running event of the year is coming Saturday, April 18, via the 16th Annual Carmel Marathon Weekend. Notably, it's also the second largest marathon held in Indiana.
Local Race Director Jay Druba says the Carmel undertaking is one of the top Boston Marathon qualifying events. "The Carmel Marathon is truly known for fast times and ideal conditions," he adds. "In fact, we typically see over 20% of our marathoners run a Boston Marathon qualifying time."
This year's event partners are Ascension St. Vincent; Athletic Annex; Bess Wealth Advisors of Raymond James; Anderson's Pure Maple Syrup; Field Brewing; Athletico Physical Therapy; Pure Fuel; Craftsman Exterior Remodeling; Adobe; and Zenbusiness. Community partners are Carmel Runners Club and Carmel City Center.
On April 18, Jay says runners and volunteers should arrive at least by 7 a.m. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:45 a.m. At 8 a.m., the 5K and 10K starts. At 8:10 a.m., the marathon and half marathon begin.
Approximately 500 volunteers will be needed to fill shifts during the event weekend. Duties include Expo packet pickup help, gear check, guest services, transportation and aid stations. Some of the benefits that volunteers receive: free parking at the Expo and around the Carmel area; Carmel Marathon Weekend official volunteer T-shirt; complimentary snacks and refreshments.
All runners will receive a themed, moisture-wicking shirt and a finisher's medal, adds Jay.

An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle

ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD
PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.

Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.
A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.
Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?
A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.
Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?
A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.
Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?
A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.
“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”
Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?
A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”
Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.
This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on Share the Lifestyle Podcast.

There’s something about this fresh, ethereal feeling that not only melts away the last traces of winter but also sparks a quiet urge to refresh our surroundings. The cupboards that need decluttering, the baseboards that have gone untouched for months, the unworn clothes that no longer serve us—it all calls for renewal. This is the essence of spring cleaning: clearing out the old to make space for the new, both in our homes and in our minds.
For some, the idea of cleaning feels anything but peaceful. The thought of tackling clutter and dust can be overwhelming, turning what should be a refreshing transition into a dreaded chore. That’s why we’ve created a simple, practical guide to help you navigate spring cleaning with ease, turning it into a rhythmic, intentional process that mirrors the calm of the season itself.
Week 1: Refresh and Declutter
• Open windows for fresh air and let the natural light in.
• Declutter surfaces—countertops, coffee tables and shelves—removing anything unnecessary.
• Go through kitchen cabinets and toss expired pantry items and mismatched containers.
• Sort through closets, donating or repurposing clothes you haven’t worn in the past year.
• Wipe down baseboards and dust ceiling fans, light fixtures and vents.
Week 2: Deep Clean and Rejuvenate
• Wash windows and mirrors to welcome in the sunlight.
• Deep clean the fridge and pantry, wiping down shelves and organizing items.
• Launder curtains, cushion covers and throw blankets.
• Vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpets for a fresh start.
• Rotate and flip mattresses; wash all bedding, including pillows.
Week 3: Outdoor and Seasonal Transitions
• Sweep porches, patios and outdoor furniture, preparing for warm-weather gatherings.
• Check gutters and downspouts to ensure proper drainage.
• Tidy up gardens and potted plants, removing dead leaves and refreshing the soil.
• Store winter coats and boots, making space for lighter spring essentials.
• Replace seasonal decor—bring in fresh flowers, soft pastels and airy textures.
• Touch-up scuff marks on walls and doors.
• Stock up on cleaning supplies to maintain a fresh environment.
• Set a simple weekly cleaning routine to keep your home feeling refreshed.
• Light a scented candle or diffuse essential oils to celebrate your clean, peaceful space.
