Hello friends, AS A LOVER OF ART AND MUSIC, NOT BEING ABLE TO GO TO A MUSEUM, THE THEATER OR CONCERTS HAS BEEN DIFFICULT DURING THESE CHALLENGING MONTHS. Even all my favorite art festivals were canceled this year. I always love to support locals artists and have missed seeing my favorites. It has been wonderful though, to see how so many artists and performers have used technology to stay connected to their audience and reinvent themselves during the last 11 months. My young adult daughter and I have quenched our thirst for the arts with virtual concerts so we can hear live music. We've satisfied our longing for travel with virtual tours (and any movie with a French theme just to get our Paris fix). And have even enjoyed virtual theater performances featuring the son of a longtime friend across the country, which in non-pandemic times, I wouldn’t have seen at all. I’m sure many of you have done the same. And like me, I’m sure you long for the day when we can head down to the Fox or a small local

Femme Petale NIKI ZARRABI LIKES TO THINK BIG. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Concentration in Drawing and Painting from Georgia State University in 2014 and when she was contacted by Jamestown Development to create a mural for Buckhead Village last summer, she wandered over to the shopping district on Peachtree and started to dream. Big. Her work is a 20’ x 14’ mural behind Le Bilboquet, next to COS. A nod to the traditional still-life style of oil painting with a refreshing and contemporary twist, the mural alludes to floral prints in fashion and serves as a timeless, elegant backdrop for shopping and dining. The mural is part of Zarrabi’s series of botanical paintings, titled ‘Femme Petale.’ These surrealist paintings push the idea of reincarnation as represented by flowers, seeing as plants are continually in a state of living and dying. The floral arrangements are illustrated as “melting” to represent a return back to the earth while the flowers represent life itself. Zarrabi’s murals can be found throughout Atlanta and the country,

LOVE WAS DEFINITELY IN THE AIR WHEN BUCKHEAD COUPLE JOHN RUTHERFORD SEYDEL III AND SAVANNAH GENTRY MILLER TIED THE KNOT THREE MONTHS AGO, AS WELL AS A ROOTED RESPECT FOR MOTHER EARTH. You wouldn’t expect anything less from these two young professionals who are not only deeply passionate about the environment but working daily to save our planet – John R is the City of Atlanta’s Director of Sustainability and Savannah is the Vice President of Sustainability for Better Earth, a sustainable packaging solutions company. Their wedding took place November 1 at Lowndes Grove in the bride’s hometown of Charleston, S.C. and, despite the trying times this past year presented, the couple thoughtfully planned a safe and sustainably responsible event. Tangible details included reimagining what others might call “waste.” They transformed the bridal luncheon roses into the petals flower girls tossed down the wedding aisle and used extra fabric from the bridesmaids’ dress alterations for other décor accents. Further, the bride redesigned her maternal grandmother’s wedding dress for the rehearsal, used John R’s family’s heirloom veil and wore her mother’s blusher. To further conserve resources, the couple used the family’s own linen and cocktail napkins at the reception and the bride consigned clothes and supported sustainable brands including Rothy’s, the Reformation and Everlane whenever possible. Beyond developing a largely plant-based menu and exclusively sourcing locally grown, farm-to-table menu ingredients, they composted any remaining food waste from the reception, and they donated all floral arrangements from the ceremony to local assisted living facilities, healthcare workers and teachers. Furthermore, John R and Savannah chose vendors with an eye toward local, sustainable and woman-owned businesses including Bouquets and Bowties (wedding planner), Branch Studio (floral designer), Sara Boyd (photographer) and Jodi Moylan of White Couture (wedding dress designer). Considering the pandemic, the couple chose an intimate outdoor
