The Explore Issue
We're constantly told that our time should be productive and efficient, that every hour deserves a plan and a purpose. I'm guilty of this too. I sometimes catch myself believing that the only things worth doing are the ones I can measure, track, and optimize. But a life scheduled down to the minute leaves out something essential: room to wander.
We need space to discover, to experiment, to be a beginner at something again. So often it's in the unplanned moments that real connections take root, lasting memories take shape, and trust quietly grows.

Exploring can mean a lot of different things, whether it’s a trail you’ve never hiked or wandering into a new neighborhood in search of some offbeat little café.
This issue is an invitation to let your curiosity win and give yourself permission to explore, whether that means a last-minute getaway, picking up a new hobby, or simply carving out unstructured time with the people who matter most.
So let's leave a little room for the unexpected and the unexplored, and remember that this is where the richest connections so often begin.
Happy exploring!

SCIENTIST. SURVIVOR. MOTHER ON A MISSION.
A Conversation with Dr. Christina Rahm
From overcoming her own health challenges to building globally recognized wellness and manufacturing companies, Dr. Christina Rahm’s mission has remained remarkably simple: help people get to the root of the problem and create a healthier future for the next generation.
For people meeting you for the first time, who is Dr. Christina Rahm beyond the titles and credentials?
Honestly, I’m a mom first. The science, the research and the companies all came later. At the center of everything I do is my family and a deep desire to help people live healthier, fuller lives. I grew up in a small town in Missouri in a family that valued faith, education, hard work and helping others. My parents

gave me an incredible foundation and taught me that knowledge comes with responsibility. While our work now reaches families around the world, home is still here in Middle Tennessee. It’s where our children are, where our roots are and where we’re preparing to welcome our first grandchild this summer. That belief in addressing root causes eventually became the foundation for The ROOT Brands, which my husband Clayton Thomas and I co-founded and which now serves families in more than 90 countries. At the end of the day, my mission is simple: help people, strengthen communities and leave the world a little better than I found it.
In an industry crowded with wellness brands, what makes your approach different?
One of the biggest differences is that I’m not simply endorsing formulations. I’m directly involved in creating them. As a scientist, inventor and formulator, I’ve spent years developing technologies and products designed to address some of the environmental and wellness challenges people face today. What’s important to me is maintaining visibility throughout the entire process. From ingredient sourcing and research to formulation development and manufacturing oversight, I believe accountability matters. Many companies outsource much of that process. We’ve chosen a different path because I want to know exactly what’s going into the products we create and the standards behind them. For me, innovation isn’t about creating more products. It’s about creating better solutions people can trust.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I hope people remember that science and compassion can coexist. At the end of the day, I hope people remember that my work was never really about products or companies. It was about helping people. If I’ve encouraged others to ask better questions, take ownership of their health and believe they can create positive change in their own lives, then I’ll feel like I’ve fulfilled my purpose.

HOW
WOW
WINDOWBOXES BRINGS BEAUTY TO YOUR HOME WITHOUT ADDING STRESS
Green Glove concierge
In Williamson County, luxury is not just about square footage or designer finishes. It is about creating beauty without creating more work. When calendars are packed and life rarely slows down, one of the greatest luxuries of all might just be pulling into your driveway and being greeted by a home that looks absolutely beautiful and put together, without lifting a finger to make it happen. That is exactly the kind of magic Fritzi Celentano creates through WOW Windowboxes Nashville. With overflowing seasonal flowers, custom-designed window boxes/planters and worry free maintenance, Celentano has built a business around one simple idea: beauty should feel joyful, not stressful.
CONTINUED >

“I think luxury should make you feel calm and complete, and it shouldn’t come at the cost of stressing you out,” Celentano said. “With WOW’s green glove service, there is no effort on your part to pull it all together. Let WOW do it.”
And that “WOW” moment is exactly what happens when clients first see their homes transformed. Window boxes spill over with color. Trailing vines dance in the breeze. Even homes that already boast gorgeous architecture and landscaping seem to
come alive with new personality custom to the homeowners style.
“I think our window boxes and seasonal plantings are the mascara and lipstick for your home,” Celentano said. Like the perfect lipstick shade, those finishing touches change with the seasons. Bright pinks and lush greenery may take center stage in the summer, while deep reds and evergreens create drama during the holidays.
For homeowners, the best part is that they do not have to think about any of it.
“I think luxury should make you feel calm and complete, and it shouldn’t come at the cost of stressing you out.”
WOW Windowboxes handles the design, installation, irrigation and seasonal plantings, providing a complete green glove experience. Clients simply appreciate the beauty while Celentano and her team handle the hard work behind the scenes. “You can enjoy it right away! Love the drive up to your home or a drink in the backyard,” she said. “We do all the work and we worry about keeping them alive”. That includes one of the company’s most valuable features: customized irrigation systems that take the guesswork out of plant care entirely.
In Tennessee heat, where flowers can wilt quickly under the summer sun, our WOW irrigation system offers something homeowners crave almost as much as beautiful blooms: peace of mind. “Homeowners can go away for the weekend or a month. We check on their plantings.” For busy families, frequent travelers and homeowners juggling demanding schedules, that freedom matters. “Outsourcing something that isn't in your wheelhouse is smart. We want you to love your space right away,” Celentano said.
Because at the end of the day, effortless living is not really about flowers. It is about creating a home that greets you with joy the second you pull into the driveway.

COFFEE, COWBOYS and Community

A DAY OUT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
ARTICLE BY SUE BALDANI | PHOTOGRAPHY

Mindy Campbell of Eagleville was busy being a stay-at-home mom, but she had a dream to open an acoustic music venue. Her husband, country music artist Craig Campbell, always wanted to open a coffee shop. They decided to combine their two goals into one business—Grindstone Cowboy.
“The name came about when Craig misheard Rhinestone Cowboy as Grindstone Cowboy,” she says. “He thought that was a perfect name for a coffee shop with a cowboy theme.”
In 2021, they bought a building in Eagleville and, after renovating it to meet their exact needs, opened it in 2022. Last November, along with partners Mike and Beth Davis, they opened another much larger location in Shelbyville.
“They are similar in the respect that they are very cowboy Western, so a lot of rustic barn wood and cowhides,” says Mindy. She describes Eagleville’s location as having a Hallmark-kind-of feel—very cozy, small, and quaint- while Shelbyville has more

of a Nashville nightlife vibe. It’s also about five times bigger and three stories.
People come from all over, including Brentwood, to enjoy not only the great food and beverages but also the fun events like karaoke, open mic night, Singo, and other musical entertainment.
Eagleville is 25 to 30 minutes from Brentwood. “It’s a beautiful drive out here, so a lot of people like to make the trip,” says Mindy. “We do have some stores, and the Arrington Vineyards is out here. So people could almost make a day of it by going to the vineyards, visiting Lucky Ladd Farms, and stopping at our restaurant for breakfast or lunch.
Nash Family Creamery is up the road from us, so a lot of people will get ice cream there.”
Shelbyville, she says, is about 45 minutes away. “There are shops and bakeries, an art gallery, a river, and a whiskey distillery. The Walking Horse National Celebration and fairgrounds are down there, too. It’s just a very popular area to spend a day.”
live music, a car show, and then a 10-minute message from a pastor.”
Both locations serve breakfast and lunch and offer the same menu in the evenings. “We have biscuits and gravy, burritos, and your basic breakfast foods,” says Mindy. “For lunch, there is a wide variety of options from nachos and Santa Fe wraps to salads, soups, and sandwiches.” Acai bowls and an array of delicious baked goods are also on the menu.
The Outlaw Lattes include the Clint Eastwood (Dark Chocolate, Caramel, and Toffee), Wyatt Earp (Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Hazelnut, and Cinnamon), and Annie Oakley (Honey and Lavender). Of course, regular coffee and espresso are also available, along with smoothies, frappes, juices, and more.

Grindstone Cowboy always has something happening. Every Friday, the venues host trivia game nights, karaoke, open mic, or Singo. On Saturdays, there’s live music.
“In Shelbyville, on July 15th, we’ll have Grammy and CMA award-winning artist Pam Tillis,” says Mindy. “We also have a bunch of hit songwriter nights once a month.”
At the Eagleville location, Coffee, Cars, and Christ is held the first Sunday of every month from 7 to 10 a.m. In Shelbyville, it’s the third Sunday of the month. “We do a cruise-in car show, and a lot of people come to that,” she says. “So you get a little
Mindy and Craig plan to expand Grindstone Cowboy even further. “CreatiVets, an organization that does arts for the military and veterans, bought an old church in The Nations and want a café,” she says. “So, we’ll join with them in a couple of years.”
A Florida location is also on the list. “We already broke ground near Santa Rosa Beach. A friend of ours is opening a gym and wants a cafe, so we’re going to set up camp there too.”
Take a drive out to Grindstone Cowboy in Eagleville or Shelbyville, and enjoy delicious food, amazing drinks, and fun entertainment. @grindstonecowboyeagleville

Writing Her Own Story
AWARD-WINNING HISTORICAL FICTION AUTHOR RUTA SEPETYS REFLECTS ON HER JOURNEY FROM THE MUSIC INDUSTRY TO INTERNATIONAL LITERARY ACCLAIM.
ARTICLE BY MORGAN RAUM | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

Internationally acclaimed, No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Ruta Sepetys is known for her impressive catalog of historical fiction published in over sixty countries and forty languages. Still, her path to becoming an author wasn’t always clear. In the early 90s, Ruta moved to Los Angeles from her hometown of Detroit to intern for the famed songwriter and producer Desmond Child. It was he who encouraged her to start her own artist management firm when he moved to Miami to work with—none other than—Ricky Martin. Ruta was no stranger to management work, as she was already working with Orange County rock band LIT and guitar player Steve Vai. Shortly after starting her boutique artist management firm for film composers, songwriters, musicians, and bands, Ruta decided to move to Music City to build her clientele and find the sense of community she had been longing for.
With an impressive roster of clients and years in the music industry under her belt, Ruta was appointed to the Board of Advisors for Belmont University’s Curb College in 2003, a prestigious distinction recognizing her leadership and contributions to the industry. Ruta’s years at Belmont left a lasting impact, shaping her future in ways both professional and personal. Among the most meaningful moments was meeting her husband, Michael, at Bongo Java, the beloved campus-adjacent coffee shop.
“It became so apparent that the songs and the pieces of music that were successful had an element of the creator in them,” Ruta explains. “It resonated. It was authentic. So, I started asking people about their stories and what inspired the songs. Then, one of my musician clients suggested that I do the same—that I really investigate my own story.”
So, she did. Ruta had dreamed of becoming a writer since the third grade, so when she received advice to pursue her passion more intentionally, she took it to
heart. She joined the Nashville chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, where attendees were encouraged to form local writing groups. Through that initiative, Ruta connected with a small group of five writers who began meeting regularly at the Brentwood Library. What started as a simple gathering of aspiring authors became the catalyst for a remarkable literary career.
“I have been part of that writing group for more than twenty years, and now we’re all published in some form or fashion… and we’re all still dear friends,” she shares. “They see my work before my agent and my editor. I really credit the Brentwood Library, which is still one of my favorite spaces in Brentwood, [for my start as an author].”
Ruta is the daughter of a Lithuanian refugee and was raised in a family of artists, readers, and music lovers. Passionate about using the power of history to foster dialogue and global understanding, she has earned invitations to speak at NATO, the European Parliament, the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, and Embassies worldwide through her research and writing on human resilience. Her latest novel, A Fortune of Sand, was released earlier this month and is set in her hometown of Detroit in 1927. The story follows the powerful Lennox family, an automotive dynasty hiding dangerous secrets, and their youngest daughter, Marjorie, who uncovers a world of intrigue after escaping to an artistic retreat. Inspired by Detroit’s Golden Age and real Prohibitionera stories, the novel explores ambition, power, and how far a family will go to protect its legacy.
“I didn’t publish my first novel—or change careers— until I was forty-five, and now I have eight novels,” she shares. “I’m Lithuanian and have a bit of an obscure cultural heritage. I really wanted to write about that and give a voice to the incredible history of people from the Baltic region that my father is from.”
“It is so much larger than me. I write the books, but I always say, history writes the story.”

Still working full-time in the music industry, Ruta vividly remembers the overwhelming mix of shock, gratitude, and excitement she felt in March of 2011 when she received the call that her debut novel, Between Shades of Gray, had landed on the New York Times bestseller list.
“I didn’t have a launch party, I didn’t have anything at the bookstore, nothing… I was working, and then, the book hit the New York Times bestseller list. I thought, ‘Wait, what is going on?’ I had spent twenty-two years building a career in the music
business… and I [am] going to throw that all away to write books about totalitarianism?”
Awarded fellowships from The University of Oxford in England and The Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center in Italy, Ruta’s work deeply resonates with her readers and students all around the world.
“When people read historical fiction and connect with a character, their heart opens, and they can use their greatest gifts of empathy to care for someone they’ve never met. At that

moment, a statistic becomes a human being. It is so much larger than me. I write the books, but I always say, ‘ History writes the story,” she shares.
Brentwood has played a very pivotal role in Ruta’s story—from getting her start at the Brentwood Library to curating a community of wonderful neighbors and friends who support her every step of the way.
“Something that was very unexpected about becoming a novelist is how much time I would spend on the road,” Ruta shares. “I had this idea that I would be sitting in my office here in Brentwood writing all the time, but now I’m on the road over two hundred days out of the year. I can’t tell you how incredible it is to land in Nashville and come home to Brentwood… it’s such an exhale.”

The Escape You Didn't Know You Needed
Four destinations that balance world-class luxury with the warmth of feeling genuinely at home.
ARTICLE BY SOPHIE BROCK PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel
Tucked into the heart of downtown Cincinnati's Fountain District, the newly opened Fidelity Hotel pulls off a delicate balancing act: honoring the history etched into its walls while delivering the modern luxury experience today's travelers expect. The result is a property that feels both rooted and refreshingly new, one that resonates far beyond its overnight guests.
“Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel (is) the first of its kind in the city, and we are incredibly honored to open our doors to both visitors and the local community this summer,” said Michael Dunbar, the General Manager of Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel. “From the beginning, our vision has been to create more than just a hotel, we want Fidelity
to feel like a true gathering place. A place where travelers and locals alike feel welcomed, inspired, and connected.”
That balance is most visible in the building itself. Cincinnati's Fidelity Hotel occupies the Gwynne Building, a 1913 Beaux-Arts landmark designed by architect Ernest Flagg that once served as the headquarters of Procter & Gamble, which remains one of downtown Cincinnati's most iconic addresses. From the start, the team approached the property with a deep respect for that architectural heritage, working within the integrity of the original design to preserve its limestone façade, grand proportions, and historic detailing while reimagining the interior as a modern, high-end hospitality experience.
Rather than compete with the building's historic character, the design leans into it with its original details, scale, and craftsmanship informing every decision throughout the restoration. Modern comforts were
then layered in with care: contemporary furnishings, rich textures, elevated technology, and spaces shaped around how people actually gather, work, dine, and relax today. Every layer of the project, from structural upgrades to branding, was guided by a desire to let the building's original craftsmanship shine while introducing a new sense of warmth and contemporary energy. The firm responsible for bringing that vision to life, Looney & Associates, focused not only on the design of the hotel but also on its storytelling.
“The result is a hotel that feels timeless,” Looney & Associates explains.
“Guests can experience the grandeur and elegance of a historic Beaux-Arts property while still enjoying the warmth, comfort, and seamless hospitality expected from a contemporary lifestyle hotel. We wanted the experience to feel sophisticated but never pretentious - refined, welcoming, and deeply connected to Cincinnati’s identity.”

Step outside and the hotel's sense of place comes into focus. Fidelity Hotel sits in the heart of the Fountain District, one of the most exciting and culturally vibrant areas in downtown Cincinnati.
Centered around the iconic Fountain Square and steps from the city's major sports venues, museums, and convention centers, the newly designated district blends historic architecture, celebrated culinary destinations, and arts and entertainment venues into an energetic, pedestrian-friendly atmosphere that captures Cincinnati's momentum right now. For a hotel designed with both travelers and the local community in mind, it's a fitting address, and one the team sees as more than just a convenient location.
“What makes the area especially compelling is its sense of authenticity,” Michael points out. “Cincinnati has a rich architectural and cultural history, and the Fountain District reflects that beautifully, honoring the
“Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel was created to celebrate the character, creativity, and warmth of Cincinnati while delivering a hospitality experience that feels refined yet welcoming.”
past while embracing a fresh, modern energy. That same philosophy is very much reflected within Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel itself.”
Still, guests don't need to step outside to find an experience worth the trip. Fidelity Hotel offers 165 guest rooms – including 17 suites and two bunkrooms – alongside more than 7,700 square feet of meeting and event space, making it as suited to a weekend getaway as it is to a corporate offsite.
At the center of the hotel's culinary offerings is Gwynne, Fidelity Hotel's signature restaurant serving an elevated yet approachable menu rooted in thoughtful hospitality." A private dining room adds a more intimate setting for chef-driven dinners and celebrations. Just around the corner, Cora's Café pours a locally sourced coffee program alongside housemade pastries, with an adjoining market stocked with artisanal goods, gifts, and grab-and-go offerings. Designed for locals and overnight guests alike, Cora's is an
invitation to discover Cincinnati's makers without ever leaving the property.
Taken together, it's a property that lives up to its billing as more than just a hotel. It’s a welcoming gathering place and an ideal home base for business and leisure stays alike.
“We want guests to remember how the hotel made them feel: cared for, inspired, comfortable, and immersed in the unique rhythm of downtown Cincinnati,” Michael says. “Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel was created to celebrate the character, creativity, and warmth of Cincinnati while delivering a hospitality experience that feels refined yet welcoming. From the intentional design details to the culinary experiences and personalized service, every element is meant to create moments that feel memorable rather than transactional.”

Ritz-Carlton Naples
Situated directly on the white sands of Southwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, overlooking the Gulf, the Ritz-Carlton Naples is a unique destination that beautifully balances refined luxury with a relaxed, coastal lifestyle, allowing guests immediate access to world-class ecotourism.
“The heart and soul of our brand has always been our Ladies and Gentlemen,” said Andrew Rogers, Market General Manager for
The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples. “Having spent over 30 years with The Ritz-Carlton globally, I am immensely proud of the team here in Naples. We have a beautiful blend of long-standing pillars, some who have been with us since our opening decades ago, working alongside passionate new talent. Their dedication to anticipating guest needs and personalizing service is what makes our hospitality an art form."
What truly sets the resort apart is the synergy between its physical transformation and its legendary service heritage. Following the recent "Evolution of an Icon" restoration,
the property introduced the Vanderbilt Tower, featuring an exclusive "hotel within a hotel" experience anchored by the RitzCarlton Club Lounge. There, guests enjoy private check-in and check-out, a dedicated personal concierge team, and completely revitalized, curated dining presentations throughout the day. But luxury here is about more than world-class amenities.
“Generations of families return to us year after year because our Ladies and Gentlemen create deeply personalized, unforgettable moments that make this resort feel like a true home away from home,” said Rogers.

These moments are made all the easier by the resort's exceptional culinary offerings and restorative wellness spaces.
The dining scene spans a range of experiences designed to suit every palate. Sofra serves vibrant Mediterranean cuisine, while Nolita channels the refined traditions of New York-style Italian cooking. At The Grill, timeless elegance meets award-winning steaks, and Dusk pairs signature sushi with expertly crafted cocktails. Tying it all together, the Lobby Bar serves as the resort's sophisticated social hub, anchored by a masterfully curated Champagne experience.

Wellness receives equal attention. The resort's 51,000-square-foot spa balances classic relaxation with a modern focus on longevity, inviting guests to move through a specialized Wellness Circuit of hot and cold plunges, an infrared sauna, and a eucalyptus steam room, a sequence designed to leave both body and mind fully rejuvenated.
Looking ahead, the resort will continue to champion active luxury and sustainability. Its sister property – The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón – is also undergoing a "Sanctuary Reimagined" transformation,
debuting fresh accommodations and new culinary spaces that together promise a multi-dimensional resort experience across both destinations.
From sunrise on the beach to a nightcap at the Lobby Bar, the Ritz-Carlton Naples proves that everything you could want from a getaway lives within its own gates. Here, the world-class comes to you, and the only real decision is how and when you choose to indulge.

Biltmore Estate
Few places capture the American imagination quite like Biltmore Estate. Established in 1895 in the Blue Ridge foothills of Asheville, North Carolina, this 8,000-acre estate is known as America's Largest Home, surrounded by gardens, managed forests, farmland, a working vineyard, and more than 20 miles of nature trails. Yet for all its Gilded Age splendor, Biltmore has never been a museum frozen in time. Between Antler Hill Village's shops, an award-winning winery, four-star
accommodations, and live entertainment, the estate hums with the energy of a place still very much alive. That forward motion is no accident, it's a principle handed down through generations of the family that has stewarded this National Historic Landmark for more than a century.
"One of the core philosophies passed down through the generations of my family is that we can't stand still,'" said Chase Pickering, VP Guest Experience. "To properly steward a national historic landmark, you have to keep moving ahead. Looking to the future, our focus remains on balancing historic preservation with continued innovation of the guest experience."
One of the most striking ways Biltmore reimagines that experience is by showing visitors the estate as they've never seen it. Enter Luminere, a first-of-its-kind evening transformation that casts the estate in a whole new light. Created with experiential art studio Klip Collective, this immersive, self-paced experience pairs seven projections mapped across the château's façade and gardens with an original score recorded alongside the Asheville Symphony. Each projection tells a distinct chapter of Biltmore's story, and six breathe new life into the gardens, turning Frederick Law Olmsted's daytime landscapes into something dreamlike after

dark. The result is more than a light show, it's a reawakening of the magic that once filled these grounds.
"When the idea for Luminere began to take shape, our team looked back at archives and family stories, specifically focusing on descriptions of the glamorous 1920s-era garden parties hosted right here on the grounds," said Pickering. "The remembered long-ago gatherings and celebrations hosted throughout Biltmore's history became our creative guidance. We wanted to recreate that exact sense of wonder and magic, but translate it for the modern traveler."
The magic isn't reserved for after dark, either. Summer is when Olmsted's vision
comes into its own, the grounds vibrant with color, a mountain breeze keeping things cool, and miles of trails wide open. Pair a daytime house tour with an evening at Luminere and you experience a bit of everything: a deep dive into Biltmore's history by day, and the innovation it continues to pioneer by night. It's a true reflection of the American spirit—honoring the past while constantly inventing the future.
"We are constantly finding new ways to tell the diverse stories of the people who lived and worked here, utilizing new research and technology to make those narratives more accessible. We are also deeply committed to expanding our
environmental stewardship and sustainability efforts across our forests and agricultural lands," said Pickering. "Every visit, overnight stay, and ticket purchased funds this ongoing mission. We are ensuring that Biltmore remains a living, breathing, and relevant landmark in American history."
George Vanderbilt built this estate not just as a home, but as a sanctuary where the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains could coexist with new ideas in agriculture and forestry, a testament to American ingenuity and visionary preservation.

Amelia Island
Amelia Island offers a side of Florida that many travelers don't expect. Set on the state's northeast coast, the barrier island stretches across 13 miles of whitesand beaches, maritime forests, and state parks, yet feels far more relaxed than the typical Florida beach destination. It's exactly why the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, is one of the best places to soak up the sun this summer.
"What truly sets The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island apart is the real sense of escape guests feel here and the unique opportunity
to truly connect with the landscape and local culture of Amelia Island," said Joseph Murphy, director of marketing at The RitzCarlton, Amelia Island. "We've found that our guests today are looking for more meaningful travel experiences that ground them in their destinations."
On Amelia Island, there's no shortage of things to do, starting with the resort's recently launched Signature Experiences, each designed to reflect the island's natural beauty, heritage, and culture. They range from culinary offerings like The Art of Personalized Mixology to wellness sessions such as Mindful Mala Bracelet Making and Deep Relaxation Meditation, plus nature adventures including Driftwood
Beach & Blackrock Trail Exploration, The Forts & Fossils Excursion, and Echoes of the Ocean: Dolphin Discovery, where guests help track and record dolphin behavior for an ongoing research study.
"The island's natural beauty is one of its strongest draws, popular for biking, kayaking, paddleboarding, boating, golfing, dolphin watching, birding, and even horseback riding along the beach," Murphy said. "Beyond the shoreline, the destination has a rich history and strong sense of character."
Nicknamed the "Island of Eight Flags" for its history under a string of different nations and rulers, Amelia Island blends easygoing Southern charm with real

historic depth. Much of that character lives in Fernandina Beach, the historic downtown, where Victorian-era architecture frames local boutiques, galleries, and waterfront restaurants.
That said, you don't need to leave the resort to feel like you've gotten away. The resort packs a full day's worth of options onto the property itself, with three pools, a golf course, tennis courts, and a fitness center, plus designer boutiques and children's programs. All 446 guest rooms have been renovated, and each comes with a private balcony framing the Atlantic.
Once guests arrive, much of what keeps them there comes down to two things: what's on the plate and how they unwind.
"Our culinary and wellness programs are both such central pieces of the guest experience here, and we've worked intentionally to create offerings that feel elevated while still deeply connected to Amelia Island," Murphy said.
On the food side, that means fresh seafood and refined coastal cooking across several venues, anchored by Salt, the resort's signature restaurant, led by Chef Okan Kizilbayir. Guests who want to get closer can book Chef's Theater, an intimate cooking demonstration, or Hook, Line & Supper, which sends them onto the water with a chef and then serves the catch back at the resort.
All of that builds toward the year's biggest culinary event, the return of the Amelia Island Cookout, Oct. 15-18.

"We're thrilled to bring top chefs, sommeliers, mixologists, and culinary talent back to the island again this year, and we'll be introducing even more immersive culinary experiences throughout the weekend, from a fishing experience with the chefs, a sunset wine cruise, a cigar and port experience, a Southern-style oyster roast, and beyond," Murphy said.
Easygoing, scenic, and quietly luxurious, Amelia Island is Florida at its most unhurried, and the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island is the perfect place to take it all in.

A Look Inside Folds of Honor and Its Mission to Honor America’s Heroes Through Education
Home of the Free,
Because of the Brave
Dedicated to honoring those who make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, Folds of Honor is dedicated to uniting Americans and using their platform to educate their legacy. Providing life-changing educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military service members and first responders, Folds of Honor’s impact far exceeds financial support—it changes the trajectory of lives, opens doors to new possibilities, and carries forward the legacy of service and sacrifice.

Founded in 2007, Folds of Honor was inspired by a life-changing moment experienced by Lt Col. Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard and a PGA golf professional. Returning home from his second deployment to Iraq, Rooney witnessed the solemn return of a fallen American service member. He watched as the hero’s twin brother walked alongside the flag-draped casket to meet grieving family members on the tarmac, including the service member’s young son. Since that moment, Lt Col. Dan Rooney has been committed to rallying patriotic Americans and meeting sacrifice with hope through Folds of Honor. What began as a single mission has since grown into a nationwide movement, with chapters across the country working to support military and first responder families in their own communities. Among those helping lead that effort is Lisa Norris, Vice President of the Executive Board of Directors for Folds of Honor Tennessee, who has played an instrumental role in shaping the Tennessee chapter into what it is today.
“Folds of Honor, the national organization, is still based out of Oklahoma, but we have multiple chapters around the United States. I was actually one of the founders of the Tennessee chapter,” Norris explains. “There are five of us that started it back in January 2020; Lee Brice is a huge supporter of Folds of Honor, so he did some virtual concerts for us that very first initial year. This is our sixth year now, and it’s been really great to see how the crowds have grown the momentum behind it.”
Over the past two decades, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 73,000 scholarships totaling over $340 million in all fifty states. Their educational scholarships support private school tuition or tutoring in grades K-12, tuition for college, technical or trade school, and post-graduate work, including a master’s degree, doctorate, or professional program.

“We provide life-changing educational scholarships to the children and spouses of American fallen or disabled military service members and first responders,” Norris explains. “Our mission is to honor their sacrifice, and educate their legacy, and unite Americans around all those who serve.”
For the past six years, Folds of Honor Tennessee has helped kick off the first night of CMA Fest week in Nashville by hosting their annual Rock ‘N Jock* Celebrity Softball tournament.
Sponsored by Black Rifle Coffee Company, this year’s event brought together more than 9,000 fans at Nashville’s First Horizon Park and raised a record-breaking $710,308 to provide educational scholarships for the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military service members and first responders. The all-star evening included celebrities, athletes, first responders and veterans—all in a friendly competition to support Folds of Honor’s mission. Team Military, led by captain Riley Green, took home the win. In addition to the softball tournament, Folds of Honor is gearing up to host the Annual Freedom Invitational next month at The Governor’s Club. The event is set to take place on Monday, August 24th, and will feature a group of top-tier talent.
“Governor’s Club has been a really great partner of ours,” Norris shares. “We actually have Scott Bailey, the Head PGA Golf Professional at Governor’s Club on our board... he’s amazing at putting together golf tournaments, and we’re so thankful that so many people come out and support us.”
With America celebrating its 250th anniversary this month, Norris shares that they are more proud than ever to represent the red, white, and blue. As Folds of Honor continues to grow its impact, the organization remains committed to honoring their legacy by investing in the lives and futures of their families.

“THE FOLDED FLAG IS A CONSTANT REMINDER OF THOSE WHO PAY THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR FREEDOM. I THINK IT INSPIRES US TO EDUCATE THEIR LOVED ONES AND GIVE SUPPORT. IT'S BEEN FUN TO SEE HOW MUCH FOLDS OF HONOR HAS GROWN THROUGH THE YEARS.“

BUILDING A LEGACY OF HEARING HEALTH
NEW TECHNOLOGY AND BETTER EDUCATION ARE OPTIMIZING THE ABILITY TO HEAR MORE CLEARLY
ARTICLE BY SUE BALDANI PHOTOGRAPHY BY HUNTER HART

When Dr. Rebecca Grome took over Ears4U Hearing Service in Berry Hill in 2018, she was the only audiologist. Now, eight years later, there are three audiologists, an audiologist assistant, and an additional office in Brentwood.
One thing that has stayed the same is its exceptional care for patients through tried-and-true treatments while embracing new technology. Like in most other industries, AI is expanding its footprint in the hearing aid industry.
“People often don't realize that the average age for fitting hearing aids in our office is around 53 years old.”

“We’ve had AI in hearing aids for a long time for data tracking purposes,” she says. “Meaning, if a patient comes into my office and has a specific complaint, I can go into the software and monitor how the hearing aid is responding to the wearer’s environment as well as what adjustments they are making.”
AI-assisted hearing aids are doing much more now. “They’re using AI technology to sift through background noise and to find dominant speech signals,” Rebecca says. “The devices adjust what the microphones are doing based on AI technology to optimize listening situations.”
Another big change, and not necessarily for the better, is the government’s deregulation of hearing aids, enabling consumers to buy them over the counter. “That might sound great, but who’s going to program them for their specific needs, who’s going to teach them how to clean them, and who’s going to make sure they’re working right?” says Dr. Grome. These are all services performed at Ears4U.
There are also increasing issues with insurance coverage for hearing aids. “Hearing health has become a luxury, and it really shouldn’t be,” she says. “There
are plans that cover hearing aids, but it’s pretty rare that someone can walk in the door and not have a significant out-ofpocket expense remaining.”
When people think about hearing aids, many believe they don’t have to worry about them until they get much older, but that’s far from the truth. “People often don’t realize that the average age for fitting hearing aids in our office is around 53 years old.”
Hearing loss is also progressive, so it often creeps up on people. “It’s better for people to obtain hearing aids early on because that way it’s less of an adjustment,”

“Outside of the standard hearing evaluation and hearing aids, we also specialize in tinnitus, have a robust musician population, and routinely perform wax removal.”
says Dr. Grome. “If they wait 30 years before obtaining amplification, it’s a much more abrasive transition.”
The good news is that younger people are being educated about hearing health. Even iPhones are helping. When users listen to music too loudly through their headphones, a pop-up warning appears. It’s now common to see marketing aimed at music professionals and industries where loud noises are the norm.
“We’re seeing a lot more young people come in for custom hearing protection and annual hearing tests because, with Nashville being such a big music city, there are a lot of people who go to concerts for their entertainment,” she says. “We also have a big hunting community here, so there’s been a lot of dialogue about custom hearing protection for that.”
Young people may often be more aware of the challenges of hearing loss from watching family members struggle with the condition. “We have so many adult children come in and say, ‘I want to get a baseline hearing test and some hearing protection because I don’t want to be like my dad or grandfather.’”
Some of the services offered at Ears4U are not always available at other audiology practices. “Outside of the standard hearing evaluation and hearing aids, we also specialize in tinnitus, have a robust musician population, and routinely perform wax removal,” says Dr. Grome.
The practice also works with the veteran population for compensation and pension evaluations.
Another focus now is on physician marketing. “Tinnitus patients don’t always know where to turn because there are so many practitioners saying there’s nothing that can be done about it. Most of our physician marketing revolves around making sure PCP’s can refer their patients to someone who knows how to help them.”
Hearing health is ever improving and changing, but Dr. Grome is ready. “We have our processes and procedures down, and an amazing staff,” she says. “The best thing about a small practice is we can adapt quickly to the changes.”

The Art of Going Farther

HOW THE LAMBORGHINI TEMERARIO BALANCES EXTREME PERFORMANCE WITH THE COMFORT TO TAKE IT ANYWHERE.
ARTICLE BY SOPHIE BROCK | PHOTOGRAPHY BY LATHROP SCHMIDT
Some machines don’t just take you somewhere; they make the journey the entire point.
The all-new Lamborghini Temerario is exactly that kind of car.
Pairing an extraordinary twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain with the raw, emotional character Lamborghini has always been known for, the Temerario redefines what it means to explore. Its throttle response is immediate, its connection to the road is visceral, and every input feels like a conversation between driver and machine. Then there’s the engine, a V8 that screams to 10,000 rpm, a figure virtually unheard of in today’s automotive world, that transforms every road into something worth discovering.
“The Temerario was built for experiences,” Jeremy Hunziker of Lamborghini Nashville points out. “The larger cabin, improved comfort, and drivability make it a car you genuinely want to spend time in, whether that is a weekend road trip through Tennessee or a cross-country driving experience. It delivers the emotion and excitement you expect from Lamborghini, but with a level of refinement and usability that encourages you to keep driving farther. It is the type of car that turns the journey itself into the destination.”
But raw performance alone doesn’t make a great travel car. What separates the Temerario from its predecessors is how

"It delivers the emotion and excitement you expect from Lamborghini, but with a level of refinement and usability that encourages you to keep driving farther. It is the type of car that turns the journey itself into the destination.”

liveable it is, a supercar that doesn’t ask you to compromise the moment you leave the city limits.
“The Temerario strikes a unique balance between extreme performance and everyday usability,” Jeremy explains. “Yes, it is incredibly fast, but it is also surprisingly approachable and comfortable to drive around town or on longer trips. Lamborghini also designed the interior cabin to be more spacious than prior generations, with more room for luggage and travel, which opens the door for clients who want a supercar they can genuinely enjoy beyond short, spirited drives. It feels like a true evolution of what a modern Lamborghini can be.”
And that evolution extends beyond the car itself. The Temerario isn’t just changing what Lamborghini drivers can do, it’s changing who they can do it with. A supercar you can genuinely travel in is one you can share, and that opens up a different kind of conversation about what owning a Lamborghini actually means.
“What makes Lamborghini special today is not just the cars themselves, but the experiences and community surrounding the brand,” Jeremy says. “The Temerario

represents that perfectly, it delivers incredible performance and emotion, but it is also a car designed to be driven, enjoyed, and shared with others. That balance is what makes this next chapter for Lamborghini so exciting.”
That next chapter is already well underway. The Temerario is a car that demands to be driven, explored, and experienced firsthand. And this summer, there are more ways than ever to do exactly that. Whether you’re watching it turn heads at a concours, hearing it scream through a mountain pass, or simply catching it at a Sunday morning gathering over coffee, the experience always comes back to the same thing: the feeling that this is what driving is supposed to be.
This month, Lamborghini Nashville will participate in the 2026 Keeneland Concours in Lexington, while continuing its local Bulls & Bagels gatherings and a series of exclusive client activations throughout the summer. In addition, Lamborghini’s headquarters will host multiple Esperienza driving events across the country, as well as this year’s Giro program through Yellowstone. The season will ultimately build toward Monterey Car Week, where several exciting new platforms and experiences will debut.
For more information on upcoming events, check out Lamborghini Nashville’s social media or visit their website.

The 10% Target Mindset
Jen Cohen ON THE PRACTICE OF ASKING FOR WHAT YOU WANT
Winnipeg in the winter, and a 17-year-old waits 45 minutes in the cold for Keanu Reeves. Her fingers are numb. She is not there for an autograph. She is there to ask him to appear in her audition tape for MuchMusic, Canada’s MTV. When he finally agrees, she writes her number on a gum wrapper with a borrowed lip liner.
He calls days later.
That 17-year-old was Jen Cohen — fitness expert, host of the Habits & Hustle podcast, and best-selling author. She has built a career on the premise her frostbitten afternoon proved. She calls the practice the 10% Target: 10 attempts at whatever you want most in life.
The premise is simple. Most people never make one attempt. Almost nobody makes two. The math works in favor of the person who keeps going.
The top-rated Habits & Hustle podcast has logged hundreds of conversations with high performers and the people who study what the body does to the mind. Her TEDx talk, The Secret to Getting Anything You Want in Life, has traveled widely inside Fortune 500 sales-training rooms. On the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Cohen sits down to share the working rules that are the foundation of her latest book, Bigger, Better, Bolder.
“You have to be the CEO of your own life.”

MAKE TEN ATTEMPTS
The door opens, or another door does. The unmade attempt and the refused one leave you in the same place — except one of them teaches you something.
STACK THE DECK
Cohen frames her habits as a wager: How do I stack the deck so I win more than I lose? The workout happens first, and the food decisions follow. The email follow-up gets sent, and the answer arrives. The choices compound in a single direction.
3
DISCIPLINE IS A PRACTICED SKILL, NOT AN INHERITANCE
No one is born with it. The people who look disciplined are running a routine they have rehearsed long enough that it no longer feels like effort. The reps are the skill. Miss them, and the skill fades, the same as any other.
4
SELF-TALK ONLY WORKS WHEN THE BODY BACKS IT UP
Confidence does not arrive by repeating the word. It arrives after the body has done the thing — the workout finished, the cold walk endured, the email sent. The mind takes its cues from what the body proves it can do. Talk follows action, not the other way around.
5
NEVER MISS A MONDAY
The first decision sets the slope of the rest. Skip the Monday workout, and the rest of the week tends to follow. Hold the line on Monday, and the slope tilts the other way.
