Our smiles are found on the faces of some of the most high-profile people in the world — movie stars, music celebrities, professional athletes, and models... ...but you don’t have to be famous to enjoy the benefits that a beautiful, natural-looking smile can bring!

Come see why people from all walks of life choose us to enhance their smile

Dr. Wells and his staff welcomed me with open arms from the very beginning. I shared my insecurities within my smile, and Dr. Wells worked tediously to help perfect my smile. I appreciate the time and energy spent to create the confident smile that I had longed for. The care and patience that I received were top notch. Because of Dr. Wells I was able to smile brightly and confidently for all to see as I graced the Miss USA stage. Thank you, Dr. Wells for taking the time to give me the most natural looking beautiful smile.

Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee

With Augusta only 85 miles away, it’s no wonder golf is one of the top attractions at Reynolds Lake Oconee. Sean Cain is the director of The Kingdom at Reynolds Lake Oconee, and has 20-plus years of experience as a club professional. However, Sean not only helps club members shave a few strokes off their game, he’s also coached several PGA Tour pros. “I jumped at the opportunity to work at this spectacular property,” says Sean. “The amenities offered here are above and beyond the average country club membership, so to say this place is unique is an understatement.” Years ago, The Kingdom formed a partnership with golf equipment maker TaylorMade. Today, golfers from across the country – ranging from touring pros to beginning golfers – make the trek to Reynolds Lake Oconee to have their clubs fitted and made especially for their game. With two club construction trailers on-site that spent their previous life on the PGA Tour, golfers can have their TaylorMade clubs fitted and made within 8 to 24 hours. Sean and his team review a guest’s swing, make recommendations for their club fitting, build their new clubs onsite, allowing them the opportunity to play a round or two on one of the property’s six courses.

The sporting grounds director and designer, Justin Jones, was retained in 2017 to create an experience that guests will remember for decades. One of the highlights of his creation is the sporting clays course. Members and guests, even beginners, are taught how to safely handle and shoot shotguns and air rifles. Experienced guides lead the shooters around 20 signature locations to shoot clays while absorbing the resort’s gorgeous landscape. “About 80 percent of our guests have never shot before,” says Justin. “The question we hear most often after their first experience is ‘Do you know where the nearest sporting club is near my home city?’ That says volumes about us.” There’s so much more to experience at Reynolds Lake Oconee, including watersports on the 19,000-acre Lake Oconee, 10 restaurants, a tennis center, and extensive programming for their more than 4,000 members. 30

continuing with them into the brewery’s new era. That first year unfortunately was laced with the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the team relied on to-go orders and even launched a new line of IPAs during that critical period of fluctuations. “We continued focusing on making small batches and low runs, with Lil’ Darlin remaining as a flagship option. We also provided seasonal beverages, and did really well at our Oktoberfest event last year with a smooth German lager. Now, we’re into a fresh year, and eager to keep incorporating customers’ important feedback,” says Mark. Founded in 2015, the brewery was launched to offer light-beer suds from original recipes. Due to unique hop profiles and soft mouthfeel, the brewery has a strong following throughout Tennessee via restaurants, as well as grocery, liquor and convenience stores.

Most sporting events lock in spectators once they pass through the gate--not the Music City Grand Prix. Rather than simply hosting the event, Nashville is very much a part of the race day attraction. This spectacle of speed is happening thanks to the hard work and careful planning of three, key individuals who live in Nashville: Matt Crews, Chris Parker, and Jason Rittenberry. Matt Crews, the CEO, worked on building the team and putting the investors together. In Matt’s words, he “put good people in place and got out of their way.” Chris Parker, event president, is overseeing all business operations, marketing, PR and budget-

Jason Rittenberry is chief of operations, and brings decades of experience working with racetracks, Indycar, NASCAR, drag racing and racing teams. Supplementing the key players are a host of consultants and experts, all focused on building a safe and entertaining racing experience. Incredibly, everything about this event rested on the approval of one man: former racing driver and owner of Indycar Roger Penske. Roger says he was very impressed with the growth of Nashville since his last visit and following a thoroughly prepared presentation and tour of the proposed race circuit, he had only three words, “‘Let’s go racing.’” Given the green flag, the local team shifted into high gear applying their decades of experience and knowledge to ensure the newest attraction on the Indycar calendar is the high point of the season. They say the pieces fell into place smoothly and quickly; city permits were applied for, hotel room blocks were reserved, 700 to 800 race day

staff members, on track safety teams and more than 100 firefighters were assembled. Under ideal conditions, an event of this size and scope requires 18 months of preparation, but greenlight to race day, the team had only 11 months. Like the sleek racecar that will cross hallowed ground and enter the winners’ circle in August, the team has worked with pace and precision to make this dream happen. The impact of this event will be impossible to quantify with just numbers. The helicopter shot of race cars crossing the bridge as the summer sun sets low behind Nashville will be iconic. That image likely will be included in every single racing highlight reel of 2021, and every race to follow as well as any promotional material about Nashville. No other major racing event crosses a bridge as long and as high as the Korean Veterans bridge so that shot alone will redefine Nashville as a motorsports town. A racing town. To witness history and be a part of the biggest event of the year, get tickets before the green flag flies.

DIVERSE TEAM OF BUSINESS, SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT PERSONALITIES WORKING HARD TO BRING BASEBALL TO MUSIC CITY

NASHVILLE STARS HOPE TO BREAK PRO BASEBALL’S MOLD WHEN JOHN LOAR SAT BACK AND TOOK A 30,000-FOOT VIEW OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TEAMS ACROSS AMERICA, NASHVILLE AND THE MIDDLE TENNESSEE REGION STOOD OUT AS A POTENTIAL SITE FOR A MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL FRANCHISE. The first order of business involved assembling a star-studded roster of business and entertainment icons to advance the project’s mission.

46

Brentwood Lifestyle | April 2021

ARTICLE PAUL STANLEY | PHOTOGRAPHY ASHLEY HYLBERT That objective has largely been achieved when organizing the Music City Baseball roster. Along with John, top organization leaders include former United States Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, local attorney and philanthropist Lee Barfield, former Titans’ standout Eddie George, community activist Gail Williams, and syndicated media personality Bobby Bones. “I’m so excited to join the initiative to bring Major League Baseball to Nashville,” says Bobby. “Our city is second to none in bridging together sports and music, making it the perfect destination. I’m thrilled to help push forward the movement by joining Music City Baseball’s efforts to honor the incredible history of the Nashville Stars, as well as pave the way for the future of MLB in Nashville.” Nashville is home to three major league sports teams: the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, NHL’s Nashville Predators, and USL Nashville Soccer Club. Also, the Nashville Sounds are the AAA minor league affiliate of MLB’s Milwaukee Brewers. In 2015 the Sounds began to play in their new ballpark located near downtown Nashville. Today there are 30 MLB teams, and this Nashville group is rolling out the city’s bright red carpet with hopes of becoming one of the two teams that could join MLB’s elite ranks. The effort is generating excitement, yet the group realizes the climb ahead is steep. There is no guarantee of success. For starters, the MLB does not have any immediate plans to expand, and two teams within its ranks - Tampa Bay and Oakland have financial challenges. Both are attempting to finance new stadiums. Current owners are grappling with slumping revenue as a result of COVID-19. Nonetheless, the Nashville group understands that hitting lots of singles and getting on base is the first step to scoring. Former MLB all-star and general manager Dave Stewart is also helping bring big-league baseball to Nashville. One of his objectives is to create a team which includes minority ownership, and Middle Tennessee seems to fit the bill. “We believe Nashville is one of the top sports cities in the world,” John stresses. “Our efforts to acquire an MLB team involve more than baseball. Building a venue to host entertainment events in addition to baseball is our goal. I know our entertainment advisory board members are excited at this possibility.”

MESS-FREE

O UTD O O R S SAFE, SYNTHETIC GRASS TURF FOR MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS CAN PROVIDE A GREENER WORLD WITH SYNTHETIC TURF, THE ONLY LIMIT IS ONE’S IMAGINATION, ASSURES CHAZ BRAGG, SYNTHETIC TURF INTERNATIONAL DEALER FOR NASHVILLE. “We can transform backyards, rooftops, pool spots or commercial areas into wonderfully helpful and enjoyable spaces.” ARTICLE JULIE BROWN PATTON

These types of yard and poolscape updates help to avoid dirt, mud and footprints being tracked inside homes by children and pets, he says. “Our SoftLawn turf also is great for the many parts of Nashville with so much shade from trees or buildings, grass can’t grow,” Chaz says. He adds that turf putting greens also are popular installations across the Music City. In fact, many applications are for athletic and leisure purposes, including pet turfs; baseball batting cages; tee lines and hitting mats; tennis courts; bocce ball courts; sports fields; and playgrounds.

Brentwood Lifestyle | April 2021

1

VIRTUALLY MAINTENANCE-FREE LAWNS Compared to grass, Chaz says turf requires no mowing or regular watering, except perhaps for occasional rinsing regarding pet urine. “All you really need is a blower for removing sticks and leaves,” he adds. He also says STI’s proprietary SilverBack adhesive holds turf yarn and backing in place, making it an especially good option to deter dogs that like to dig.

2

CHEMICAL-FREE LANDSCAPING Made with recycled and biodegradable materials, Chaz says STI turf provides health safety and less worries compared to grass yards that typically need fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals for upkeep. He says his turf clients appreciate the peace of mind from no direct contact with chemicals that could transfer to hands and feet.

3

MESS-FREE OUTDOORS Children, pets and guests aren’t coming in direct contact with messy ground conditions on rainy days or during certain seasons. “They like the consistency and predictability of our turf. It means no or at least less mopping up afterward,” he adds.

4

USA MADE Founded in 1995, all STI materials are manufactured in Georgia. As one of the most advanced and heaviest synthetic turfs the industry offers, Chaz says they’re super proud to offer the highest quality turf solutions in the United States as well as internationally. Projects are priced based on square footage of turf needed, explains Chaz, with typical projects taking three to five days to complete from design to install. Larger projects may need up to two weeks to finalize. chaz@synturfintl.com 615.669.2440 STIOfNashville.com
