You never know exactly what you’re going to walk into. You’ve got some control over the intent of your standards, but other than that it’s a response to the kids and how they respond to you, and there’s such an engagement piece to that.”

Nathan Cummings Brentwood Middle School Now in his sixth year with Williamson County, Nathan Cummings teaches eighth grade American history at Brentwood Middle School. He says the best part of his job is working with students. “I enjoy seeing the kids learn. For more, that’s the whole point of teaching. It’s about seeing the light bulb (turn on) and being there when it happens.”
