As a Native,
I know the Treasure Valley. I know Idaho. As a proud husband and father, I fully understand the importance of family and the individual needs each person has during the process of buying or selling a home. I also understand the level of trust my clients have given me to navigate them through one of their biggest financial decision of their lives. I have and will always exceed their expectations through out the process and make sure they feel as if they are being taken care of like family.

IDEAS LIKE THESE CREATE A SOUL AND STORY FOR THE HOME AS IF YOU TRAVELED THERE
42
Boise Lifestyle | July 2021
All of the furniture selections would be carefully thought out and integrate seamlessly with the overall esthetic of the home. “Being part of the Parade of Homes has always been an honor,” says Amy, “and will showcase our capabilities and leave a lasting impression for years to come. This is why Echelon doesn’t just stage homes. We want the furnishings to feel as custom as the rest of the home,” Amy explains. Amy travels to major furniture markets just so she can see the pieces in person, hand-selecting every furnishing and accessories to be set in place. “It takes many man hours making our Parade Homes stand out,” she emphasized. It is clear that Amy and Echelon really enjoyed working on this parade home not only because it was a beautiful home, but when she got to know the homeowners she understood how they wanted to incorporate some of their special furnishings, such as a locally commissioned art piece depicting Yosemite National Park painted in vibrant hues of blues and golds. A Mora clock found in a Scandinavian antique store represents owner Mindi Roser’s Scandinavian heritage. She and Amy chose a custom paint color to refinish the clock and placed it in a cozy guest room, making it feel like a bed and breakfast suite. According to Amy, “Ideas like these create a soul and story for the home as if you traveled there.” Starting her career working as an interior designer for a prestigious furniture store in downtown Boise, Amy worked under a senior designer who taught her space planning and budgeting. Her natural ability in understanding good design and making it come together led to more experience and clientele. Recognizing a need for helping people locate high end furnishings, Amy began working in a local luxury furniture store specializing in beautiful handmade rugs and fine art. The owner also raised the bar in designing and building exotic fine wood furniture. Foster worked nine years with the family learning the business and developing relationships with the vendors. These major tools gave her the courage to start her own company, and Echelon was born in 2010. What is most loved about her work is its versatility. Every home design becomes a sanctuary for the person living in it. Amy loves flowing a design theme throughout a home and makes sure the pieces not only look good, but feel good, too. Comfort is a key element for making the Parade Homes stand out as livable and luxurious. CityLifestyle.com/Boise

GREG AND KARI STRIMPLE HAVE SPENT THEIR LIVES TRAVELING, AND IT’S EASY TO SAY ALL OF THEIR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS ARE SPREAD ACROSS THE GLOBE. That was the inspiration for their new restaurant, The Lively. “They wanted to have their favorite restaurant in this lively environment in Boise, where they wanted to hangout,” says restaurant manager, Amber Ault. The new building located at 505 W. Bannock will provide a home to The Lively restaurant, Bar Gibbon, and office space for the Strimple’s. From the hand-painted silk wallpaper from London to a “Press for Champagne” button, the attention to detail is a feast for the eyes as you roam through the three-story building. Edward Higgins, a pedigreed Michelin-starred chef, is the heart of the restaurant, according to Ault. “I’ve cooked in Boston, San Francisco, Tokyo, Portland, Hawaii and now, logically, Boise, Idaho,” Higgins said with a grin. The menu at the Lively leaves guests celebrating the bounty of our local farmers, ranchers, and artisans. Each dish is a modern mixture of carefully sourced local and gourmet ingredients. The current menu features entrees such as the Snake River American Wagyu culotte, and the Idaho Ruby Trout “Rockefeller” with a vermouth butter crust. For those with a sweet tooth, there are currently three mouth-watering dessert options, including the Basque cheesecake with toasted almond cream and fresh berries. The menu is seasonal and fueled from local sources and ingredients. At the end of the meal, guests will be planning their next visit in order to experience another amazing creation from Chef Higgins, served with gracious hospitality in a lively environment. WHERE I DISCOVERED WHO I WAS AND WHO I WAS MEANT TO BE
THE WAY MY WIFE ROLLS HER EYES WHEN I TALK ABOUT IT IS TESTAMENT TO HOW MUCH I LOVE THE MOUNTAIN, AND TO HOW MUCH TIME I SPEND THERE. I once saw a car parked at a secluded trailhead that had a sticker with an image of a mountain and the text “Take Me to Church.” Amen, brother (or sister - it was a Subaru, so it could go either way). I’m not the kind of person to put stickers on my truck, but I want that sticker. I’m also not one to evangelize, but I’ll take any opportunity I can to preach the good word of the mountain, because it was there that I discovered who I was and who I was meant to be. EAGLE ART WALK A TREASURE MAP OF ART, MUSIC & LOCAL CULTURE
THE EAGLE ART WALK BRINGS HUNDREDS OF ART LOVERS TO DOWNTOWN EAGLE TO EXPERIENCE THIS VIBRANT CULTURAL EVENT ON WARM SUMMER NIGHTS. Visitors experience a combination of visual artistry and performing street musicians along State Street’s shops and restaurants. This special arts event takes place the last Thursday of the month through September from 5:00-9:00pm. Mark your calendars for July 29, August 26, and September 30. Artists and musicians fill the streets of downtown Eagle with live music and colorful displays of handmade arts and fine crafts - socially distanced, of course. This is an opportunity to own a unique and original work of art, visit with the artists, meet up with friends, and see and be seen. During this year’s Eagle Art Walk ten (10) hand-blown glass treasures have been hidden along State Street for you to find. They could be inside a business, or outside on the street. They are not hidden too hard because they want you to find them! Be kind and save some for others. Keep one ornament per person, per season, please. When you find your treasure, post a picture on their Instagram page at #eagleartwalk. The event is free to the public and is sponsored by Finer Frames, the Eagle Arts Commission and the City of Eagle. EagleArtWalk.com

THE BUILDING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION OF SOUTHWESTERN IDAHO (BCASWI) RECENTLY WRAPPED UP IT’S 2021 SPRING BOISE PARADE OF HOMES™. Parade of Homes™ is a showcase of home designs in new construction by some of the associations’ builders. Providing annual spring and fall tours of homes has been a tradition since 1956! It was wonderful to allow open houses at each of the locations in the traditional open house manner with safety protocols in place at each home, as well as the ability to continue access via 3D virtual tours. The event was successful for the participating builders and those who support them, albeit differently than in past parades. Instead of limiting the event to 40 homes, only a bit more than half that number was available, and very few were offered

CO-FOUNDER & CO-OWNER/OPERATOR OF ROCKET EXPRESS CAR WASH WHAT ARE THE MOST CRITICAL SKILLS YOU BRING TO YOUR WORK? I’m collaborative in my approach to solving most business challenges and complicated problems. We’re not in business to be in business – we’re in business to make profits – so I collaborate with my key employees to gather facts, opinions, ideas, and to perform basic cost/benefit analysis on endless decisions. Collaboration refines ideas in ways I couldn’t do alone, and in return, employees feel empowered knowing they made a direct contribution to growing and improving the company. HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS, BOTH PERSONALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY? When I inspire young people to recognize how much they can accomplish if they persevere and seek excellence in all they do. I give praise and encouragement of their skills, talents, and contributions. Personal success is “remembering the important things.” Work will always be there, so when I act on what is really important to me or to my family, I’m satisfied that I did the right thing. OUTSIDE OF WORK, WHAT SKILLS AND TALENTS DO YOU HAVE THAT MIGHT SURPRISE PEOPLE? My hiking excursions now include bird watching and identification. I also play the ukulele, love ballroom dancing with music from the big band era, and amateur photography.

WHAT ARE SOME CAUSES YOU CARE ABOUT? I support a variety of non-profits through a monthly donation to my church, which provides funds to organizations addressing hunger, domestic violence, housing for needy, clothes for young women, and many individual family needs, as well.
