arly fall is one my favorite times of year in the Northwest.

The changing of the colors, the shorter days, crispy weather, scarves and boots, pumpkin everything, and yummy Crock-Pot soups—I feel cozy just thinking about it.

owntown Bellevue Park, the modern and peaceful neighborhood landmark should be difficult to surpass in beauty, and it was ... until Sea Gals Bianca, Kristin, Olivia, Michelle and Hannah arrived. Nearing the golden hour
on a calm and warm Bellevue weeknight, I was greeted by five sparkling gals, the Sea Gals. All living or working in the Eastside area, these ladies are no strangers to Bellevue. Balancing full-time jobs and social lives with serving as Seattle’s finest cheerleaders, these five Sea Gals all showcase what being a woman of many talents looks like. Attending events, serving the community, and leading the Seahawks fans, these five women are rays of light within Bellevue. With football officially here, the Gals are busier than ever as the 2018 season is underway. “I look forward to dancing and performing for our fans on CenturyLink Field!" Hannah Tripp, returning for her second year as a Sea Gal says of this upcoming season. "Dance has always been a passion of mine, so I feel incredibly lucky to be able to live out my dreams by performing in front of thousands of people as an NFL cheerleader again!” You may seem them dining in your favorite spots, working in your building, or shining on the sidelines as they help you cheer on your favorite NFL team. These five Sea Gals are local women bringing more than just cheer to your neighborhood.

When I'm not on the field I love staying active and spending as much time with the people I love as possible! One of my favorite things to do is take dance classes at local studios so I can explore different styles of dance. I also love to get out and explore the city in any way I can. WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO MOST ON GAME DAY?
What I look forward to most on game day is performing for the 12s and vibing off of their energy! There is really no feeling like being out on the field. I still get chills every time I step out of our locker room!

You will often find me grabbing lunch at the Bellevue Cactus. Mexican food is my absolute favorite! The best item on the menu is their grilled skirt steak salad. The vegetables are super fresh and the steak is cooked to perfection just the way I like it. Their salsa is also one of the best I've had. Definitely a must-go if you like Mexican! HOW HAS BEING A SEA GAL CHANGED YOU?
I used to be very shy before I was on Sea Gals. Now it is my absolute favorite thing when I get to meet 12s. I love talking and interacting and hearing people's stories. Before, I would be afraid to speak with strangers and now I'm happy to talk to anyone. This experience has really brought me out of being shy. I think it is because Seahawk fans and Seattle fans, in general, create such a close-knit community. A simple "Go Hawks" from a stranger can spark up an entire conversation and create friendships that normally wouldn't have happened.

EASTSIDE BOILERMAKER When hosting a football party, there’s no need to get too fancy when it comes to drinks. The Boilermaker is a classic drink that’s less cocktail and more of a combo. No mixing required. The Boilermaker simply consists of a beer and a shot of whiskey. There is room for creativity, of course, and one should take advantage of that. Cute glassware is a must, and for this guide, we’ve gone local. For the beer, we’ve chosen the Bohemian Pilsner from Bellevue Brewing Company. The 425 Pale Ale or their IPA work well here as well. Their beers are sold at various retailers or can be purchased at their Bellevue Taproom. For the whiskey, we chose Woodinville Whiskey’s 100% Rye. This small-batch rye is aged to maturity in 8-gallon handmade American oak barrels. Your Eastside Boilermaker can be enjoyed one of two ways: sip the two beverages side by side or plop the whiskey into the beer and enjoy. Cheers!

HAIL ROSEMARY NUTS Ingredients 1 pound unsalted mixed nuts 1 tablespoon melted butter 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup 2 tablespoons and 1 teaspoon fresh chopped rosemary, divided 1 tablespoon brown sugar ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper 2 teaspoons flaky sea salt, plus more to taste
Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, toss mixed nuts with melted butter and maple syrup. Add 2 tablespoons chopped rosemary, dark brown sugar, cayenne pepper and 2 teaspoons flaky sea salt, mixing until the nuts are well coated with the flavorings. Spread nuts out onto a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake until glazed and golden, about 18-20 minutes, stirring twice during the cooking process. 2. As soon as the nuts come out of the oven, season with an additional 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary, and flaky sea salt to taste (I added an additional 3/4 teaspoon). Serve warm immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. CONTINUED >

his is definitely the easiest and best way to make rich-tasting butternut squash soup, without having to peel and dice a large,
awkwardly shaped vegetable. You start by cutting the squash in half lengthwise and roasting it in a hot oven. Scrape the roasted flesh from the skin, and simmer it with sautéed yellow onion, fresh sage, and a tart Granny Smith apple. When everything’s soft and the flavors have melded, purée it all in the blender. Finally, enrich the soup with a bit of heavy cream.

1. Heat the oven to 425°F and arrange a rack in the middle. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the squash pieces cut-side up on the baking sheet. Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter and brush all of it over the tops and insides of the squash halves (alternatively, you can rub it on evenly with your fingers). Season generously with salt and pepper. Roast until knife tender, 50 minutes to 1 hour. 2. Meanwhile, peel, core, and cut the apple into medium dice. Cut the onion into medium dice. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the apple, onion, and sage, season with salt and pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened,
