Our smiles are found on the faces of some of the most high-profile people in the world — movie stars, music celebrities, professional athletes, and models... ...but you don’t have to be famous to enjoy the benefits that a beautiful, natural-looking smile can bring!
Come see why people from all walks of life choose us to enhance their smile “My experience with Dr. Wells and his staff was nothing except exceptionally perfect! With the intensive reconstruction that took place in my mouth, I was required to come periodically for visits to their office, and every visit was pleasant, warm, and welcoming. My teeth underwent an abundance of change that took patience, time, and diligence. Through every step of the process, Dr. Wells and his staff exceeded my expectations of what I thought the prep-less veneers process would be like. I am eternally grateful for the new quality of my smile, and I couldn’t be happier.”

big brother, the e-tron RS, and that’ll give you 637 Hp and deliver you to 60 mph in 3.1. Some tests have achieved sub 3 second times. The e-trons chief rivals over at Tesla are even quicker in a straight line but there are two key things Tesla lacks: experience on a racetrack and a legacy of exquisite build quality. I noticed both of these things within the first few miles behind the wheel. The e-tron handles like a race car, not harsh and rigid, but balanced and precise. It inspires a huge amount of confidence right away. Second is the build quality, and trust me, the interior alone is worth the premium. Some are drawn to the spartan interiors of the Tesla brand but I don’t know anyone who likes their giant panel gaps and poor build quality standards. Audi has built luxury cars for a very long time and that is immediately apparent; the e-tron is a beautiful place to be. As we arrived back at Audi Nashville, with our test complete, we took another walk around the car to admire its looks. Steve says, “I might have to get one of these.” If that’s how an R8 owner feels about the slower of the two e-trons, I can’t wait to try out the RS e-tron GT model. CONTINUED >

A PASSION TO HELP
GETTING INVOLVED AND GIVING BACK BRINGS GREAT REWARDS Jamie Shea
VOLUNTEERING HAS ALWAYS PLAYED A BIG ROLE IN JAMIE SHEA’S LIFE. As a young man, when all his friends wanted to do was hang out and have fun, he was off searching for places where he could help others. Today, Jamie uses this passion to inspire his colleagues. A Realtor and broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Woodmont Realty in Nashville, he’s the current co-chair of his office’s charity committee. “We try to focus on local charities every year, and this year, we’ve chosen Second Harvest Food Bank, Operation Stand Down Tennessee, Safe Haven and Nashville Humane Association,” he says. “We try to keep it as local as we can and really try to make an impact.” Every one of these charities will get a monetary donation, but Jamie also believes in committing time as well. “When you go out and see the people you’re helping and who you’re giving to, it makes you feel a lot better about what you’re doing.” COVID has changed a lot of the in-person volunteer opportunities, but when he became chair, that’s what he wanted to focus on. “Obviously, we have agents who donate

In 2019, Jamie also chaired the Habitat for Humanity commit-
tee with Greater Nashville Realtors. Its focus was on funding and building homes with Habitat for Humanity. “We held fundraisers
like a golf tournament and mum sale,” he says. “In 2019, to raise
money for 2020, I created a campaign called $20 for 2020. My aim was to get every agent to give at least $20. At the end of
Operation Stand Down
2018, we had 5000 members, so if many gave $20, we would hit our goal, which was $100,000. Obviously we also wanted more big donors, but this was something where everyone could give.” Jamie is also active with charitable work outside the office. Along with his running group, he planned to run a half marathon for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and to raise more money, the group challenged him to run the race in a kilt. “It worked,” he says. “I did some research and found that they actually have running kilts!” Along the way, Jamie says he heard a lot of interesting comments from the spectators about the kilt. Jamie encourages everyone to find a cause and then volunteer to lend a hand. A great good place to start is: VolunteerMatch.org.

LEMONADE OUT OF
HOW ONE YOUNG WIDOW TURNED HER GRIEF INTO JOY
LEMONS
LOSING SOMEONE WE LOVE IS PERHAPS THE HARDEST CHALLENGE WE WILL EVER FACE IN LIFE. If we’re lucky, we can comfort ourselves with the fact that the person lived a good long life. But what if that person was taken from us way too soon? How do we come to terms with the additional heartbreak that goes along with that grief? The answer for Mattie Jackson Selecman was to help others through their pain. A widow at 28, she
never imagined losing the love of her life so young, and so soon after their marriage. “Ben was a very easy man to fall in love with,” says Mattie. “Just talking about him brings a smile to
my face. He was one of those people who was just joyful and had a huge personality.” ARTICLE SUE BALDANI | PHOTOGRAPHY DETAILS NASHVILLE STYLED BY: THE SHOWROOM NASHVILLE

advice “I’m so grateful to see that Ben’s death, and all that I have been through, helps others get through their own hardships. Helping others is the greatest way you can heal and bring joy back.”
Ben Selecman, an assistant district attorney for Davidson county, was only 28 years old the day he fell and hit his head in 2018. That head injury proved fatal, and took place only 11 months into their marriage. “He always said he wanted to live life to the fullest, and the abundant life that God says we can live, and he really did in his own way in his 28 years,” she says. To cope with her grief, Mattie turned to her other love, writing. “My college degree is in writing and my dad is a songwriter and my mom wrote a book. So, it was natural for me to try to process my grief that way and everything I was having to face so unexpectedly.” Her father, Alan Jackson, is not just a songwriter, but one of the most successful country artists of all time. Denise Jackson, is the author of It’s all About Him: Finding the Love of My Life and The Road Home. Mattie’s written outpourings of grief and hope have now been turned into a book: Lemons on Friday: Trusting God Through My Greatest Heartbreak, will be available on Nov. 16 via Harper Collins. The title and subtitle of the book reflect her strong faith, and is what she attributes, along with her family and friends, to getting her through the worst of her grief. “Lemons on Friday was from a metaphor that came into my head,” she says. “I remembered the saying to make lemonade out of lemons, and I remember feeling like what more bitter, sour, awful and unwanted thing could have happened to me and being helpless to make something good out of it. The Friday part is the acknowledgement that if we’re true believers we don’t really live on resurrection Sunday, but instead are living on crucifixion Friday, feeling helpless and wondering how long we’re going to have to hurt until our Sunday comes.” Some readers who preorder the book will gain access to Racing in the Dark, a song Mattie co-wrote with her father. Sharing her story and her talents is allowing her to heal her own pain, and hopefully those of others. “If I’m able in some small way through this book and my story being published to make someone who doesn’t have faith or who doesn’t have that support system feel like they’re not alone in their pain, then that’s my greatest hope.” CityLifestyle.com/BelleMeade

SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE IS GEARING UP TO MAKE SURE EVERY FAMILY CAN CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING WITH ABUNDANCE. “People may not even realize that due to the pandemic, 1 in 8 people – including 1 in 7 children – are projected to be food insecure,” says Nancy Keil, president and CEO of Second Harvest. “Thanksgiving is such a special time of year for so many families, but it can be a difficult time for a parent who can’t afford a holiday meal for their family,” she says. “Second Harvest and our network of partner agencies are working to support these families.” Without help, Second Harvest is not able to fulfill its amazing mission. To provide struggling families with a meal this holiday -- and all year-round -- there are a number of ways to do so. “Monetary donations are the most efficient way to support Second Harvest,” says Nancy. “We can really stretch a dollar, and every dollar donated can provide four meals.” Also, all Kroger supermarkets in Middle Tennessee accept food donations on the CONTINUED >

group's behalf. Donation barrels are located near the entrances and exits. Shoppers can drop off jars of peanut butter or cans of vegetables and proteins while doing their grocery shopping. Volunteers aged 12 and older also are needed to handle donations received. “We have volunteer opportunities at all three Second Harvest facilities located in Nashville, Smyrna and Camden,” Nancy says. “Our volunteers are incredibly dedicated, and we encourage everyone to lend a hand. You'll have a direct impact on the lives of your neighbors, and it's a truly fulfilling experience.” Second Harvest supports local communities throughout the 46 counties in Middle and West Tennessee. “We work directly with 450 nonprofit partner agencies across our service area to provide access to food for folks in need,” says Nancy. “Please remember these families as you sit down to enjoy your gathering this Thanksgiving. Consider adding a food drive to your holiday get together or collecting donations for Second Harvest. Give thanks for your meal by helping to provide a meal for someone else.” Information about food donations, food drives and volunteering can be seen at SecondHarvestMidTN.org.
