Stylish retreats for inspiring timeouts

Since 2001 we have been searching for the new, the aesthetic, the inspiring. Looking for places, experiences and people that broaden our horizons, appeal to our senses and inspire our thoughts. When we find what we are looking for, we come to rest. Then we have discovered one of the hotels that we would like to introduce to you as a Lifestylehotel.

Lifestylehotels™ takes you to places where you are allowed to unfold. Not only discover new places, but also discover yourself. The world we would like to take you to, is a world of allowing and mindfulness. Mindfulness is more than a buzzword in many of our member hotels. Farmtotable concepts, the support of local artists, a particularly resourceconserving operation and handling of the hotel, or the meditative experience of nature are just a few examples of the innovations of our member hotels. The demand for aesthetics and quality is and remains central to our vision of a modern hotel industry, but more mindful and sustainable in the sense of the new spirituality.

Behind all this are ideas and above all people our hoteliers who create something unique with their honest efforts. We want to understand their vision in order to continue telling their stories. At some point, we start searching again, put out our feelers and activate our sensors, because new things are always being created and existing things are changing.

Mia Alpina Zillertal Family Retreat: A Vibrant Home for Families

Where adventure, relaxation and heartfelt hospitality meet – the Mia Alpina Zillertal Family Retreat combines Tyrolean charm with a modern family spirit.

Nestled in the heart of the Zillertal Valley, the Mia Alpina Zillertal Family Retreat is a place that evolves continuously – just like the families who stay there. It’s a living retreat where children, parents and grandparents alike find space to grow, play and unwind.

Just as children rediscover their world through play, Mia Alpina Zillertal Family Retreat keeps reinventing itself. Between adventure and serenity, motion and comfort, it creates a dynamic balance that defines contemporary family holidays.

From bowling lanes and a Ninja-Warrior course to a petting zoo and the Zirben SPA, the retreat offers something for every age. The Kobliha children themselves are part of the innovation process – testing new features and helping shape a place that stays in tune with today’s family needs.

Alongside beloved staples like dedicated childcare and spacious play areas, new additions such as the “Area 500” – featuring a bouldering wall and action course – and Woody’s Activitypool bring extra excitement.

While adults can find tranquility in the Zirben SPA, stylish family suites blend Alpine coziness with modern elegance. A fitness area, in-house concept store with curated products, and bike and ski rentals round off the experience.

The Mia Alpina Zillertal Family Retreat continues to grow with its guests – yet always remains true to its heart: genuine hospitality that feels like home.

“Standing still doesn’t suit a lively house like ours – we want to surprise, inspire, and always stay one step ahead.”
Carolin Kobliha, Host

“We don’t want to be bigger, faster, higher – we want to stay as we are and take gentle steps forward.” – Michael Madreiter, Founder –

Gentle Steps –Puradies Leogang

A PLACE WHERE TIME SEEMS TO STAND STILL AND CHANGE HAPPENS IN HARMONY WITH NATURE.

Nestled between alpine meadows and mountain peaks, Puradies Leogang is a nature resort that truly lives up to its name. Where once a traditional mountain farm stood, today stands a haven that blends groundedness with vision.

For over 280 years, this place has been home to a family farm, and for 180 years, it has been owned by the Madreiter family. What began as the Embachhof has evolved into a sanctuary for those seeking tranquility – guided by the same mindfulness that once shaped rural life.

In 2007, the first chalets were built – pioneers of their kind in Austria. Over time, the concept grew naturally into a holistic resort with 76 rooms and suites, 14 private chalets, and the Heaven Spa, opened in 2023.

This belief permeates everything – from the architectural design, which unites nature and craftsmanship, to the way guests are welcomed. Here, change occurs only when it feels right. The result is a place where you can truly breathe – and where “gentleness” becomes a way of being.

Refugium Lunz

Quiet hospitality between lake, river and forest

The Refugium is located directly on the church square in Lunz am See, the Ybbs and the Gothic parish church from the 15th century to the side. The history of the house with its 23 rooms also goes back 5 centuries.

The owners, Joachim Mayr and Heinz Glatzl, felt obligated to this history when remodeling. They did not want to create just another design hotel, but rather a tender coexistence between old and new, a place of contemplation and refuge, precisely the Refugium.

The vision of a place where the desire for new things and the appreciation of the past find common expression has taken shape with the Refugium. Heart and soul, dedication and the clear aesthetic concept are reflected in the design of the rooms. It is a skillful play with textures, structures, shapes and colors. The commitment to authentic craftsmanship and attention to detail can be seen and felt throughout the hotel.

Numerous partners, from the Formdepot cooperative founded by Joachim and Heinz, were involved in the remodeling and furnishing of the hotel. Formdepot is an association of craftsmen, architects and designers based in Vienna Ottakring.

LUNZ AM SEE | AUSTRIA
“Refugium Lunz reframes retreat: not an escape from life, but a more deliberate way to feel it.”

REFUGIUM LUNZ:

Timeless

The old house on the church square has stood for centuries. Its oldest parts date back to 1661—a date engraved into the intricately carved beams of the parlour. Today, this historic building is home to Refugium Lunz, a guesthouse revived by the creative minds behind FORMDEPOT—partners known for breathing new life into old architecture. The house looks back with respect and forward with care. Here, longevity finds its expression in harmonious design: in ancient stone, timeless lines, historic wood—and wood that is allowed to become historic.

THE OLD PARLOUR

At over 300 years old, the parlour is the heart of the house—its grande dame. A stay at Refugium Lunz is not complete without seeing this room, with its finely crafted beamed ceiling and the light that dances across its historic textures. The space was revealed layer by layer. Missing pieces of woodwork were lovingly recreated—in Joachim Mayr’s kitchen oven. The parlour whispers the house’s philosophy in a voice that is quiet, warm, and deliberate.

STONE THAT ENDURES

While the flooring is new—out of necessity—the story it rests on is still tangible. The reception, salon kitchen, and outdoor area are all finished with Kanfanar, a Croatian limestone known for its soft, honest look. In the wellness area, Breccia Romana dominates—a classic limestone from central Italy with a warm, clouded grain.

WOOD THAT LASTS

Where there is no stone or tile, there is wood—covering floors and cladding walls. The planks and paneling bring warmth and depth to the Refugium. The wood flooring comes from Schotten & Hansen, a German manufacturer from Upper Bavaria known for treating this durable material with deep respect, preserving its natural structure to ensure it ages gracefully over time.

MEASURED DESIGN, REFINED STYLE

The furnishings? A balanced blend of custom pieces and lovingly curated design objects, chosen with an eye for quality and materials that will still be around tomorrow. Many of the bespoke furnishings were crafted by Tischlerei Mayr, a local carpenter just around the corner from the Refugium—both in location and in spirit. Nestled between washbasins, benches, and storage areas are carefully chosen favorites like the Barrel Lounge Chair by Sophisticated Living, the Ozz lamp-table hybrid by Miniforms, and outdoor loungers by Varaschin.

TEXTILES FOR A LIFETIME

The tactile richness of Refugium Lunz also reveals itself in its textiles—unobtrusive, yet full of structure and personality. The concept was developed by FiLAFiL! textile designer Teresa Urbano and features fabrics from the Danish textile house Kvadrat, alongside naturally tanned leathers from Sørensen, another Danish atelier. These are textiles built to last a lifetime—and quite possibly beyond.

Hotel eder

THE hotspot, right in the middle of the Hochkönig Region

Hotel eder in the centre of the picturesque village of Maria Alm offers the perfect conditions for anyone who loves the high alpine life: the sporting adventure starts right behind the hotel in the ski and hiking region Hochkönig.

The design hotel eder has been carefully extended and modernised by local skilled crafts and trades and is exciting, unique and refreshing. Its creatively designed spa with 25 m pool, steam bath, bio sauna, massages and more leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel eder is located directly in the village centre, surrounded by the stunning natural scenery of the Hochkönig.

ElisabethHotel

Premium Private Retreat

A heaven of relaxation for adults only

The family-run ElisabethHotel is situated in the very heart of Mayrhofen in Tyrol. Just minutes away from the peaceful oasis at the foot of the Zillertal Alpine crest, this design hotel serves as the perfect base for active outdoor pursuits. Whether heading out with local hiking guide Otto or savouring moments of undisturbed togetherness, guests will find balance here. After an adventurous day, it is especially rewarding to unwind in the Elisense Spa or roam the 15,000 m² romantic garden — a true retreat featuring a 1,000 m² natural swimming lake and numerous idyllic nooks for blissful, romantic moments.

The house impresses with its use of natural materials and radiates a decelerating ambience where Alpine tradition meets contemporary elegance. The historic main building with its gables, balconies, and carved details blends harmoniously with the sweeping lines of the modern new wing, reflecting the hotel’s guiding philosophy of “Premium Private Retreat” — a promise of refined hospitality

and deep relaxation. Importantly, the ElisabethHotel is the first in the Zillertal to operate exclusively as an adults-only sanctuary, creating open, serene spaces where calm and privacy take centre stage.

An inviting palette of natural materials — wood, stone, and sheep’s wool — ties the 70 bedrooms together with warm, colour-coordinated design, fostering a restful atmosphere perfect for unwinding. In the 1,800 m² Elisense Spa, guests discover a basalt indoor pool, whirlpool, outdoor pool, saunas, and indoor and outdoor quiet zones that nurture mindful relaxation.

Culinary experiences at the ElisabethHotel are equally considered and memorable. At Restaurant FEIN, guests enjoy fine Alpine cuisine elevated to its highest expression, where regional ingredients and craftsmanship come together in exquisite, seasonal creations. Set in an intimate, cosy space with dark stone-pine wood, traditional hunting-lodge warmth, and atmospheric art, FEIN showcases the best of Zillertal’s culinary heritage alongside refined contemporary techniques. Here local flavours — from delicate wild herb starters to hearty regional classics reimagined with finesse — are accompanied by carefully selected wines, making every meal a highlight of the stay.

Sleep Well at Elisabeth Hotel

SLEEP THAT NOURISHES BODY AND SOUL

We don’t need to sleep for a hundred years like Sleeping Beauty to live a long life. But waking up refreshed every morning is a fairytale in itself – and a key to a long and fulfilling existence. At the ElisabethHotel Private Retreat in Mayrhofen, sleep becomes a precious source of regeneration and inner peace.

LIVING WITH DEPTH AND COMFORT

Behind the fairytale-like façade of the ElisabethHotel lies an elegant ambience filled with grounding elements. Rooms feature highquality local beds with down duvets and pillows. Sheep wool carpets and either Swiss pine or oak wood ensure a healthy indoor climate, depending on whether you choose a traditional or modern room. Blackout shutters guarantee total darkness – making sleep masks redundant.

ELISENSE SPA: MINDFULNESS FOR ALL THE SENSES

In the Elisense Spa, relaxation becomes a holistic experience. Deep warmth awaits in one of the saunas. Gently moving water carries you in the outdoor relaxation pool. Stillness touches you on the waterbeds in the Serenity Room. And the sounds of singing bowls are not just heard but deeply felt – as their vibrations calm the mind.

TRANQUILLITY THAT NEEDS SPACE

The ElisabethHotel is an adults-only retreat. Not because children don’t belong in life – but because there are places where silence, retreat, and mindfulness deserve to take centre stage. Here, tranquillity can unfold in its purest form.

A ZILLERTAL SECRET FOR SWEET DREAMS

For those who still find sleep elusive, there is a special local remedy: the hotel’s homemade masterwort schnaps. This medicinal plant grows near streams and springs in the valley and has long been used as a traditional way to lovingly end the day – and drift into deep, restorative sleep.

SALZBURG CITY | AUSTRIA

“With just 16 individually designed rooms, this boutique hideaway feels more like an artful private residence than a hotel, offering guests a frontrow seat to Salzburg’s cultural splendor.”

Hotel Stein

Salzburg meets Venice

Italian influence in Salzburg began in the 16th century, when Venetian architect Vincenzo Scamozzi was comissioned with the planning of a new city layout. In cooperation with his successor Santino Solari, he created the look for which the city of Mozart today is world-famous. The connection of Salzburg and Venice is emphasized with an innovative concept.

Located in one of Salzburg’s top locations, the hotel is dominated by the colour blue: blue as the lagoon and the heaven. Thanks to this colour scheme an unique atmosphere and style have been created that convey an incomparable lifestyle experience.

In 56 exclusive rooms, that show exceptional attention to detail, new standards have been set. These can also be found at the hotel’s rooftop location on the 7th floor - with an outstanding view of the city.

Located on the hotel‘s 2nd floor, the Honeymoon Suite offers a breathtaking view of the Fortress Hohensalzburg as well as the Salzach. The suite itself is absolutely made to fall in love with, but its eye-catcher definitely is the historically protected stucco ceiling, which is one-of-a-kind with its beauty and opulence.

Above it all, the STEINTERRASSE — the hotel’s rooftop bar on the 7th floor — crowns the experience, offering sweeping views across Salzburg’s historic skyline, where aperitivo culture meets Alpine grandeur. A place where Venetian ease and Salzburg’s baroque drama come together.

SALZBURG CITY | AUSTRIA

“Few places capture Salzburg’s cinematic beauty quite like Hotel Stein’s rooftop terrace— where morning coffee comes with alpine views and evening cocktails arrive bathed in golden twilight.”

“With

a design ethos that blends Venetian craftsmanship and Austrian precision, Hotel Stein feels like a love letter to Salzburg’s artistic soul—bold, elegant, and utterly refined.”

“At Hotel Stein, the light dances differently — filtered through exquisite Venetian glass chandeliers, handcrafted Murano lamps, and shimmering details that transform this icon into a living work of art.”

Bergwiesenglück

Privat happiness close to the stars

Moments of happiness at 1,250 m above sea level are promised by the boutique hotel in the middle of the Tyrolean Alps. How could it be any different. It is a place where the view wanders over the lush green mountain meadows to the rugged peaks of the Silvretta Group and the fresh air clears the mind.

On the roof top you find a 12-meter heated infinity pool and a small fitness cube, with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain landscape.

The architecture is reminiscent of the Tyrolean “Heustadl” which is typical of alpine farming. The clarity of the architecture is continued in the interior - you won’t find any overloaded alpine chic here. The use of traditional materials is interpreted in a modern way and creates an authentic, contemporary ambience, designed with a lot of respect in dealing with nature and the environment. Especially local materials from Tyrol, such as loden and Tyrolean wood were incorporated into the planning. SEE | AUSTRIA

The wellness experience is rounded off with exclusive massages and tailored treatments designed to enhance your well-being.

“Inside Sportresidenz Zillertal, architecture steps back — allowing light, landscape and material to lead.”
“Move with intention, relax with indulgence — that’s the rhythm of life at Sportresidenz Zillertal.”

Set between valley floor and mountain silhouette, THE GREEN redefines the contemporary alpine resort in the Zillertal. Located beside the Uderns golf course, the project brings together restrained architecture, material honesty and a measured approach to luxury—defined by landscape rather than spectacle.

The architectural language is calm and precise. Timber, stone and glass form a reduced material palette, allowing the surrounding terrain to remain the primary protagonist, while activity and stillness coexist in balance. Conceived as a threshold between movement and pause, the resort opens naturally to the seasons, connecting summer golf, hiking and cycling with winter skiing in Hochzillertal and Spieljoch.

Across 75 rooms and suites, the interiors follow a quiet logic of reduction. Clean lines, warm tonalities and tactile materials establish a sense of withdrawal, while large-format windows dissolve the boundary between inside and out. The Water Suites, positioned directly at the lake’s edge, offer the most distilled expression of this idea, where architecture, water and reflection merge.

Spanning 3,300 m², the Flora & Fauna wellness area unfolds as a composed sequence of indoor and outdoor spaces centred around the chlorine-free natural swimming lake, THE GREEN Lagoon. In- and outdoor pools, a variety of saunas and zones for heat, steam, cold immersion and stillness are seamlessly interwoven with areas designed for both families and adults seeking quiet retreat. Elevated above it all, the Sky Garden opens onto tranquil rooftop relaxation zones and the Sky Garden Pool, while a

state-of-the-art panoramic fitness area and an open-air yoga space extend the experience into movement and breath. Massages and cosmetic treatments further refine the sense of balance, allowing the spa to transition fluidly between activity and deep restoration.

The culinary approach is regional and seasonal, edited with restraint and shaped by a clear sense of provenance. Ingredients sourced from local producers and the resort’s own hunting grounds are interpreted in a contemporary manner, creating a rhythm of dining that unfolds naturally throughout the day — from a thoughtfully curated breakfast buffet to a light afternoon snack and an evening buffet with warm cuisine served until 8 p.m. Anchored by precision and ease, the experience is complemented by the Evergreen hotel bar, extending the culinary narrative into a relaxed, convivial close.

Designed for different rhythms of travel, THE GREEN accommodates families, couples, solo guests and active travellers alike, balancing shared experiences with deliberate retreat. Sustainability forms the project’s structural foundation, expressed through timber construction, renewable energy systems, regional materials and a deeply considered relationship with place.

THE GREEN signals a quieter, more precise direction for alpine hospitality—contemporary in design and rooted in the landscape of the Zillertal.

Hotel August

A former Augustinian monastery as an urban retreat

A former Augustinian monastery is transformed into an urban retreat that embraces the sacred soul of the site while captivating with modernist touches in every little detail. The hotel is located in Het Groen Kwartier (the Green Quarter) a traffic-free area on the site of a large 19th-century former military hospital that once belonged to the Belgian Army.

The neighborhood is very lively with many new stores, restaurants and small cafes. It is close to the Zurenborg neighborhood with its impressive Art Nouveau and fin-de-siècle mansions.

For the reconstruction of the property, consisting of 5 buildings, the well-known Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen could be won. He is one of the leading figures in the Antwerp design scene.

The former monastery houses 44 rooms and suites, no two rooms are alike, each has its own unique charm. If you want to stay extra comfortable we recommend the August Suite. With a personal living room, a large sleeping area and a private bathroom with walkin shower and large bathtub, it offers every imaginable comfort. Everelmus Boutique B&B

A Piece of Bruges History Reinterpreted

Everelmus is Bruges at its most intimate. Set within an early 18th-century townhouse overlooking the Dijver, this boutique B&B feels more like a refined private home than a place to stay. Carefully restored, it preserves the patina of history while introducing contemporary comfort with a light, assured touch—where UNESCO-listed heritage meets quiet luxury.

Behind the classic brick façade, original larch parquet floors and historic block-printed wallpaper sit alongside restrained modern design. A light-filled salon opens onto canal views, while a rare walled garden offers a secluded refuge in the heart of the old town, ideal for breakfast in the morning sun or a glass of wine at dusk.

With just four individually designed rooms, named after pigments of the Flemish Primitives, Everelmus remains deliberately personal. Fine linens by Valérie Barkowski, custom-made beds and elegant bathrooms complete interiors that feel calm, cultured and considered.

Mornings begin with a carefully prepared breakfast of regional produce, served in the garden or the salon. Attentive hosts share local insight, while the central yet quiet setting invites exploration on foot. Everelmus is a place where historic authenticity and modern ease come together—warm, discreet and quietly memorable.

BRUGES
“Everelmus reflects a distinctly Belgian sensibility: respect for tradition, paired with a disciplined, modern eye.”
“The house has a new heart and a new pair of lungs – a gentle rejuvenation you can feel while staying here,” says Marjan and Fernand.

STORY

EVERELMUS –A Gift from the Past

WHERE HISTORY, ART AND HOSPITALITY COME BACK TO LIFE IN BRUGES.

It began with a walk through Bruges – and turned into a love story with the past. In early 2021, during the quiet days of the pandemic, Marjan and Fernand stumbled upon a dilapidated house by the Dijver canal. The building was in disrepair, yet its spirit was palpable. Just steps from the Gruuthuse Museum, it seemed to whisper stories of centuries gone by.

A HOUSE THAT TELLS A STORY

The building that now houses the Boutique Hotel EVERELMUS dates back to the 18th century, with origins reaching into the medieval period. During the restoration, the couple uncovered historical traces – 18th-century wallpaper, aged floors and ceilings, and even archaeological finds like a child’s sandal. Every detail became a thread connecting past and present.

BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT

From the beginning, the vision was clear: to breathe new life into the house without erasing its history. The result is a boutique retreat that unites art, culture and authenticity. With only four rooms – each inspired by Flemish masters such as Van Eyck and Memling – EVERELMUS reflects timeless elegance and quiet beauty. Each space bears the name of a pigment once used by painters, infusing colour and depth into the atmosphere.

A HOME FOR LOVERS OF BEAUTY

Today, EVERELMUS is more than just a hotel – it’s a haven where guests reconnect with time itself. Breakfast in the garden, views of the canal, the calm rhythm of Bruges – here, the past becomes part of the present.

Hotel Lemongarden

Colourful Hideaway with a paradise like garden

The Hotel Lemongarden is located amidst the picturesque fishing village Sutivan on the north-west coast of the island of Brac. The boutique hotel exudes unparalleled charm, not least because of its three almost 300 year-old stone buildings. It was from three protected buildings that a harmonious unit was created in the course of the renovation, where only the best materials from the island were used. Slowing down, relaxation and enjoyment is the hideaway’s motto today. 22 suites, 13 superior rooms and 4 Marina studios overall in timeless design, and the colour concept of the south invites you to feel at ease. The interplay of colours in nature plays an important role inside as well as outside: at the pool you can enjoy the fragrance of the lemon trees and the magnificent colours of the surrounding paradise garden.

Another highlight is the private Lemongarden beach, which is a 10-minute walk away. Situated in a natural bay with an area of 8,000 sqm and surrounded by pine woods, it invites guests to exclusive days on the beach. Authentic, genuine and simply Mediterranean is the kitchen in the hotel’s own restaurant, which invites you to take a break and rest with a view over the harbour.

Maslina Resort

Mindful Luxury set in peaceful Mediterranean splendor

Maslina Resort is a modern, five-star resort on the Croatian island of Hvar, a sublime hideaway enveloped in rich history, untouched nature, culinary arts, and cultural heritage. Situated near the UNESCO-protected town of Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns on the eastern Adriatic, Maslina is also not far from the famous city of Split in Croatia. The resort is located in the breathtaking bay of Maslinica, surrounded by olive groves and terraced vineyards. It stretches over 2 hectares in the middle of a pine forest, with a view of the crystalline Adriatic Sea.

With 50 spacious rooms and suites and 3 villas – with stunning sea views, total privacy, and absolute comfort – Maslina follows the ‚Mindful Luxury‘ philosophy. This is reflected in every detail of the guest experience; the non-intrusive architecture blends-in with the island environment; they have reforested trees and protected native species, and their interior and exterior coalesce, honoring the natural world in place by celebrating the beauty in the local materials used. Maslina strongly encourages energy efficiency and procurement practices that promote local and regional suppliers. The cuisine delights the senses thanks to organic and seasonal ingredients, and all signature in-room guest amenities and natural spa cosmetics are locally designed, non-toxic, and made without any plastics.

The low-intrusive architecture floats on the landscape like scattered pavilions, decorated with a ventilated wooden facade that blends in with the island environment. The integrated interior design is inspired by the four elements of nature, which helped construct a palette driven by the cerulean Adriatic Sea, salty summer breeze, pearly white rocks, and dense green forest.

“Resting

amid olive groves and pine trees on Hvar Island’s serene coast, Maslina Resort is a secluded resort offering an abundance of space and privacy.”

“Agr ª d Chalets is your private retreat in the heart of Chiemgau—where relaxation meets adventure in the most stunning setting.”

STORY

Take a deep breath, Agrªd Chalets

You can’t see it, but you can feel it – especially when it’s as pure as here in Aschau im Chiemgau, a small village in Bavaria where the exceptional quality of the air has even been proven to be good. The Agrad Chaletdorf is located on the outskirts of the idyllic climatic health resort in a landscape that lets you breathe a sigh of relief.

BREATHE DEEPLY IN AND OUT

We breathe in 20,000 times a day. Most of the time unconsciously. If you come to Aschau in Chiemgau between Munich and Salzburg, you’ll soon change your mind about breathing unconsciously. It smells of mossy forest, colourful flowers and, above all, relaxation and freedom. In the shadow of the Kampenwand with its threepeaked summit lie lush meadows, dense forests and clear waters.

The Hohenaschau Castle, which dates back to the 12th century, sits enthroned on a hill next to trees. And the charming Bärnsee lake is just a stone’s throw away, very close to Lake Chiemsee. In addition to countless hiking opportunities, you can also take a wonderful break here, as Aschau im Chiemgau is also known as a village of benches.

“AGRAD” ON THE RIGHT PLACE

The idyllic moorland area in unspoilt nature was once a campsite and is now home to the Agrad Chalet Village. You can still spend relaxing days close to nature, find peace and quiet and leave everyday life behind you, recharge your batteries and recharge your batteries. Just a bit more stylish than before. The tiny houses and suites, inspired by Senne huts, have not interfered with any existing ecosystems or dug up any turf. They blends respectfully into its surroundings and were built on behalf of the host family Heinrichsberger by local craftsmen using natural materials such as wood, stone and metal – thought through down to the smallest detail. It is a retreat that leaves plenty of space and air to breathe.

While you linger in the heated outdoor pool, your own sauna or the hot tub, you might wonder how many shades of green you can make out here. Perhaps you can enjoy the surroundings while hiking, swimming in the surrounding lakes, mountain biking or skiing in winter. Or you could simply close your eyes, take a deep breath and exhale for a long time to calm your mind and realise that you have arrived at the right place. By yourself.

Wilmina Hotel Berlin

From prison walls to peaceful hotel oasis.”

In the heart of Charlottenburg, the Wilmina stands as an extraordinary hotel with a rich history. Originally a courthouse and women's prison, the protected architectural ensemble was transformed by architect duo Grüntuch Ernst into a welcoming space. They initiated and manage the project.

The classical façade along Berlin's Kantstraße hides a hidden idyll – a newly designed hotel offering 44 unique rooms and suites, a restaurant, and a multidisciplinary art and culture space amidst red brick buildings and lush courtyards.

Built in 1896, the structures served as a courthouse and prison until 1985. After a decade-long sustainable transformation by Grüntuch Ernst Architects, the result is a contemplative refuge blending historical and contemporary elements, featuring bright rooms with diverse layouts and unique touches. Guests can enjoy stylish rooms, enchanting garden views, and amenities like a library, fireplace lounge, spa, sauna, and gym. The Lovis restaurant, adorned with artistic lights, and the Amtsalon hosting art and design projects, offer a unique urban escape. An open history book and a retreat for relaxation and exploration.

Adjacent to the hotel reception, the in-house bakery Wilmina Brot offers handcrafted sourdough bread, baked with time and care. Meanwhile, the LOTTA day bar serves a curated selection of wines, aperitifs, and cocktails, along with homemade sweet and savory snacks, best enjoyed in the summer garden.

“Wilmina’s architectural alchemy turns Berlin’s raw history into a lesson in quiet elegance—brick, glass, and greenery in perfect dialogue.”
“Once historic, now vibrant: a reimagined ensemble offering dining, baking, conversation, and culture right in the heart of Charlottenburg.”

STORY

From Confinement to Comfort at the Wilmina Hotel Berlin

Where walls once divided, there is now space for calm, light and connection: Hotel Wilmina transforms a former courthouse and prison into a place of tranquil beauty and mindful hospitality.

Berlin is famous for its inexhaustible energy, pulsating creativity and layered history – a city that never stands still. Among traffic and urban noise, finding moments of quiet seems almost impossible.

And yet, hidden along Kantstraße, a new kind of refuge awaits: the Hotel Wilmina. Once the site of a courthouse and women’s prison enclosed by high brick walls, Grüntuch Ernst Architects have sensitively reimagined this historic site, turning a place of seclusion into one of serenity.

Enclosed by walls that now offer protection instead of confinement, Wilmina feels almost monastic. Lush courtyards connect the buildings, creating peaceful spaces to pause. Where barred windows and locked doors once defined the place, light now floods through 44 rooms and 22 lofts. The atrium, illuminated by a Bocci light installation, opens to the sky; a rooftop terrace, library, spa, and pool complete the sense of effortless calm.

History is still present – but it breathes freely here. The subtle traces of the past, like the half-vanished window grilles, serve as gentle reminders of transformation and release.

The same spirit flows through the Restaurant Lovis, housed in the former gateway building. Chef Sophia Rudolph creates modern interpretations of regional cuisine, while the hotel’s own bakery produces fresh, handmade bread daily – for guests and locals alike.

Wilmina feels like a small neighborhood, where openness and exchange replace boundaries. At the Lotta Day Bar, guests can enjoy waffles with berries and buckwheat crunch; at the Lovis Bar, drinks are classified not by labels but by taste profiles. Meanwhile, the former courthouse, now the Amtsalon, has become a multidisciplinary space for temporary art, architecture and design projects – a dialogue between past and present.

Seegut

Zeppelin

Surrounded by silence and beauty – a retreat that opens the heart and mind.

The new Seegut Zeppelin, which opened its doors on 6 May 2024, is located in the middle of an historic landscaped park directly on Lake Constance. The hotel buildings clad in glazed spruce wood around the Villa Gminder in Friedrichshafen-Fischbach are just 50 metres from the shore. The modern solitary buildings blend discreetly into the protected park. Inside, the surrounding nature is impressively restaged through wall-high windows. The furnishings are based on natural materials and high-quality design; the cuisine is based on an innovative concept with a vegetarian focus.

The Seegut Zeppelin is one of the few hotels on Lake Constance that is located directly on the shore and has its own access to the lake. Generosity, space and outstanding interior design characterise the four modern stand-alone buildings that surround the listed Villa Gminder.

“Where Lake Constance tells stories in waves, and every sunset paints a masterpiece. Seegut Zeppelin is more than just a sanctuary of comfort – this is where you rediscover yourself.”

Seegut Zeppelin: Deep Relaxation on the Shores of Lake Constance

A PLACE WHERE YOUR BREATH SLOWS DOWN AND YOUR DAYS GAIN DEPTH

At Seegut Zeppelin in Friedrichshafen, each day acquires a special dimension. In front of the hotel, Lake Constance remains calm and shallow, while its deepest point, reaching around 250 metres, lies nearby. It feels as if the lake merges with the sky while softly humming zeppelins float above, carrying stories of times gone by.

NATURE AND HISTORY IN PERFECT HARMONY

Seegut Zeppelin is a spacious, modern hotel ensemble built around the historic Villa Gminder. Ancient trees from all over the world, wild shrubs, flower meadows, and fruit trees shape the grounds, which extend to a 200-metre-long shoreline seamlessly merging into the vastness of Lake Constance. As you stroll along the water, each step offers a new perspective. The view of the lake is both calming and inspiring. Perhaps it is the fresh lake air that invigorates the senses and lets your thoughts flow like the inflowing streams.

A PLACE FOR SMALL AND BIG MOMENTS

Memories are created here – the whispering of reeds in the wind, the reflection of clouds on calm waters, the laughter of children as they jump into the lake, and the quiet sighs of adults as they feel the refreshing coolness before climbing the steps back to Seegut Zeppelin. Whether it is a picnic in the garden with regional ingredients or a meditation by the shore, Seegut Zeppelin offers space for tranquillity, relaxation, and new energy. Staying here is an invitation to waves of relaxation and moments of true depth.

LAKE CONSTANCE TELLS ITS STORIES

Lake Constance itself tells stories of its formation during the Ice Age thousands of years ago, of Ferdinand von Zeppelin’s first flight experiments in the early 20th century, and the founding of the International Water Protection Commission for Lake Constance, and of the opera sounds of the Bregenz Festival echoing across the water each summer. With an area of 536 square kilometres, it is Germany’s largest lake, reaching water temperatures between 4°C in winter and up to 25°C in summer. It borders three countries – Germany, Austria, and Switzerland – and is home to the largest floating stage in the world.

“In the Lake Constance region, nature whispers through every wave, while history lingers in every stone — a place where past and present dance together.”

Dexamenes Seaside Hotel

Rough luxe experience in converted concrete wine tanks

Dexamenes Seaside Hotel is located on one of the most unspoilt coastlines of the Western Peloponnese, on Kourouta Beach. The former winery, located directly on the sea front, consists of wine tanks, which have been minimally restored to retain their original industrial appearance, and are laid out in two parallel rows of concrete blocks with an extension in steel frame construction.

The renowned Athens architecture firm k-studio was commissioned to redesign the former wine factory. From the outset it was clear that the strong history and raw beauty of the existing buildings should not only be preserved, but be showcased in a design that would breathe new life into their walls. The new design complements their brutality with elegant interventions and transforms their austere functionality into a place of calm, comfort and relaxation. A complementary palette of concrete, steel, timber and engineered glass ensures that new construction elements tread lightly, leaving the existing buildings relatively untouched and retaining their strong presence.

34 industrial chic suites in converted former wine tanks and 2 former ChemLabs dating back to the 1920s are available for design-loving guests to enjoy an exceptional stay from April to October. Many of them have a wide covered terrace overlooking the Ionian Sea. The patina of exposed interior concrete walls contrasts with engineered glass partitions and polished terrazzo floors while elements of timber add dashes of warmth in a nod to the area’s nautical history.

The accommodation portfolio has recently been expanded by eight newly built Seaview Terrace Suites, offering even greater privacy and uninterrupted views across the Ionian Sea. With generous outdoor terraces and a seamless transition between interior and exterior space, these new units reinterpret the hotel’s signature industrial-minimal aesthetic in a lighter, more open architectural language while remaining fully aligned with the original design concept.

Dexamenes is an architectural slice of Greek trading history on the mainland’s Peloponnese coast. In addition to its architectural roots, the luxury resort also focuses on regional culture and local experiences. Considering that the Peloponnese peninsula has more vineyards and grape varieties than any other region in Greece, it is not surprising that local specialities and viticulture play an essential role at Dexamenes Seaside Hotel.

The kitchen prepares a variety of choices from breakfast to dinner that range from degustation menus to hyper-local meals with traditional references, placing high priority on the dietary preferences of each guest. Guests can indulge in Greek cuisine at the taverna, enjoy a drink at the beachfront bar-lounge – or experience refined gastronomy at the already awarded fine dining restaurant dex.Silo.01, located inside one of the original silo tanks. Here, contemporary culinary craftsmanship meets the raw industrial backdrop, creating a distinctive dining atmosphere that perfectly reflects the spirit of Dexamenes.

Peace and relaxation can be found in an ex wine Silo Tank converted into a contemporary sanctuary where therapies such as yoga, sound healing and massage treatments take place.

“A masterclass in restraint, material and honesty. Brutalist forms softened by light, salt and silence creates a outstanding statement on the coast.”

Where once grape must fermented, today the culinary and artistic visions of Nikos Karaflos undergo their own metamorphosis –inside a silo of a former winery. But calling it “just a dining space” would be an understatement. The self-proclaimed Imagineer has transformed the circular, open-top steel structure into a realm that fuses fine dining, immersive performance, and conceptual art. It is a space where history, architecture, and gastronomy converse in perfect harmony.

STORY SILO LOVE

The abandoned 1920s winery on the western Peloponnese coast, with its raw, brutal beauty, captivated Karaflos immediately. And what does an engineer do with such a relic? In his hands, it becomes a canvas of limitless possibilities. The Dexamenes Seaside Hotel now stands as a singular destination in hospitality, balancing raw industrial elegance with refined sophistication. At the heart of the complex, two towering steel tanks remain almost untouched. Their weathered surfaces reflect in the surrounding water, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. Visitors approach the silo over reclaimed concrete slabs, each step immersing them in a space defined by its own acoustic identity, where Karaflos’ curated experiences unfold.

One of these tanks, under the name dex.Silo.01, is regularly transformed into entirely new worlds. Some experiences are open to guests; others exist solely as performance art – ritualistic, ephemeral, and unforgettable. The Zymosis Experience celebrates fine dining through the art of fermentation, a process intimately connected to the history of the site. Winemakers, brewers, and bakers contribute their expertise to a menu that mirrors the season and the Peloponnesian terroir: crisp vegetables, handmade pasta, rich olive oil… and naturally, local wines.

Meanwhile, Full Moon, No Moon draws inspiration from the lunar cycle. Stunning visual productions paired with an original soundtrack create the setting for a dining ritual that feels both cosmic and intimate. It feels like a moonlit ceremony, showcasing the skills of Karaflos in a uniquely theatrical way.

Then there is Traditional, Illegal, a series of performances that push beyond culinary delight. These events spotlight cultural, social, and environmental issues: from restrictions on open-fire baking to pasteurization mandates and the neglect of heritage seeds. Here, Karaflos turns protest into art, connecting activism and sensory experience. And where grape must once fermented, ideas now take flight. Nikos Karaflos, the Imagineer, builds frameworks that give visions space to grow. He connects people with places, past ways of thinking with contemporary vision – and a 5,000-hectare silo with love.

“In

the heart of an abandoned winery, Nikos Karaflos turns industry into intimacy, transforming a steel silo into a theatre of taste.”

Where Hippocrates would go to the spa… Gundari

Resort

If the father of medicine were to seek a wellness oasis today, his path might lead him to the Gundari Resort on Folegandros – a place where ancient Greek healing wisdom meets modern spa culture.

HOLISTIC HIPPOCRATES

When body, mind, and soul are brought into harmony, the body activates its self-healing powers. This ancient wisdom is also the foundation of the Gundari Spa philosophy. Yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, balanced nutrition, and sophisticated treatments encompass the offerings inspired by Hippocrates’ holistic ideas. An offering that is as much inspired by Greek history as it is by Greek mythology and the raw island of Folegandros itself.

HEALING ELDERBERRY

At the beginning of each spa visit, guests are greeted with a drink whose recipe was recommended by Hippocrates himself. Known as sour honey, the elderberry oxymel is made from organic apple cider vinegar, Greek honey, elderberries, and other native herbs and spices. Greek nature is rich in herbs, flowers, and aromatic plants with extraordinary healing powers. The Gundari Spa collaborated with a renowned Greek herbalist to create therapeutic teas and herbal compresses for massages, incorporating native plant species—often wild-harvested by local suppliers who maintain a strong connection to the land and the traditional healing methods of their ancestors.

LIKE A GOD IN GREECE

Have you ever heard of Pneuma? The vital life energy that transcends the physical? In mythology, Apollo is the representative of Pneuma, which is similar to the Indian concept of Prana. With Apollo’s Essence, Gundari has created one of many treatments designed to activate these energies through yoga, guided meditation, a head massage, and a releasing ritual with the palm of the hand. This must be what it feels like to be a god in Greece…

“The most effective medicine is the natural healing power that lies within each of us.”

The Kumaon & Hippie Hill: A Spiritual Retreat in the Indian Mountains

High up in the Kumaon Mountains, amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Uttarakhand, lies a place full of mysticism and tranquility: the Kasar Devi Temple, better known as “Hippie Hill.” For centuries, this magical site has attracted seekers, travelers, and artists – and just a stone’s throw away, The Kumaon offers a luxurious oasis that perfectly complements the spiritual ambiance of the region.

THE MAGIC OF HIPPIE HILL

The journey to Kasar Devi Temple winds through dense pine forests and along steep mountain slopes. Even the approach is a sensory experience: the crisp mountain air, the whispering wind, and the sweeping views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks make everyday life feel distant.

The temple itself, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga, is a simple shrine made of stone and wood. Yet, its true power lies in the unique energy of the place. Kasar Devi is one of the few locations in the world with an exceptionally strong geomagnetic field—comparable to Machu Picchu or Stonehenge. No wonder that in the 1960s, a generation of free spirits, philosophers, and artists gathered here. Notable figures such as Timothy Leary, Cat Stevens, and Bob Dylan found inspiration in its atmosphere.

A PLACE OF PEACE AND REFLECTION

Today, Hippie Hill is a destination for spiritual pilgrims, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a retreat. Charming tea houses and cozy guesthouses define the local scene, while hiking trails offer breathtaking views of the majestic landscape.

One of the most magical moments is the sunset, when the last rays of the day bathe the mountains in golden light—a moment that lingers in memory.

Badhaus Brixen

Where architecture, art, and alpine serenity meet

Tucked into the heart of Brixen, between alpine charm and urban edge, Badhaus is a striking architectural retreat that fuses heritage with contemporary design. Built on the site of a former public bathhouse, the hotel blends old and new through a sculptural, light-filled concept.

Designed by bergmeisterwolf, the architecture is defined by two interconnected structures composed of just four materials: clay brick, copper, fluted glass, and steel. Exposed concrete appears selectively in the bar and guest rooms, adding a restrained modern contrast. Set among historic buildings, Badhaus asserts a confident yet respectful presence within its surroundings.

Open-air walkways connect the two towers and lead to the rooms, emphasizing transparency and fluid spatial movement. The 21 rooms, including four suites, are designed with understated elegance, using local ash wood, aqua-green quartzite, and fine Italian linen to create a calm, tactile atmosphere.

A secluded rooftop terrace offers views of surrounding hills and vineyards, while contemporary art plays a central role throughout the hotel. Michael Fliri’s light installation Liquid Starry Sky hovers above the lobby like a luminous river, and his surreal sculpture Bathrobe welcomes guests at the entrance with quiet humor and reflection.

Adding to the sense of ease and discovery, the BrixenCard is included with every stay, granting guests a range of benefits such as free admission to museums and cultural sites, as well as numerous discounts and complimentary access to public transport in the city and surrounding region—inviting exploration beyond the hotel’s walls.

BRIXEN | ITALY

Arthotel Lasserhaus

A hotel like an exhibition: where art, lifestyle and history meet

Arthotel Lasserhaus is a refined 4-star superior art hotel housed in a carefully restored 15th-century aristocratic residence in the historic Stufels quarter of Brixen, Northern Italy. The project, led by Milan-based Vudafieri-Saverino & Partners, reimagines the building by preserving key historic features — vaulted ceilings, original frescoes and the inner courtyard — and integrating them with contemporary architecture and interiors to create a seamless dialogue between past and present.

The restoration emphasizes respect for the genius loci: original architectural elements are retained and reinterpreted alongside modern design and materials such as larch and beech wood, brass details and soft, tactile surfaces. Warm, nature-inspired palettes and custom-designed furniture enhance the intimate yet sophisticated atmosphere throughout guest rooms and public spaces. The hotel comprises ten individually curated rooms (three suites, six doubles, one single), each conceived as a calm, elegant retreat — many offering views over the Isarco river and Brixen’s historic skyline.

Art is a defining yet deliberately relaxed presence. The concept unites the private Faller Family Collection of classical paintings (17th–20th century) with a growing selection of contemporary works, curated to create a living, evolving cultural environment rather than a static display. Rotating exhibitions, readings, performances and artist-in-residence initiatives position the hotel as a creative meeting point — open both to guests and the local community.

Beyond art and architecture, Arthotel Lasserhaus celebrates the pleasures of everyday Italian living. Communal spaces invite guests to linger — from the breakfast lounge to informal social salon moments, with complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day. Aperitivo rituals, quiet conversations, and upcoming wine tastings and intimate cellar events add a sense of Dolce Vita, encouraging guests to experience Brixen not only through culture, but also through taste, atmosphere and rhythm.

Exploration comes naturally: the BrixenCard, included with every stay, offers free admission to museums and cultural sites, complimentary use of public transport and a wide range of discounts — opening up the city, its boutiques, cafés and surrounding alpine landscapes with ease. From strolling through historic streets to discovering nature just beyond the city limits, Arthotel Lasserhaus becomes a starting point for a lifestyle-driven stay — where design, enjoyment, culture and nature flow effortlessly together.

Locanda al Colle Retreat and perfect backdrop for modern art

The boutique hotel Locanda al Colle is in the northern coastal part of Tuscany, on a sunny hill just outside of Camaiore. After an extensive renovation, the building, which was once a farmhouse, has blossomed into a sophisticated and modern hotel where the air is as imbued with art as it is with the scent of the gardens. The Locanda is able to surprise and move you in every corner of each room with interesting works of art in a variety of expressive forms. The owner’s private collection has grown over the years, and guests are able to share in the pleasure of the artwork. Sculptures, created by contemporary artists who find that the property is the ideal setting for their works, are scattered around the guesthouse.

There are a total of 12 stylistically confident and tasteful rooms on three floors. Elaborate details, selected individual pieces and vintage design classics give the nine double rooms and three suites their distinctive character.

Due to the boutique hotel’s hillside location, situated between olive trees, lavender, rosemary and sage, visitors enjoy a breathtaking view of the Tuscan coast and landscape from the panorama terrace.

Quiet and stylish places of retreat are the hotel’s own heated saltwater pool, surrounded by olives and fragrant herbal plants, as well as the private pavilion in the nearby beach club, just a ten-minute drive away from the hotel. When entering the Locanda al Colle, you can already sense a relaxed environment, which makes it a one-of-a-kind location for hospitality, harmony and warmth.

Locanda al Colle: A Place of Artful Living

HOW A PASSION FOR ART TRANSFORMS THE EXPERIENCE AT LOCANDA AL COLLE IN TUSCANY

A stay at Locanda al Colle in Tuscany is more than a holiday. It’s a quiet dialogue with form, colour and material – an invitation to open up to beauty, not just in the landscape, but in the art that fills this place.

Here, among the gentle hills near Camaiore, Riccardo Barsottelli, the hotel’s host and soul, has created not just a refined retreat, but a living art concept that weaves its way through rooms, terraces and gardens.

A CURATED WAY OF BEING

Locanda al Colle is not a hotel in the traditional sense – it is a space for dialogue. Between guest and host, between past and present, between object and emotion. The collection that Barsottelli has built over the years includes sculpture, painting, installations and design pieces by international artists such as Maja Thommen, Daniele Guidugli, Max Lamb, Paul Mercier and Anne-Claire van den Elshout. His passion for contemporary art and design is far more than aesthetic decoration – it is a philosophy.

What makes this collection unique is its organic nature – works move, spaces change, the atmosphere shifts. The art lives within the house: not behind glass, not static – but sensual, dynamic and present.

ART AS ATMOSPHERE

Sculptures in white Carrara marble meet bronze figures; abstract ceramics encounter playful terracotta works. Each piece tells its own story – and together, they form an atmosphere in which aesthetic awareness and personal experience blend.

Guests can feel it: nothing here is random. Every room, every object has been thoughtfully chosen – not for show, but to inspire. In this way, Locanda al Colle becomes a place where travel evolves into quiet contemplation.

THE HOTEL AS GALLERY – AND HOME

It’s the subtle balance between artistic clarity and heartfelt hospitality that defines Locanda al Colle. You don’t feel like you're visiting a museum – but rather the home of someone who lives with intention, style, and generosity, and who shares that with others.

To be surrounded by art here does not create distance – it fosters intimacy. Those who are curious can dive deeper, learn more about the artists and the stories behind the pieces – or simply enjoy their silent presence.

FOR THOSE WHO SEEK THE EXCEPTIONAL

Locanda al Colle is part of Lifestylehotels – a collection of unique places with a clear attitude and soul. And that attitude resonates in every detail: in the architecture, in the choice of materials, in breakfast on the terrace – and in the artistic language that flows through it all.

For those in search of places where beauty is quiet, layered and lasting, this is more than a hotel: It’s a home – with art, character, and story.

“Art and architecture meet in a gentle conversation, and creates a personal, almost privat feel”

“Perched above Merano, Küglerhof is less a hotel than a viewpoint on time: unhurried, expansive, and deeply rooted in place.”

One Sense at a Time

The Küglerhof may be easy to describe — yet it is far more beautiful to experience the small boutique hotel above Merano in South Tyrol with all the senses. And to draw attention to those subtle details that remain hidden unless we consciously pause to notice them. So what can we see, smell, taste, feel and hear here, in Karoline Dilitz’s retreat?

SEEING

Merano lies at your feet, the mountains rising beyond, the sky stretching above. There is no escaping the view. It takes your breath away and gently satisfies a longing for openness and space. And yet, it always reveals something new. Depending on the season, it appears soft, crisp or dramatic. At times grey or blue, then suddenly blush pink or bathed in gold.

What begins outside continues indoors. Generous windows, natural light and clean lines. Historic walls meet contemporary architecture. Inviting seating areas become islands of stillness — spaces for thought, conversation and quiet moments. Art and design objects tell their own stories.

The Küglerhof radiates calm and, at the same time, a sense of life. Warm, attentive staff moving softly through the rooms. Guests lingering on the terrace with a cappuccino, a daily newspaper in hand. Couples savouring the moment. Hikers setting off — and later returning, ready to pause, breathe, and simply be.

SMELLING

If the Küglerhof were a perfume, it would carry the scents of mountain air, warm wood, and flowering meadows. Sunlight warms the timber, freshly cut grass fills the air. Notes of herbs and earth mingle with the dampness of autumn or the delicate blossoms of spring apples.

There is the comforting aroma of coffee and Küglerhof candles, of freshly laundered linens, and of freedom itself. From the kitchen come fragrances that balance Italian lightness with South Tyrolean heartiness: broths, herbs, butter. At times the air is sweet with pastry, at others savory with roasting meats.

TASTING

There is no signature dish here. Everything tastes like love. The homemade bread. The pasta. Simple dishes crafted from the finest ingredients. Warm, balanced, honest. In spring, flavors are fresh and herbaceous. Summer brings light, fruity, and sweet notes. In autumn, dishes feel heartier — roasted meats, dumplings, chestnuts, and apples. A South Tyrolean Pinot Noir is always the perfect companion. Every bite at the Küglerhof is a delight.

FEELING

In winter, the place feels quiet and cool, almost a little deserted. Then a deep calm sets in. With spring, and throughout summer and autumn, it gradually fills with life — open, light, lively, bustling, and sociable. Entirely natural. It invites you to walk barefoot over stones and through green grass, to feel the cool water on your skin as you glide into the pool — and that delicate tingle as you surface again.

It is also an invitation to be enveloped: by the soothing warmth of the sauna, by a comforting cup of coffee, by blankets on the terrace, and by the special atmosphere inside the house.

The sense of well-being among guests is palpable. Often, they express it directly, which is the highest compliment. They linger, they savor, and many return time and again. The connection often begins with a handshake at the welcome.

HEARING

At six in the morning, all is still. Birds chirp softly, a neighbor’s rooster crows. The first footsteps crunch on the gravel. In the distance, cowbells tinkle. Here and there, a splash in the pool. Cups clink. A bocce ball rolls with a muted thud across the lawn, strikes another, and then — silence.

Looking out over the valley, you can hear the guests breathe in — and exhale even more deeply. Inside, gentle music plays. Outside, nature has its own soundtrack.

As evening falls, the firewood in the fireplace cracks. Conversations grow softer, more intimate. And before sleep, a warm “Good night” or “Buona notte” lingers in the air.

i SUITE

All-suite design hotel in Rimini by the sea

The first all-suite design hotel on the Rimini Riviera is right at the heart of the action, directly on Rimini’s beach promenade. Guests are welcomed into a spacious lobby that is dominated by brilliant whites and features a cosy fireplace. The bar is surrounded by mirrored walls while bright green artificial trees are scattered throughout the room. The 52 suites are up to 62 sqm large, so guests enjoy the comfort of an apartment and service of a hotel at the same time.

The hotel’s own i-FAME restaurant, where the chef Daniele Succi also likes to create futuristic dishes using regional products, promises unforgettable culinary highlights. The i-FEEL Good spa also leaves nothing to be desired: on the top floor of the hotel it’s not just the heated infinity pool that offers a magical view over the sea but also two saunas, a Turkish bath, a Thalassotherapy pool, sensory showers, an ice room and a relaxation area with fireplace.

The i-CE AGE Swimming Pool offers year-round luxury with a constant 31–34°C temperature in winter and a serene retreat in summer, complete with a relaxing sunbathing area. It’s the perfect intimate alternative to the beach.

“Days at OLM unfold at the pace of the valley: slow mornings, long views, and evenings shaped by stillness.”

SAND IN TAUFERS | ITALY

OLM Nature Escape

An escapist stay in a fairytale landscape

Nestled in South Tyrol's Tauferer Ahrntal, an Eco Apart hotel, blends future and tradition. Fully energy selfsufficient, CO2-neutral, and authentically regional, it opens in December 2023. Owner Christian Lechner sees sustainability as a mission, making OLM the first vacation resort in South Tyrol entirely self-sufficient in energy. The 33 accommodation units, crafted from warm solid wood, offer a modern alpine ambiance. The Aparthotel features a 60-meter diameter relaxation garden with a natural pond and a 25-meter sports pool, heated year-round.

Or, they can be inspired by the culinary calendar of the OLM kitchen with its seasonal South Tyrolean-Mediterranean specialties, which they receive approximately two weeks before their arrival, to enjoy delightful evenings according to their individual preferences during their stay. In addition, Berni Aichner occasionally invites guests to a culinary themed evening featuring a creative tasting menu. The motto of the wine list is "Best of South Tyrol" with a fine touch of Italy, France, Germany, and Austria. The wine list is also excellently curated and exclusively includes natural wines.

The Tauferer Ahrntal, a quiet side valley of the Pustertal, offers over 80 three-thousand-meter peaks for hiking and (e)biking. Winter activities include snowshoeing and crosscountry skiing in the flatter valley or at higher altitudes. The Skiworld Ahrntal and Kronplatz near Bruneck provide diverse winter sports opportunities.

“Minimalist chalet style in an ultrasmart architecture concept embedded by serene nature.”

OLM : A Circular Vision in the Ahrntal Valley

AN ECO-APARTHOTEL WHERE ARCHITECTURE, ENERGY AND NATURE FLOW IN HARMONY

When a thread is pulled from the green fabric of nature, it draws attention. The same happened with OLM, a circular eco-aparthotel in South Tyrol’s Ahrntal Valley that seems to have landed like a futuristic sculpture — yet lives entirely in tune with its surroundings.

A PERFECT CIRCLE

Before OLM, there was a small guesthouse on the same site. The new construction required large-scale earthworks, especially for the geothermal system that now forms the core of the hotel’s energy concept. Initial skepticism quickly turned into admiration: OLM is energy self-sufficient and CO²-neutral, transforming the idea of sustainability into a tangible experience.

ARCHITECTURE AS A CYCLE

The circular design embodies the philosophy of the closed loop – a symbol of balance, continuity, and renewal. “Some called it a UFO,” the team recalls with a smile. But rather than something alien, OLM emerged from a deeply human vision: to create a place where architecture and landscape coexist naturally, beautifully, and sustainably.

A LANDMARK OF MINDFUL TRAVEL

Today, OLM stands as a new icon of the Ahrntal Valley – a testament to mindful travel and modern, sustainable living. A place where nature is not only the backdrop, but a living part of the story.

Farmhouse Torgglerhof

Refreshingly different

The Farmhouse Torgglerhof is a delightful and traditional hotel located in San Martino in Passiria valley. It is surrounded by the beautiful Alpine landscape of the region and offers its guests a peaceful and laid-back setting.

The hotel has been run by the Torggler family for several generations and provides guests from around the world with an unforgettable experience. No matter whether you want to unwind while immersed in picturesque nature or discover the culture and traditions of the location, here you’ll find everything your heart could possibly desire. The Farmhouse Torgglerhof is an oasis of tranquillity and relaxation, where well-being resides amid tradition and innovation.

SAN MARTINO IN PASSIRIA | ITALY
“Between orchard rows and mountain ridgelines, Torgglerhof invites guests to recalibrate—to trade urgency for altitude and rediscover the poetry of the everyday.”

A day at Farmhouse Torgglerhof

At the entrance to the Passeier Valley, where the mountains draw a quiet line between movement and stillness, stands Farmhouse Torgglerhof — a place shaped by growth. Once known as the “Apple Hotel,” it still harvests abundant fruit, but today vines, vegetables, and new ideas thrive alongside the orchards. Above all, it cultivates time — and the art of using it well.

EARLY. PROPERLY EARLY.

Morning may begin before coffee, with a sunrise hike into alpine silence. An hour uphill, the reward is elemental: peaks ignited by first light, tea warming cold hands, brownies shared at altitude. No speeches. Just a horizon in flames.

BREAKFAST, RECONSIDERED

Back at the farmhouse, breakfast unfolds as a seasonal tasting: salmon with honey-mustard and horseradish, fruit cut fresh, house-aged cheese scented with truffle or herbs. Thoughtfully portioned, generously varied — abundance without excess.

THE LUXURY OF PAUSE

The day opens into choice. Another espresso, or a slow exhale in one of the grass-roofed bathhouses tucked into the garden — one for families, one for adults. Meadow, water, sky. Yoga mats unfurl; singing bowls resonate. Here, quiet is curated as carefully as cuisine.

A VINEYARD INTERLUDE

By afternoon, founder Sepp steers his vintage Pinzgauer up stony paths toward the vineyards that now line the hills above the farm. A picnic awaits among the vines; a cellar door carved into the hillside reveals cool stone rooms stocked with the farm’s treasures. Wine is poured exactly where it grows — a testament to the next generation, who rooted their vision in this soil.

COURSE BY COURSE

As dusk settles, the kitchen — led by Markus Prenn — presents a five-course menu drawn largely from the surrounding land. Guests compose their own tasting journey, each plate served with unstudied warmth. Hospitality here is not performance, but presence.

WHEN THE GARDEN SINGS

Later, music drifts across the lawn. Cocktails are shaken, a wood stove glows, laughter rises into the orchard night. Sepp invites a dance; someone accepts.

And somewhere between firelight and mountain air, the distinction fades: you are no longer visiting. You are part of the rhythm — of harvest, family, and feast. Leaving, inevitably, feels harder than arriving.

“Set

against the Passeier Valley, Torgglerhof is less a stay and more an immersion into seasonality and the quiet rituals of South Tyrolean life.”

Sextantio

Albergo Diffuso Culturally

historical project that evokes the spirit of ancient rural life

Sextantio Albergo Diffuso is a fortified medieval village in the mountains of Abruzzo in the National Park Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga. The hotel breathes life back into the historic castle village. With the help of the Museum “Genti d’Abruzzo” over 10 years has been tried to remain faithful to the ancient traditions and customs and to give the hotel as best as possible the original identity stamp of a medieval village. Travel through time, into another world and let yourself be enchanted.

The interior design of the rooms is inspired by pictures taken by the Swiss guide Paul Scheuermeier in Abruzzo in the 1920s. In order to preserve the unity of the aesthetic-affective interior design and avoid the excessive use of contemporary elements, native objects, as well as ancient and traditional local materials are used. The search for the archaic soul of these spaces has led to the preservation of the small windows, the subdued light, the uneven floors. Handmade soaps from olive oil and other products made strictly according to traditional methods are part of the thoughtful decoration of the rooms.

The restaurant “Sextantio Cucina” is dominated by two large stone ceiling arches and a central fireplace. All furniture is primitive, minimal and antique dark wooden furniture. The museum dedicated to the people of Abruzzo was the inspiration for the handcrafted plates and mugs used for all meals and drinks. All food is based on what would have been available and eaten back then. Local ingredients like native, locally grown crops are prepared into traditional dishes according to the original recipes.

“All food is based on what would have been around and eaten back then. We use native, locally grown crops and recreate original recipes.”

Hotel Heureka

The quintessence of the Venetian way of life

Hotel Heureka is situated in the authentic heart of Venice, in the Cannaregio district, where the original Venetian life pulsates and is the ideal starting point to discover Venice and its versatility. The hotel combines the comfort of a modern boutique hotel, the charm of a private residence and the magical beauty of a 16th Century Venetian palazzo with breathtaking Venetian architecture. The hotel interiors are a fascinating mosaic of styles that give each space a highly original and unique look.

Each of the 10 rooms is characterized by a precise identity. During the restoration, the history and traditions of Venice were carefully preserved, and are now enhanced by the modern design of the selected furnishings and fabrics. The interior of the rooms is a successful mosaic of different styles, which give each room its unique character. In many places in the hotel there are paintings by Julian Kohl, which the artist painted exclusively for the hotel. The idyllic walled garden of Hotel Heureka, sipping a perfect breakfast espresso with the gentle sound of birdsong, is the true treasure of the Palazzo. On warm days it is an oasis of coolness and tranquillity, an ideal refuge to relax. At nightfall it enchants with its charm and ambience.

The two great Piani Nobili, the music room and the bar are open to all guests for pleasant hours or a relaxed end to the day. Fresh modern twist brings these rooms to life, and an exacting attention to detail has been given throughout, to create a design and decor that reflects the atmosphere and the grandeur which Venetian nobility would have. The entire palazzo can also be booked for private functions, weddings, exclusive events, or for a family party marking a landmark anniversary

VENICE | ITALY
“Elegant

furnishings and original 16th century elements make Hotel Heureka a unique hotel in Venice, where a refined setting and all the most modern amenities will make your stay a perfect moment.”

This is Venice at a slower pace: Hotel Heureka is made for lingering, not hurrying.

The Hotel Heureka is not a place for those who rush through life, but for those who find wonder in the art of lingering. The Venetian palazzo reminds us that stillness can be the most graceful form of motion. A gentle ode to the Heureka and the timeless palazzi of Venice.

Are there really people who remain untouched by the magic of Venice? Hard to imagine. Even those who merely snap a few photos, sip the obligatory Bellini, and hurry through its narrow lanes can hardly escape the city’s unique allure. Yet La Serenissima reveals her true self only to those who give her time. Those who pause now and then, who lift their gaze to the architectural faces of the city — the palazzi — are rewarded with glimpses of bygone eras and an encounter with an utterly authentic Venice. Just as at the Heureka, where one can experience the city in its quiet, genuine truth.

Where once only water filled the lagoon, people many millennia ago drove wooden piles deep into the soft mud and built platforms upon them: the very foundations from which Venice emerged. Upon these, in later centuries, palazzi rose in magnificent rows, their proud silhouettes reflected in the canals below. Depending on the century of their creation, their façades bear Gothic, Byzantine-oriental, classical, or Baroque influences, adorned with quatrefoils, clustered windows, pointed arches, and graceful balconies.

All the palazzi share the same orientation toward the canal, perhaps even a quiet gesture of reverence to the element that surrounds them. Their magnificent façades, with clustered windows and colorful ornamentation, are especially striking and accessible from the water. The portego serves as the grand entrance to the house, often home to workshops as well. To this day, it stores not only goods delivered by boat, but also the ancient knowledge of Venetian craftsmanship.

The first floor, the piano nobile, is the noble heart of the house — generous in space and in spirit — as is the courtyard. The upper floors traditionally contain the family’s private quarters and flats.

A palazzo could well be seen as a historical predecessor of the modern multipurpose building — much like the Hotel Heureka itself. For, contrary to what economic logic might suggest, the Valach family did not turn this 16th-century palazzo into a hotel filled with countless rooms. Instead, they preserved the spirit of the house and enriched it with the sensibility of a contemporary boutique hotel.

When you open the heavy wooden door of the Heureka, you step into the portego — the characteristic passageway of Venetian palazzi. From here, a staircase leads up to the piani nobili, where original rooms unfold with frescoes, beamed ceilings, and Venetian terrazzo floors — evoking the noble spirit of the house’s past. Higher still, you reach the artfully curated guest rooms, each one unique, each with its own story to tell.

Particularly striking is the secret garden, with its old trees and a sculpture by Julian Khol — a rare sanctuary directly by the canal that preserves the atmosphere of a private residence. The choice of materials, too from historical structures to contemporary Rubelli fabrics reflects a respectful dialogue between tradition and modernity.

Thus, the Heureka is far more than a hotel housed in a historic palazzo — it is a place where the very essence of Venetian life continues to resonate: authentic, elegant, and timelessly contemporary.

“The Heureka preserves the spirit of a private house, not the tempo of a hotel.”

Genji Kyoto

A Tribute to Japanese Aesthetics

Located in a tranquil riverside neighborhood at the heart of Kyoto, GENJI Kyoto is a contemporary interpretation of Machiya townhouses, marrying traditional concepts with modern amenities. Inspired by the Japanese masterpiece Tale of Genji, the story of which took place in the vicinity, the hotel’s designers took motifs from the novel to create a wabi sabi world of beauty and harmony.

The building is modern, with Western-style rooms and beds. But the features, materials, details, ambience and space arrangements are Japanese. There is a Zen garden for contemplation, a rooftop garden for connecting with nature, and pocket gardens in and around the rooms. This is a very Japanese concept where gardens are created to blur the lines between inside and outside. Having access to nature and the seasons while being indoors has been a perpetual quest of the Japanese people, starting with the imperial gardens of the Heian period through the centuries to the pocket gardens in people’s townhouses.

The hotel’s walls are concrete, but the Japanese technique of imprinting cedar gives them the look and feel of organic wood. In the lobby there is handmade Washi paper incorporated into the windows, producing a stunning play of light and shadows that is a quintessential feature of Japanese design. Modern amenities complement the overall concept, achieving a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

The rooms and suites at GENJI KYOTO are showcases of Kyoto artisanship. Custom-designed and handmade furniture, warm solid wood, natural fabrics, and Washi lamps create a Japanese ambience that is both modern and timeless. Expansive windows frame picturesque views of serene gardens or robust wildlife on Kamo River. Paintings by young Kyoto artists pay homage to chapters and themes of the Tale of Genji, said to be the oldest novel in the world. Each room has a tatami sitting area, writing desk, dining table, and soaking tub.

The hotel has added a renovated Machiya townhouse to its accommodations. Just 2 minutes walk away, it is a Meiji-era house where heritage features find expression alongside modern furnishings. From vintage lamps and decorative windows to tokonoma alcoves and the "Floating World" Zen garden, the ambience is old-world and serene. Yet one can find the luxury of a King bed, sofa lounges, table dining by an open kitchen, and a skylight study. It is ideal for a more private stay where one can still enjoy the facilities of a full-service hotel.

More than just a hotel, GENJI Kyoto serves as a cultural bridge between past and present. Amidst the vibrant city, it offers a sanctuary for relaxation and contemplation, inviting guests to experience Japan’s timeless elegance in a refined but cosy setting.

“Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, a serene garden sanctuary invites you to immerse yourself in Japanese culture within an elegant contemporary setting.”

Genji Kyoto: Roots of Time

A JOURNEY TO KYOTO IS NEVER COMPLETE WITHOUT A VISIT TO A JAPANESE GARDEN.

Hotel Genji, located on the clear waters of the Kamo River, carries this heritage within. Its name and design are a quiet homage to The Tale of Genji – a literary masterpiece from the Heian period in which gardens are emotional landscapes and symbolic spaces. Guests who stay here step into a world that exists between past and present, fiction and reality, inside and outside – as if gently drawn into the handmade washi pages of the 1,000-year-old novel.

Three gardens – and with them, three distinct atmospheres and philosophies – have been carefully composed by landscape architect Marc Peter Keane, who has lived in Kyoto for over 20 years.

UKIFUNE GARDEN

In the lobby, a tranquil scene unfolds. The drifting boat Ukifune is represented by a large stone floating in a pebble stream surrounded by moss. It symbolizes the thoughts of the novel’s heroine, adrift in the currents of life. Beyond its literary reference, this Zen garden alludes to the idea that Earth itself is a drifting vessel, carrying its fleeting cargo – life – through the cosmos.

SKY FOREST GARDEN

From the rooftop, the views of the river and surrounding mountains are nothing short of breathtaking. The terrace is a shich’in – a hidden oasis in the heart of the city. Lush plants mentioned in The Tale of Genji form a harmonious ensemble here on the top floor, expressing a deep reverence and love for nature and gardens – sentiments that are also vividly present in the novel.

POCKET GARDENS

Then there are the small gardens that blend seamlessly with the guest rooms, expressing the Japanese longing to bring nature indoors. Nearly every room features one of these miniature gardens. Each one includes an antique stone object that serves as a sculptural focal point. The concept of tsuboniwa – a small courtyard garden – was already common during the time of The Tale of Genji. The court ladies in the novel even adopted the names of plants from their personal tsuboniwa. Perhaps this is a quiet invitation to ask yourself which plant might speak for you.

STORY

Hotel K5

The japanese Art of Subtle Boundlessness

The Hotel K5, located in Nihonbashi Kabutocho, is a striking blend of history, culture, and modern design. Originally constructed in 1923 as a bank, the building was transformed into a unique design hotel in 2020. Nestled next to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the K5 bridges traditional Tokyo with the trendy eastern districts. Its central location makes it ideal for exploring landmarks such as Tokyo Station, the Imperial Palace, and Ginza, all within walking distance.

The Hotel's design, envisioned by the Swedish architectural studio Claesson Koivisto Rune, revolves around the Japanese concept of Aimai, meaning "vague" or "ambiguous." In Japanese culture, this term has a poetic and positive connotation, emphasizing openness and harmony.

This principle permeates the hotel's spaces: boundaries between areas are softened, and functions blend seamlessly. The library doubles as a bar, the café transitions into a lounge, and the wine bar merges with the restaurant. Materials like cedarwood, Japanese stucco, and concrete, paired with bespoke furniture and calming indigo-dyed curtains, create an atmosphere of tranquility and balance.

The lush greenery curated by Yard Works enhances this ambiance by integrating nature into the urban setting. Plants are thoughtfully placed throughout the hotel, transforming it into a green sanctuary amidst the concrete-heavy Nihonbashi district.

“A creative micro complex where Swedish minimalism meets Japanese heritage.”

A Taste of Everyday Poetry at Hotel K5 Tokyo

A spoon gliding through soft egg yolk, a ray of light shining through a window or the tinkling of a glass in the evening: sometimes it’s not the loud sounds but the quiet moments that linger in the memory. The design hotel K5, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, is located in a historic bank building in the heart of Tokyo’s financial district. In addition to rooms, an entrance area and a pop-up space, it also houses three culinary spots that are not just about eating waffles and drinking sake, but about discovering moments that sparkle without being loud.

DANCE THE DAY AWAY

It smells of coffee. We take a seat at one of the light-coloured wooden tables on a red armchair – surrounded by greenery. How many plants are here? We take a deep breath and watch the hustle and bustle in front of the large window pane. An espresso with a view of the Tokyo Stock Exchange – what a feeling. And a portion of homemade waffles please, they are particularly good here. Incidentally, CAFE DANCE attracts not only hotel guests, but also neighbours, professionals from the financial district and young people at the weekend. As the day progresses, the light softens. Instead of hot waffles and coffee, soups and salads are served, followed by tapas and natural wine.

IN THE FLOW OF TOGETHERNESS

What actually happens when strangers come together to spend time in the same room? At best, a harmonious coexistence. Just like at MARUYAMA, an izakaya by chef Chihiro Maruyama of the same name. What is an izakaya? A small Japanese catering establishment with a sake and food menu in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s easy to feel at home here. Especially at MARUYAMA. Here, the traditional izakaya is cleverly reinterpreted. With a Scandi-Japanese interior that echoes the design language of the K5 Hotel. With a fine selection of sake and shoshu. With culinary creations made from Japanese ingredients and French flair. With a homage to the clear and pure water in Japan, a powerful symbol – a unifying element.

BETWEEN THE REAL AND THE DREAMED

And then there’s the bright red AKAI BAR, which specialises in Japanese whiskey and gin. It belongs to Akai-san, a collector who has travelled the world. Shh, he doesn’t really exist. And yet his presence is palpable. His objects have been lovingly placed in the bar. I wonder what stories they tell. Let’s find out – over a sip of the red signature cocktail with Aka-KID sake, shiso and mugwort. In the dark warmth of the night…

“Interiors that blur boundaries, where lounge flows into café, wine bar and restaurant.”

Santa Bárbara

Eco

Beach Resort

Natural coastal landscape meets modern luxury

Overlooking the grand beach of Santa Barbara, Santa Bárbara

Eco-Beach Resort, the Azores’ first ecologically-friendly eco beach resort was opened in 2015. It began with a passion for the natural black beaches along the picturesque northern coast of São Miguel in the Azores. The unique, almost magical, green pastures and mountain hues that contrast with the azure blue oceans are the ideal backdrop for a calming resort retreat. The inviting natural coastal landscape, the elegance of the modern luxury spaces and the commitment to a full-range of experien es epitomizes the passion for the art of hospitality, nature and, above all, the Azores.

The resort is dedicated to sustainability: The architecture and luxury amenities, the Farm-to-Table supply chain, environmental support and energy/water efficiency programs were constituted to reduce the ecological impact, maintain the natural beauty and environmental balance of the coastal ecosystem. The architectural design and the choice of materials were selected to blend harmoniously with natural surroundings. The minimalist architecture

was adjusted to the morphology of the land, in order to minimize its impact on the natural landscape. This was enhanced by the use of natural building materials sourced locally or nationally, such as the islands’ cryptomeria, exotic bamboos and domestic cork that built on the simple natural setting.

Construction of the Santa Bárbara resort prioritized the use of natural materials, primarily the use of local wood (cryptomeria), cork and bamboo, and infused decorative elements that callback to traditional Azorean motifs and accents. Santa Bárbara’s furniture was designed and built exclusively for the resort. Other decorations were made from repurposed materials, such as lamps which were made from oil containers of an abandoned farm, and the restaurant chairs and tables which were made from reused iron and covered with vegetable fiber, using matting crafts.

“Organic vegetables, aromatic herbs and seasonal produce thrive on site, feeding the resort’s cuisine with purity and purpose.”

Ecohotel El Agua

Hydrotherapy, a particularly gentle treatment option, is also used for regeneration. A stay at the Ecohotel will help you transform your mind and rejuvenate your body.

The resort has been designed with a very natural and unique aesthetic, and places great emphasis on sustainability, which can be felt and seen in all areas. The opening of the first villa was

ARICO
“Ecohotel El Agua is a place where Tenerife exhales — and invites you to do the same.”

Ecohotel El Agua –

A Holistic Wellness Sanctuary on Tenerife

Tucked into the quiet folds of Arico el Nuevo, a sun-warmed village in southern Tenerife, Ecohotel El Agua feels less like a hotel and more like a pause in time. This adults-only retreat sits amid olive trees and ancient volcanic terrain, where the pace of life slows naturally and the landscape becomes part of the therapy. Sustainability, thoughtful design and holistic wellbeing are not presented as concepts here; they are simply the way things are done.

El Agua’s philosophy is rooted in the idea that true regeneration happens when body, mind and spirit are addressed as one. Days unfold gently, guided by the rhythms of nature and a sense of deliberate calm. Elegant private villas—among them Villa Mimosa and Villa Olivo—offer a rare sense of seclusion, with heated infinity pools, sun-drenched terraces and views that stretch across the raw, elemental beauty of the island. Privacy is never forced; it is quietly assured.

Wellness at El Agua is immersive and deeply personal. Yoga, meditation and breathwork sessions are designed to recalibrate both body and mind, while hydrotherapy and Watsu in the infinity pool invite a state of near-weightless relaxation. Programs focused on detoxification, metabolic balance and personalized nutrition address health from within, complemented by therapies such as cryotherapy, naturopathy and tailored treatments that support long-term wellbeing. For those seeking deeper insight, epigenetic testing offers a rare opportunity to understand the body’s individual needs and adapt practices accordingly.

The hotel’s approach to food mirrors its philosophy of conscious living. Cuisine is clean, nourishing and uncompromisingly natural, with organic vegan and vegetarian dishes—many of them raw—crafted to support vitality without excess. Ingredients are treated with respect, and meals feel as restorative as any treatment on the wellness menu.

Sustainability runs quietly through every aspect of the property. Eco-friendly materials, plastic-free practices and careful water management reflect a genuine commitment to the environment, while a close connection to local culture and craftsmanship grounds the experience firmly in Tenerife’s sense of place.

At the heart of the retreat lies the spa, a serene sanctuary designed for deep release. Saltwater jacuzzis, plunge pools, saunas and hammams invite contrast and ritual, while cold therapies and a curated selection of massages, aromatherapy treatments and body rituals draw inspiration from healing traditions around the world. The result is a space that feels elemental and timeless, encouraging stillness rather than spectacle.

Ecohotel El Agua is not about escape in the conventional sense. It is about returning—to balance, to awareness, to a more mindful way of living. Here, luxury is measured in silence, space and intention, offering a rare invitation to regenerate and reflect in harmony with nature.

“A sanctuary where volcanic earth, conscious cuisine and holistic care meet in harmony.”

ARTÀ | SPAIN

Es Racó D’Artà
A destination where you can reconnect with yourself through the Mallorcan way of life

Perched on the edge of the Llevant Peninsula National Park near Artà, in northeast Mallorca, Es Racó D’Artà is a wellness haven unlike any other. Crafted by Jaime Danus, renowned constructor, and Toni Esteva, celebrated architect, the retreat is a sensory celebration: vibrant colors, tactile textures, intoxicating scents, and the soft soundtrack of Mallorcan nature, all framed by minimalist architecture and thoughtfully curated art.

Here, traditional island life blends effortlessly with modern wellness. Guests can join workshops in culinary arts, meditation, yoga, agriculture, or local handicrafts, or simply wander the surrounding landscape on foot, by bike, or horseback. Afterward, the spa, complete with whirlpool and sauna, offers a serene pause from the world.

Set within a 13th-century Mallorcan estate sprawling across nearly 200 hectares, Es Racó D’Artà embodies a vision of nature, culture, and sustainability. Vineyards, orchards, wheat fields, and beehives dot the grounds, producing wines, fruits, and honey served throughout the property. This is a place to reconnect—with oneself, with the land, and with the rhythms of life.

The 31 rooms are scattered across the estate, some nestled in the main house, others in private casitas with pools. Interiors are minimal yet warm, showcasing natural materials that mirror the surrounding landscape. And at the hotel’s restaurant, seasonal Mediterranean cuisine reflects the diversity and abundance of the estate, creating an experience as nourishing as it is restorative.

“More than a hotel: a working farm, a wellness retreat, and a living canvas of Mediterranean simplicity.”

Es Racó d’Artà – Mallorca: Turning Point in Silence

With the decision to travel to Es Racó d’Artà, transformation has already begun. Even the retreat’s website invites you to pause for a moment.

B R E A T H E – five letters that softly remind you to do exactly that. A quiet prelude to what awaits.

In the untouched northeast of Mallorca, on 220 hectares of natural land near Artà, rises a 13th-century finca – surrounded by light, olive trees and the silence of nature. A retreat inspired by the island’s soul, by architecture and by art.

A PLACE OF REFLECTION AND RENEWAL

Here, every sound becomes part of a melody: birdsong, rustling leaves, the whisper of the wind. Each step brings you closer to the present moment – and to yourself.

Perhaps you learn the art of traditional palm-leaf basket weaving, take a mindful swim in the pool, or share a meal crafted from the gifts of land and sea. And somewhere between these quiet moments, something shifts within you.

A tingling sensation. A familiar scent. A deep breath. Maybe it’s the view into the distance – that very instant when you realise you can let go. That you’ve arrived. That you’ve found the key – to yourself.

“A transformation that begins when you find the inspiration to walk your own path –a new way of living.”
“Time slows at Palacio de Figueras. Thick stone walls, soaring ceilings, quiet terraces and lush gardens invite reflection, not spectacle.”

Vestige Palacio de Figueras

A noble retreat between history and the Atlantic

Perched above the River Eo on Spain’s verdant northwestern coast, Vestige Palacio de Figueras is a 16th-century palace of rare presence and quiet grandeur. Once the ancestral home of the Pardo de Donlebún family, it has been meticulously restored over eleven years and reopened as a private heritage residence, offering guests an intimate connection to architecture, landscape, and time.

The house feels less like a hotel and more like a noble home. Thick stone walls, soaring ceilings and original fireplaces speak of centuries past, while curated furnishings and natural materials introduce a calm, contemporary elegance. Expansive windows and terraces frame gardens, estuary, and Atlantic vistas, inviting quiet contemplation.

With just eleven individually designed rooms, including two master suites, the Palacio is intentionally intimate. Light, refined materials and thoughtful layouts honor the historic architecture, creating a sense of living—rather than staying—in the house.

Dining is bespoke, private, and inspired by local, seasonal produce. The estate offers terraces, gardens, two pools, and a tranquil setting for slow exploration or exclusive gatherings.

Vestige Palacio de Figueras is not about spectacle, but substance: a discreet, cultivated retreat where history is lived, not displayed.

MENORCA | SPAIN

MENORCA | SPAIN

Vestige Son Vell

Quiet luxury on historic grounds

Vestige Son Vell is the kind of place that reveals itself slowly. Set on a historic rural estate in western Menorca, the boutique hotel feels quietly anchored to its landscape—olive groves, gardens and open countryside stretching out in every direction. There is a sense of Mediterranean clarity here: light, air and space working in gentle harmony, far removed from the island’s busier rhythms.

At its heart lies an elegantly restored 18th-century manor house, once the centre of agricultural life on the estate. Former farm buildings have been carefully reimagined, their traditional Menorcan architecture preserved and softened with natural materials and pared-back contemporary interiors. The result is a dialogue between past and present—heritage respected, comfort subtly elevated.

The 34 rooms and suites are dispersed between the main house and adjacent structures, lending the property an almost village-like intimacy. Many open onto private terraces or gardens, encouraging days to unfold outdoors. Interiors are light and restrained, designed not to impress but to calm—spaces that invite lingering mornings and unhurried afternoons.

Food at Son Vell is deeply rooted in place. Sa Clarisa offers relaxed daytime dining, while Vermell brings a more refined note in the evening. Menus follow the seasons, drawing on local producers and, whenever possible, ingredients grown within the estate itself. The cuisine is Mediterranean in spirit: honest, elegant and unforced.

Beyond the grounds, Menorca reveals itself at an unhurried pace. The historic streets of Ciutadella are just twenty minutes away, while the secluded cove of Cala Son Vell can be reached on foot—a rare luxury on an island where beaches often come with crowds.

Vestige Son Vell is defined by understatement. Luxury here is expressed through privacy, authenticity and a deep connection to nature. Time slows, distractions fall away, and what remains is a sense of quiet refinement—discreet, grounded and effortlessly serene.

“At Vestige Son Vell, Menorca feels distilled to its purest elements: light, land, and an unhurried sense of time.”
“The culinary follows the land: seasonal, local, and quietly expressive of Menorca’s character.”

Vestige Son Ermita & Binidufà

Two historic fincas, one quiet retreat in Menorca

Set within a vast private estate in the green north of Menorca, Son Ermita & Binidufà are two restored 18th-century fincas united by landscape and heritage. Son Ermita sits elevated, opening to wide views towards the sea, while Binidufà rests quietly in the valley below. Together, they form a discreet retreat far removed from the island’s busier routes.

Part of the Vestige Collection, the philosophy here is one of quiet, nature-led luxury. There is no spectacle—only authenticity, space and time. The two houses function as a single, fluid ensemble, offering contrasting moods: open and expansive at Son Ermita, intimate and grounded at Binidufà.

Original stone walls, exposed beams and historic structures have been carefully preserved and paired with restrained contemporary comfort. Interiors are warm and tactile, shaped by earth tones, handcrafted pieces and selected antiques that feel deeply rooted in Menorca.

Around 22 individually designed rooms and suites are spread across the estates, many with terraces or garden access and views over olive groves, forests or rolling coastal hills. The Grand Suite with Terrace at Son Ermita stands out for its generous proportions, natural light and far-reaching views towards the sea.

Dining reflects the estate’s dual character: Mediterranean, seafood-led cuisine at Son Ermita, and a more plant-forward, creative approach at Binidufà. Both kitchens share a commitment to seasonal, island-sourced ingredients and clarity of flavour.

Life unfolds at a gentle pace. Walks across the estate, yoga, e-bike rides or hikes along the Camí de Cavalls reveal Menorca at its most quiet and unspoilt. Son Ermita & Binidufà are not a conventional resort, but a place of retreat—where silence, landscape and heritage define the ultimate luxury.

“Birdsong, gardens and hidden coves form the backdrop—architecture simply gives the landscape a place to be felt.”

Hôtel des Horlogers

A place to connect with nature, make time for yourself and the things that matter

Inspired by the Vallée de Joux, Hôtel des Horlogers opens its doors in the village of Le Brassus, where its predecessor, Hôtel de France, settled in 1857. This hotel has been designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group and realised by the Swiss architecture office CCHE, two partners who also signed the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet situated a few steps away.

The building’s avant-garde architecture follows the Vallée de Joux’s topography thanks to zigzagging slabs gradually descending towards the meadows.

Certified Minergie-ECO®, the Boutique hotel has implemented a holistic sustainable approach from the building development to its day-to-day operations to reduce its environmental impact. Its approach encompasses local partnerships to reduce its carbon footprint, support local communities and participate in the region’s economy.

Inside, the interior design architect AUM Pierre Minassian breaks down the boundaries between architecture and nature to create harmony between the two. The interior concept is inspired by a walk through the Risoud forest. An interior passageway follows the hotel’s atypical zigzagging structure and connects the 50 rooms, varying into different categories, from the Valley Guest Room to the Signature Suite. The hotel also encompasses two restaurants, the Brasserie Le Gogant and La Table des Horlogers the gastronomic part, open to everybody. The clients can also an also enjoy a signature cocktail at the Bar des Horlogers.

The restoration take their guests on an exclusive culinary journey and impress with the use of local products and ingredients, enhanced by a selection of regional wines as well as locally brewed beers. In addition, the hotel has its own vegetable garden.

Le Spa by Alpeor offers two treatment rooms, a wellness with a hammam, a sauna, a relaxation space, one sensory shower and a fitness room.

As a meeting place for locals, mindful travellers in search of the power of nature, watch, architecture and food lovers, Hôtel des Horlogers invites you to connect with nature, make time for yourself and the things that matter.

“In the Vallée de Joux, hospitality follows the same discipline as watchmaking: measured, respectful, and deeply rooted in place.”

“In the kitchen, terroir becomes a conversation — seasonal, precise and quietly inventive.”

Hôtel des Horlogers –Where Time, Craft & Nature

Greet Hospitality

A retreat in Vallée de Joux, where watchmaking culture, alpine silence, and sustainable style converge into luxury redefined.

In a world accelerating day by day, Hôtel des Horlogers invites you to rediscover the breath in moments where time stretches, nature speaks, and craftsmanship tells its stories.

Hôtel des Horlogers is nestled in the heart of Vallée de Joux, that Swiss region famed as a cradle of haute horlogerie. Here, watches are more than devices—they are artistry, and hospitality follows a delicate tempo: measured, respectful, deeply rooted.

The architecture and interior reflect material and regional affection. Rooms and suites overlook the Risoud forest; materials are drawn from nearby sources. The design feels cozy, refined, and unapologetically authentic—a refuge that radiates warmth without ostentation.

In the kitchen, collaborations with local producers shine. Under Chef Emmanuel Renaut & Executive Chef Alessandro Cannata, regional ingredients become composed, seasonal dishes—authentic yet inventive.

For nature lovers, the Vallée de Joux unfurls behind the hotel: trails through Risoud forest, listening to silence, snowshoeing in winter, biking in summer, or just the dawn light over tree and mountain. ZERMATT

Under open skies traced by quiet wings, a stylish retreat becomes more than a destination — it becomes a return. A return to clarity, to considered spaces, to moments that unfold without urgency. Here, time is not escaped but reclaimed; distance does not divide but refines. And what begins as a meaningful timeout lingers long after departure — carried home as perspective.

Lifestylehotels™ takes you to places where you are allowed to unfold. Discover not only new places, but also discover yourself. The world we would like to take you to, is a world of allowing and mindfulness. Mindfulness is more than a buzzword at many of our member hotels. Farm-to-table concepts, the support of local artists, a particularly resource-conserving operation of the hotel, or the meditative experience of nature are just a few examples of the efforts of our hoteliers. The demand for aesthetics and quality is and remains central in our vision of a modern hotel industry, but in the sense of the new spirituality more mindful and sustainable.
