Life is Shit Festival is a DIY music festival founded in 2013 by members of the Las Vegas music community. It was started as a free punk/rock alternative to the corporate, pop-oriented Life is Beautiful Festival, but quickly became a cultural institution of its own. Despite its name, Life is Shit makes life less shitty for some, serving as a fundraiser each year for local charity Girls Rock Vegas, a summer camp which empowers girls, non-binary, queer, and trans youth through music education. The Life is Shit Festival Zine, Vol. 5 features artwork and writings from over 30 artists plus interviews from each band that performed at the 10th Annual Festival held on 9/17/22 at The Dive Bar in Las Vegas, NV.
