Inspired by the color of her hair and the season she loves, Hannah dreamed of an autumn wedding that was full of cozy details and vibrant colors! They settled on hosting their reception at a woodland venue in Niles, Michigan, and the ideas started flowing. “What truly set it apart was the stunning tented space, which served as a beautiful blank canvas and gave me the freedom to design a reception that felt completely personal and uniquely mine,” Hannah raves. The lovely tent, romantic draping and other décor items provided by AAYS Event Rentals were just what Hannah and Julian needed to bring their whimsical autumnal wedding to life! We love how they balanced the vibrant colors with simpler details to make the colors pop even more.

A VINTAGE STYLE SHOOT IN GALIEN, MICHIGAN
Atouch of vintage romance met enchanting winter elegance during this shoot at Bell Mare Weddings & Events. Created as a way to bring creativity and inspiration to the slower winter wedding season, the shoot brought together a talented group of local vendors to showcase a timeless celebration filled with classic details, seasonal charm and magical winter wedding inspiration. The only challenge the team encountered was that they had too many wonderful dress choices from Simply Yours Bridal! The couple bride’s gown featured a vintage-inspired ballgown silhouette with pearl-edged lace detailing, intricate beading, a cinched bodice and romantic all-over lace texture. The solo bride wore a strapless dress with a figureflattering bodice, accented by delicate peek-a-boo lace trim and a modern side slit for a fashion-forward touch. Hair and makeup for the shoot blended timeless elegance with modern bridal styling, with makeup by Jenn Martz Makeup Artistry and hair by Blushing Beauty & Co. The first bride wore a romantic half-up style with soft curls paired with full-glam makeup featuring a shimmering smoky eye, while the second bride opted for a sleek low bun updo complemented by soft-glam makeup with a subtle touch of shimmer.
There could not have been a more perfect venue for this shoot! “The Bell Mare is so beautiful both inside and out,” Mariah, the photographer of the shoot, shares. “The vintage, enchanting charm inside was so beautiful and matched the vision completely. Everyone loved using the vintage couches for portraits in front of the beautifully decorated fireplace.” We agree that there are so many beautifully elegant, yet rustically charming spots in this venue that make it perfect for a cozy, classic winter wedding!

Olivia and Paulina celebrated their wedding with an explosion of color, community and queer joy in Battle Creek, Michigan. Wanting to spend as much of their day outdoors as possible, the couple chose a flower farm setting that allowed guests to experience Michigan at its very best— surrounded by vibrant summer blooms. The venue also aligned with the couple’s values, from supporting local farmers and community vendors to ensuring an inclusive environment where all guests felt welcomed and respected. With a vision centered on celebrating queer love in a loud, joyful and unapologetically colorful way, Olivia and Paulina infused their personalities into every moment of the day, from bold fashion choices to vibrant décor and a celebration designed to honor not only their relationship, but the powerful community that surrounds them. They also reimagined traditional wedding moments in ways that felt authentic to them: entering together to an instrumental of “Pink Pony Club,” wearing statement lapel florals instead of carrying bouquets and sharing a private last dance rather than a public first dance. Their ceremony included a shared vow script and meaningful community vows, allowing their loved ones to promise support for the couple just as Olivia and Paulina pledged their commitment to each other.
What we especially love about Olivia and Paulina’s wedding is how thoughtfully they created a celebration that felt completely their own. When they couldn’t find décor that matched their bold vision, Olivia taught themself how to use a Cricut and handcrafted nearly everything—from brightly colored invitations covered in stickers and glitter glue to playful signage, name cards and a wedding website with a nostalgic 90s birthday party vibe. Each guest was welcomed with personalized invitations and handmade friendship bracelets displayed on the seating chart, while reception tables named after queer icons were decorated with bud vases assembled by the couple themselves.

Gina Bombin-Wilk of SRE Event Planning was inspired by the vibrant concept, “Summer Sunset,” for our spring/summer 2026 Southwest Michigan cover shoot. Her goal was to create something that felt lively and playful, while still holding onto a sense of timeless romance. “I wanted this shoot to be bright and fun, yet have an old world vibe,” Gina shares. Through a dynamic, sunset-inspired color palette and thoughtfully layered details, the design highlights how bold color can elevate a wedding without losing its classic appeal, resulting in a celebration that feels both joyful and elegantly refined!

The Loading Dock in Buchanan, Michigan set the tone for the Summer Sunset shoot with its striking industrial charm and thoughtfully layered design. The expansive space, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, allowed natural light to pour in, creating a soft, luminous atmosphere throughout the day—beautifully captured by Trysh Jaeger Photography. Rich textures and architectural details, especially the aged brick walls, added depth and visual interest at every turn. As Gina noted, “The old brick walls and large windows gave us an old world feel,” making the venue a seamless fit for a concept that blended vibrant energy with timeless romance.
The florals from Flowers by Anna embraced a romantic palette of blush, soft pinks and peach tones, echoing the fresh, vibrant energy of the overall design. Lush arrangements were layered throughout the space, with large statement pieces displayed on pedestals at the ceremony, complemented by floral boxes lining the front of the stage. The reception design continued that sense of abundance, with a grand centerpiece adorning the guest table while the head table featured whimsical, cascading florals that felt both organic and elevated.
The décor for our summery shoot embraced a bright, vivid color palette that beautifully contrasted with the venue’s industrial backdrop. Layered textures and thoughtful details brought depth to the design, from warm wood tones to delicate glass elements that echoed the shoot’s old-world influence. Gina shares, “I rented the perfect wood chairs from AAYS to give the continued look of the old-world while matching the wood tones with the natural caning on the votive holders and flower boxes by the altar area.” The pink etched goblets, also from AAYS Event Rentals, added a soft pop of color while enhancing the romantic, vintage-inspired aesthetic. Flowing drapery softened the ceremony space and diffused the natural light, while statement elements like a grand seating chart—a collaboration between Gina and Evermere Collection—offered a modern, interactive touch for guests.
The bridal looks beautifully reflected the balance of tradition and individuality woven throughout this shoot. Featuring three gowns from Belle Amour Bridal, each look offered a unique take on bridal style. The ceremony gown—a Belle Amour exclusive—made a statement with its ballgown silhouette adorned in allover peach and blush florals, complete with removable sleeves. “The main dress was chosen to provide a beautiful alternative to choosing a traditional dress,” Gina explains. For the reception, the bride changed into a second non-traditional ensemble featuring a blush tulle skirt paired with a fitted floral bodice in soft blush and lavender tones, while the third gown embraced a more classic aesthetic with an A-line silhouette, airy tulle skirt and delicate floral lace detailing. The groom complemented the palette in a tan suit with a blush tie from SuitShop. The model's hair styling by Blushing Beauty & Co featured an elevated yet relaxed updo with soft, face-framing curls, while True Beauty by Dana completed the look with romantic, peach-toned makeup—creating a finish that felt fresh, radiant and effortlessly elegant!

The cake design offered a fresh take on tradition, blending vintage charm with a modern, on-trend silhouette. Created by C'est La Vie Cakes, the blush-toned runner cake served as a unique alternative to a classic tiered confection. Its delicate vintage piping added texture and an oldworld elegance that perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic. Beyond its beautiful design, the cake was just as memorable in taste, featuring flavors of red velvet and champagne with raspberry!
The stationery and signage embraced a playful yet thoughtfully curated approach, balancing whimsy with elevated design. Created by Evermere Collection, the suite featured a blush, peach and sage green palette carried throughout every detail, from the invitation suite to day-of pieces. Velvet textures and intricate scalloped borders set the tone for a tactile, elevated experience, while charming die-cut cat motifs added a lighthearted touch that echoed the illustrated feline featured on the signature drink sign. Even the seating chart took on a non-traditional form while still feeling perfectly aligned with its vibrant color story and die-cut escort cards.
