A WUTHERING HEIGHTS-INSPIRED STYLE SHOOT IN INDIANAPOLIS

Photographer and planner Beth had long envisioned creating a shoot that felt more like a mood than a traditional wedding editorial. Inspired by the haunting romance of Wuthering Heights, she wanted to evoke the feeling of windswept landscapes, deep devotion and love that endures through life's storms. “The idea originated from wanting to create something that felt less like a traditional wedding editorial and more like stepping into a feeling—moody skies, wild movement, rich textures and love that feels powerful and enduring,” Beth gushes. With its industrial character and variety of thoughtfully designed spaces, Ivory Foundry proved to be the perfect backdrop for bringing that vision to life. The team primarily utilized the ceremony area, where the striking concrete wall helped soften the color palette while enhancing the shoot's dramatic atmosphere. Paired with the photography's darker editing style and intentional, emotive posing, the imagery captures a love that is passionate, steadfast and deeply felt. The bride and groom's simple yet timeless attire further grounded the concept, echoing the enduring romance and intensity found within the beloved Victorian classic!

Flora + Flame thoughtfully planned every detail of this shoot, while also designing the florals and stationery, resulting in a vision that felt both cohesive and effortlessly refined. We especially love how they paired warm, vibrant hues with the shoot's moody aesthetic, creating a beautiful sense of contrast and depth. From the luxurious weight of the stationery paper and elegant wax seals adorning the menus to the delicate florals and carefully selected glassware, every detail contributed to the editorial quality and cinematic feel of this unforgettable wedding scene!

The Real Wedding

of MEGAN & SCOTT CHAIN

While Megan had a general vision for her and Scott's wedding, securing the perfect venue was the first priority. Once she discovered the luxury rooftop setting, she settled on an elegant and understated celebration that would allow both the Indianapolis skyline and their love story to shine! When it came to the design, Megan knew she wanted to incorporate color but spent time deciding on the right palette. “Early on in the planning, I was debating between light pink, light blue or sage green to keep it neutral and classy. It wasn’t until I had my bridesmaids try on each of those colors of dresses before I made my actual decision, and once I did, everything else fell into place,” Megan shares. The soft green tones ultimately proved to be the perfect choice, beautifully complementing the natural elements and timeless elegance woven throughout their wedding day!

JPS Events at Regions Tower Indianapolis, IN

Two special moments from their wedding stood out to Megan and Scott. Because Scott had lost his mother to breast cancer and neither of his parents could be there to celebrate in person, one of his groomsmen surprised him with a watch engraved with a photo of him and his mom, along with the heartfelt message, “I’m proud of you – Mom.” For Megan, Scott had their flower girl deliver a handwritten note to her while she was getting ready. The note also included a necklace with his initial and the initials of their two dogs on it. Those two pieces of jewelry will be cherished forever!

A UNIQUELY ORANGE STYLE SHOOT IN COLUMBUS, INDIANA

With a desire to create something fresh and unexpected, Meghan Alyssa Photography, the photographer and planner behind this shoot, envisioned a design centered around vibrant shades of orange—and the result is nothing short of stunning! The bold color palette glows beautifully in the sunlight, while citrus-inspired accents and lush florals create a cheerful, sophisticated aesthetic perfect for a spring or summer celebration. One of our favorite details is the collection of beautiful thrifted plates, which paired effortlessly with the glassware to create a thoughtfully layered tablescape. Beyond its bright and playful palette, the team also wanted the shoot to feel elevated and editorial. The venue's breathtaking property helped bring that vision to life, offering the grandeur of a European-inspired manor right here in Indiana. Combined with refined styling and intentional design choices, the result is a wedding scene that feels both luxurious and refreshingly unique!

While the shoot was originally intended to feature a couple, the solo bride effortlessly became the star of the show! Her gown, provided by Afarose, perfectly complemented the romantic garden setting with its flowing silhouette and ethereal feel. The team's favorite detail was the delicate butterfly sleeves, which added movement, whimsy and a touch of drama to the look. Paired with the vibrant florals and sun-soaked backdrop, the gown created a beautifully elegant bridal moment that felt both timeless and full of modern fun!

The vision for our spring/summer Central Indiana cover shoot was rooted in a concept that feels both refined and deeply romantic. Designed by planner Jean Rivers of Blue Llama Events, the team set out to explore timeless glamour through a modern lens, creating a setting that balanced intimacy with grandeur. “At its core, the vision was to create an atmosphere that felt intimate yet grand—where candlelight, texture and architecture worked together to evoke emotion,” Jean explains. Drawing inspiration from an enchanting evening abroad, she adds, “In my heart, I was picturing a cinematic and deeply romantic scene, like stepping into a private, candlelit evening in Florence, but set within Indianapolis.” Referred to as “Modern Elegance,” the shoot's design embraced the essence of quiet luxury through tonal palettes, glowing details and immersive guest experiences—resulting in a celebration that feels effortlessly elevated and undeniably timeless!

The décor embraced a refined, layered approach that focused on texture, light and intentional design. Serpentine tables created a unique and immersive reception layout, encouraging a sense of flow and connection among guests. The palette remained soft and restrained—ivory, champagne, warm taupe and touches of gold—allowing the glow of abundant candlelight to take center stage and shape the overall atmosphere.

“We incorporated layered linens, linen menus, refined place settings and an abundance of candlelight in varying heights," Jean describes. "Nothing felt excessive, but every element contributed to the overall atmosphere.”

Rentals from A Classic Party Rental, including the white bar, gold chargers and linens, added subtle elegance and cohesion throughout the design.

Conrad Indianapolis served as an ideal backdrop for our romantic shoot, offering a blend of understated sophistication and architectural elegance in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Beautifully captured by JettNoir Photography, the venue's polished interiors and modern aesthetic created a refined foundation for the design, perfectly aligning with the team’s vision. To create a more intimate atmosphere within the expansive Vienna Ballroom, the team layered in candlelight, rich textiles and florals—adding warmth and depth without competing with the venue’s natural beauty. Beyond its visual appeal, The Conrad is also an exceptional choice for weddings thanks to its convenient downtown location, luxurious onsite accommodations and experienced catering team, offering couples and their guests a seamless, elevated experience from start to finish!

The couple’s looks perfectly reflected the shoot’s sense of modern elegance, blending timeless style with subtle, eye-catching details. The bride wore a showstopping, sparkling gown from Luxe Redux Bridal, chosen for its glamorous presence and how beautifully it paired with her cathedral veil. “It was perfection,” Jean raves. A delicate belt was added to bring in extra interest while tying in the floral accents of the veil. The model's beauty look, styled by The Mane Bridal, featured a soft, romantic updo with loose tendrils and luminous, natural makeup—warm neutrals, a subtle smoky eye and a soft nude lip—for an effortlessly polished finish! The groom complemented his bride's look in a classic black tux.

The cake served as a true focal point of the reception, blending artistry with understated elegance. Designed by Sprinkled with Love, the sculptural confection featured smooth ivory buttercream with delicate, hand-applied pearls that added an extra layer of sophistication. The cake table's presentation was just as impactful, with cold sparks from Niko Flores Music adding a moment of celebration and visual drama to this beautifully curated display!

The floral design embraced a soft, monochromatic palette that prioritized texture and movement. Created by Urban Contessa Florals, the arrangements featured ivory and cream tulips paired with delicate lisianthus and touches of greenery, allowing each bloom to feel intentional and refined. As Jean explains, “The intention was to create depth through layering rather than color contrast,” resulting in florals that enhanced the warm, romantic glow of the candlelight. The ceremony design stood out with its circular layout, where organic florals formed an arc around the couple, creating an intimate and immersive focal point. A classic, all-white bouquet complemented the bridal look, while additional details—like florals appearing to “grow” out of the bar setup—added a modern, artful touch that tied the entire design together!

The stationery echoed the shoot’s refined aesthetic through a thoughtful focus on texture, tone and understated elegance, drawing inspiration from classic European design that is both timeless and minimal. Designed with soft, tactile papers, subtle metallic accents and delicate typography, each piece felt intentional and beautifully restrained!
