HAMLET
YOU’RE
INVITED! JOIN US TO EXPERIENCE THE
GREATEST ARTISTS IN THE WORLD Sharing an exceptional performing arts experience with family and friends is truly one of life’s great joys. There are few times when we are more connected to those around us than when we’re seated together in a theater, witnessing something thrilling or inspirational or entertaining. For an hour or two, we escape the real world and travel to a place of laughter, romance, beauty, excitement, culture and so many things that fill our souls.
It’s going to be a thrilling year in family entertainment, kicked off by Disney’s Frozen! This Broadway spectacle takes over the Lied Center for two weeks in August, bringing the beloved smash-hit film to the stage. Speaking of Disney classics, we’ll also welcome the live-to-film concert of Moana, featuring the full movie accompanied by a live Polynesian band. Illusionist REZA returns to the Lied after thrilling a sold-out crowd in 2023! He’s one of the many artists whose dreams took shape right here at the Lied, and he takes great joy in creating magical experiences for the next generation of audiences. Youth graphic novel favorite Dog Man also makes his debut appearance at the Lied Center this season! Your Create Your Own Season package gets you seats to the most popular shows in the season, including Glenn Korff Broadway series programs such as Hadestown, The Music Man, A Christmas Story, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, and SUFFS, the new hit musical making its Nebraska premiere. Winner of the 2024 Tony® Awards for Best Score and Best Book of a Musical, this moving show tells the story of the brave, passionate, funny, inspirational women who fought to win the right for women to vote in the United States.
Every season at the Lied is unique, combining encore performances from legendary artists with breathtaking talent that has never before graced the Lied Center stage. This season we are thrilled to welcome back many of our favorite artists of all time! Yo-Yo Ma, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Boston Pops, and Canadian Brass all return to the Lied Center as many of our community’s favorite artists of all time.
I could go on and on about this season (Johnny Carson’s 100th Birthday Celebration! Cirque Kalabante! Stars of American Ballet, The Soweto Gospel Choir! The 2025 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist!), but I’ll leave you the joy of uncovering all the treasures for yourself. You hold in your hands my invitation to experience countless date nights, outings with the family, or the best of times with friends featuring the world’s best music, theater and dance artists. As a season ticket holder, you enjoy the best seats at the best prices! I hope you will join us for 5, 10 or 20+ shows, as there is something for everyone. Take the time now to plan and schedule your favorite moments of the year with us. Life is short. Eat the cake. Buy the tickets. Enjoy these once-in-alifetime moments that we can treasure together forever.
It’s a big year for orchestral music as we welcome the Philadelphia Orchestra back to Lincoln! Recognized as one of the “Big Five” American orchestras, this nationally treasured ensemble is celebrating 125 years of musical excellence as one of the top orchestras in the world. It’s been over 25 years since this orchestra has filled the Lied Center with music. Plus, America’s orchestra returns! The beloved Boston Pops orchestra, celebrating the music of John Williams under the baton of Keith Lockhart, will deliver another celebrated performance.

PRODUCTION OF
AUG 15 - 24, 2025 For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm! Based on the Academy Award®-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage. In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home - with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf. Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love. The Lied Center’s continued partnership with the Nebraska Repertory Theatre makes it possible to license this production of Disney’s Frozen through Music Theatre International. This production at the Lied Center features top professional talent from across the country. Produced in association with: Pittsburgh CLO, Kansas City Starlight Theatre, University of Nebraska: Nebraska Repertory Theatre & Lied Center for Performing Arts.

MARCH 12-22, 2026 JOHNNY CARSON THEATER Six women step into the roles of the former Nazis who sent us to the moon to share with us a story about the team that formed the backbone of NASA in the most unlikely of places...North Alabama. Told through the point of view of Heinz- Hermann Koelle, a lesser-known young German rocketeer, who joined this “Operation Paperclip” team several years later, the play explores the dynamic relationship of Wernher von Braun and Koelle as these two have set their sights on space exploration and colonization beyond the moon. Still, as the play counts down to the launch of Apollo 11, Koelle is befriended by a Jewish engineer who is hell-bent on exposing the truth: the Germans’ technology is based on the V-2 rockets built by slave labor more tied to Koelle’s world than he can imagine. A startling new play about the intersection of scientific exploration and moral responsibility, The Rocket Men asks what it means “to be an American”.

Money. Corruption. Murder. Welcome to Capital City. In this searing original play inspired by Nebraska author Mari Sandoz’ infamous novel Capital City, the Great Depression has split the people of a fictional Midwestern city in two: the rich and the poor. What lengths will the have-nots go to gain back their land, homes, and dignity? How far will the haves go to make sure they control it all? Performed in Animal Engine Theatre Company’s signature physical style, actors create a richly detailed portrait of shanty towns, high society balls, striking workers, backroom schemes, and more with just their bodies and song. An original commission from the Lied Center of Nebraska, Animal Engine returns to the Lied after performing their popular Willa Cather-inspired epic Henrietta Solway in 2023.
