VISION
DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE CURRICUL A We research and evaluate local and international trends in music education and performance. We develop curricula that meet specific needs in the marketplace and build upon undergraduate-level disciplines. We create benchmarks for the advanced training of professionals.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION We provide performance opportunities in modern worship settings, small chamber settings, and large orchestra and choral settings. We offer hands-on experience through conducting and other leadership roles in the School of Music’s undergraduate programs. We encourage involvement in the local church and music community as a way to share Christ through music.

Incorporating a foundational core of music, worship, and research with skill development and ministry training, the M.A. in Music & Worship program prepares you for a successful career in worship ministry.
Applying a practical foundation of music, music education, and research to the educational environment, the M.A. in Music Education program equips the next generation of music educators to teach effectively in both primary and secondary schools, as well as at the collegiate level.

IN THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC, WE HIGHLIGHT THREE SPECIFIC AREAS AS PART OF YOUR TRAINING: ► Dynamic public presentations on campus and in the surrounding community ► Strategic connections with local churches and schools ► Apprenticeships with School of Music ensemble directors and music producers in the classroom and in large-scale productions Not only will you be a participant in School of Music events, but you will also be a leader — conducting, shaping, and instructing our undergraduate students. Graduate students may also apply to serve as Graduate Student Assistants (GSAs) within the School of Music.
