May Feature

April flew by with lots of activity. Tax season came to an end, Zumba Gold Classes got underway, guest speakers kept us engaged, and Earth Day led to fun art projects and functional BINGO prizes. May is upon us and it is an exciting time to be a member as we heat up for another FAB (fifty-five and above) Summer! This month we are excited to celebrate our 2nd annual Mother’s Day High tea on Monday May 15th with a social fit for a queen! Join us for high tea luncheon and live music by Jazzberry Jam. This is a BYOTC (Bring Your Own Teacup) event so dust off one of your favorites and bring it with you! BIG thank you to Kiwanis who is volunteering to support this event. New this year, you can also purchase a ticket for a guest! California Telephone Access Program is visiting in May to offer informative, hands on, 2-hour smartphone training sessions for both iPhone and Android! Members can sign up for a free walking field trip to NUMU for a guided tour of the ArtNow exhibit which showcases inspiring Art from local talented students. Last but certainly not least, we have been working hard behind the scenes to launch our online resource webpage “The HUB”. On May 11th we will have over 30 local service providers present for a Senior Resource Fair. Be there for the start time of 10am to enjoy refreshments, listen to introductions from each group, and be entered to win raffle prizes! We hope you will join us to learn more about and get connected to available resources in our community! Please invite a friend as the resource fair is open to the public.
