We entered July with fireworks and ended with just as big of a bang! We have much to celebrate and while Thanksgiving is months away, we are certainly sharing in the spirit of thanks this summer. Our amazing community showed up in a big way to celebrate at our Annual Senior Summer Picnic. We enjoyed gorgeous weather, fabulous music by Fossil Farms, delicious food from Los Gatos Meats, and spent time in the company of one another. We of course couldn’t have done this without the help of our amazing Volunteers, Los Gatos Lions, and Boys Team Charity. We are thrilled to share news of unprecedented state funding for the 55 Plus Program, secured through the advocacy and support of State Assemblymember Gail Pellerin. See page 4 for more information and our thanks to current supporters. The fun continues this month as we try our hand at using the Glowforge Laser Cutter in the Library to make cut and engraved bookmarks. We will be offering a new one-day Chair Yoga Demo Class on August 23rd and we will be continuing Drop-In Badminton and Learn to Crochet. Lisanne Kennedy, Recreation Coordinator for Senior Services, is currently on leave. We are happy to share that Stephanie Lynn will be stepping in as Assistant Coordinator. Stephanie has worked with LGS Recreation for 13 years and has been an important part of the 55 Plus Program team for the last year. She is excited to help support programs and you!
