National Merit Semifinalists

Independent Studies Independent studies provide students opportunities to work with LFA faculty to pursue more advanced level course work, seek additional in-depth subject matter, or explore a subject not offered. Recent independent studies courses include Filmmaking, Artificial Intelligence, Vector Analysis, Game Theory, Kinesiology, Applied Data Analytics and Acting, Analysis and Directing on Shakespeare.

• Math Team – Second place at the 2025 ICTM Regionals Competition • Model UN – LFA is one of only three schools to have participated in all 37 years of Model UN of the University of Chicago (MUNUC)

• Robotics – Competes annually in the First Robotics Competition • Science Olympiad – Places annually at the Illinois State Tournament • Spectator Newspaper – 2024 recipient of Best of Student News Organization (SNO) Award
