n After March 2020, students were remote but still received standard grades as long as they completed their coursework to their instructor’s satisfaction. For the last three years, LFA has held in-person instruction. n Due to the small class size of each graduating class, Lake Forest Academy does not rank its students. n LFA uses letter grades from A - F on an unweighted 4.0 scale. Grades A - D may have pluses and minuses. n Admission to advanced level and AP courses is decided by the appropriate department based on a student’s ability and success in previous coursework. n After exhausting current course offerings, upperclassmen may elect to pursue independent studies. Some of our favorites this year are: Biofuels from Plants, Horseshoe Theory, and The History of Dai Folk Dance. One semester of Independent Study equals a 1/4 credit. n Psychology is considered a science elective.
LFA’S NATIONAL MERIT RECIPIENTS n Five seniors were selected as National Merit Semi-Finalists from the Class of 2024.
