June 29 - July 2: Circuit Makers
101 & Robot Commanders 101
Description Circuit Makers 101: In this junior electronics class, students will gain experience with creating their own electronics; designing custom light-up greeting cards, electric games, mazes, and even musical instruments. Each class day consists of a circuitry lesson and a hands-on electronics project, using components like lights, buzzers, switches, motors, and sensors. Circuit Lab staff will make sure participants create a project that they can be proud of each day and most days to take home.
Robot Commanders 101: Understanding how software can interact with robots is a key skill for the STEM jobs of tomorrow. There will be several active, playful activities, where students learn about what it means to write, debug, and execute computer programs that communicate with different robotic devices. Using the power of code, students will turn Sphero SPRK+ robots into Magic 8 Balls, automated Red Light / Green Light games, and the arcade classic Pong — and Unruly Splats will become our voting machines, relay races, guessing games, and more.
July 6-10:
Hands-On Electronics & App Inventors
Hands-On Electronics: In a world powered by smart technology and AI, the most innovative engineers understand how software and hardware work together. This course gives young makers that critical edge. We start by exploring the magic of electronics with simple circuits, then begin making customized programmable devices with Arduino. We will gain practice working with LEDs, speakers, a variety of sensors, and several kid-friendly programming interfaces. Each class day is a chance to design, build, and code a new hands-on project while developing a valuable skill set.
App Inventors: Want to know how the apps work on your phone or iPad? Or do you already have the next great app idea, and just need to know how to make it? In this no-experience-required course, we use MIT App Inventor software to make fun, creative apps for Android phones and tablets. We will also explore wireless communication by building custom Bluetooth hardware controllers and readouts for our apps. Participants will learn both the programming and design aspects of creating great apps, and have the opportunity to build apps of their own with the support of Circuit Lab instructors.

August 3-7: Interactive Coding for Kids
Interactive Coding for Kids: In this hands-on class, students explore Scratch programming, using the MIT-developed programming interface to craft stories and games. Then we will use Makey Makey boards to invent new ways to interact with the Scratch projects using everyday objects. Our circuitry projects will become musical instruments, video game controllers, pressure sensors, and more. Students will learn valuable 21st-century skills while engaging in these fun, creative lessons. Collaborative project challenges enhance teamwork skills and inspire critical thinking. No prior coding experience required.
Electronics power our world more every day, and people who can manipulate them will design our future. By learning to engage with electronics as tools and exploring them as a flexible, creative medium, we introduce our students to the skills they need to interact fully with the modern world. And we make lots of fun projects along the way.
Circuit Lab classes blend technical concepts with hands-on experimentation in a creative environment. We use a variety of up-to-date technologies in each of our different curricula. Each day of class includes both an introduction to new concepts and a guided hands-on activity with open-ended project "challenges" for students to try.
Circuit Lab programs are a fun and creative way to give kids fluency and confidence in increasingly necessary skills. We are excited to start your kids on the path to designing and creating whatever they imagine!

Summer STEAM Clinics

Kids Test Kitchen - Summer Clinic | $350 Resident • $360 Non-Resident
Each class presents students with an opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, we’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until we’ve prepared the finished dish. During this in-person session we’ll celebrate ingredients that will offer ideas for quick and healthy dishes for the family to enjoy together. At the end of class your aspiring chef will receive the main ingredient, or a sample of the finished dish, and the recipe. Each session arrives with fresh new recipes and ideas to inspire your healthy eater! Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. We know allergies
Please fill out the Kids Test Kitchen Prep Form after registering.

Summer STEAM Clinics
Snapology - STEM & Robotics Summer Clinics | $515 Resident • $525 Non-Resident
Children are meant to learn through play. When children are actively engaged in hands-on, interactive learning activities, their creativity flourishes and they show a greater interest in school. We help your child grow up with a thirst for knowledge. Snapology will be offering summer clinics for the following weeks this summer:
July 20-24: Mining & Building and Mega Machines Robotics
Mining & Building:
Class will spend their mornings building Minecraft®-inspired worlds using LEGO® bricks and their afternoons designing and programming powerful machines and vehicles through hands-on robotics challenges. Inspired by the world of Minecraft®, campers will bring the game off the screen and into the real world as they design imaginative environments filled with structures, animals, mobs, and their very own LEGO® Minecraft® characters. Creative building challenges encourage exploration, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Mega Machines Robotics:
Class will explore robotics fundamentals by building and programming impressive machines and vehicles. Using motors, gears, sensors, and Scratch-based coding, students bring their creations to life while working collaboratively to complete engineering challenges. In this clinic, students will build various robotic machines such as: Excavator, Drag Race Car, Space Rover, Helicopter, and much more!

July 27-31: Pokemania & GameBots Robotics
Pokémania:
Class will explore the exciting world of Pokémon® as they design training gyms, create battle scenes, and invent their own Pokémon® characters. Along the way, students will connect real-world science concepts to Pokémon® habitats, characteristics, and needs through hands-on building and imaginative play. They will do more than catch 'em all, they will build and examine them all very closely and have a blast doing so!
GameBots Robotics: In the afternoon, campers will explore robotics fundamentals through exciting, game-based challenges. Working with a partner, students will build and program robots that play games with—and against—their classmates using motors, sensors, and Scratchbased coding.
- Kpop, Anime, and Gaming | $435 Resident • $445 Non-Resident
Kpop & Anime: Explore anime by drawing a portrait of Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters and a Derpy portrait. We’ll also work on other anime drawing techniques like Egg Gudetame (Lazy Egg Yolk), Totoro, and more!

Game On: The screens are off, but gamers can still GAME ON in our art class tribute to all things gaming. We’ll create art inspired by some of our favorite video games including Mario Cart, Minecraft, Sonic the Hedgehog and more!
