Please limit expansion to the minimum 2,700 acres! The results of On The Table were clear: the public is not in favor of expansion. Please protect horse farms from development to help ensure Lexington remains the Horse Capital of the World (as stated 9/8/2023 14:39:10 several time in the Goals and Objectives of the Comp Plan).

Please do not expand the USB in areas that endanger our bluegrass farms. We are the horse capital of the world, and areas 2&3 specifically are existing or adjacent to existing horse farms that lead into Lexington from our airport. Please do not destroy 9/8/2023 15:41:58 that first perspective of our beautiful city!

Area B (labeled 3 on some maps), is the most logical expansion area. It is inside Man O War and has close proximity to New Circle road. This is important to consider because when our city’s public transit systems improve the new expansion are will already be located along major roadways. Areas other than B/3 could easily strain new public transit plans or exponentiate the cost. There may be hesitations to select only Area B/3. Consider the value of expanding to only this small area. Compared to other areas of the proposal, expanding only in this small area may prevent a large increase in the cost of city services, which would be passed on to Lexington residents. If we expand to only area B/3 and it is zoned for denser housing like townhouse communities and apartments, it could house the same number of residents as a much larger areas zoned only for single family homes. On a similar note, many of Lexington’s residents are aging and looking for nice communities that provide housing options without large yards to care for. Providing denser housing in area B/3 gives Lexington residents options, and some would move out of larger single family homes around the city which would free up single family homes for other Lexington families. In summary, please consider only expanding in area B/3 and zoning it for dense housing. This would provide the additional 9/8/2023 20:01:01 needed units while minimizing costs increases for Lexington residents.

Do I want Kexington to become the next Los Angeles with its elimination of single family homes to multi-unit crowded zones? No. Terrible plan and makes me wonder whose pockets the planning commission are in. I’ve met CDE from California and now your progressive voices are trying to bring it here? Terrible. Next thing you guys will do is smart surveillance cities and 15 9/11/2023 6:23:15 minute human chicken coops. I see where you’re going since I fled california and now you’re trying to copy california.

No. We are not interested in making Lexington the next Los Angeles and you’re following to a tee a Los Angeles sustainability (UN) plan. I came from there and can recognize what you’re trying to implement here. It’s awful and will radically change Lexington into a Los Angeles clone-horrible plan. Is the planning committee in the pockets of mega developers or perhaps 9/11/2023 6:30:20 progressive activists?

I feel the expansion is unneeded at this time. More attention to the current boundaries and infrastructure is urgently needed, roads, water mains, electrical needs, personal and traffic safety. Stop light cameras are urgently needed at all major intersections where red lights are run multiple times during the day and night. With no police presence anywhere this would be the only solution to curb this problem. LFUCG needs to step up and take care of existing boundary areas before expanding in 9/11/2023 8:17:37 to new areas that will also not be properly taken care of.
