The festival’s founders left us in the space of a few years: Lucien Clergue in 2014, Michel Tournier in 2016 and Jean-Maurice Rouquette in early 2019. We’ve designed an exciting program to celebrate their pioneering spirit and the jubilee of an adventure that has lost none of its vitality in 50 years. While telling that story and paying tribute to the work of those who have kept the festival’s soul alive for half a century, we also wanted to look ahead to tomorrow. This is a way of pursuing our mission of revealing trends and discovering the new generation with the same high standards. The festival’s 50 shows approach the anniversary with a bit of emphasis, much pleasure and above all a great desire to share with you the overflowing energy that drives photography.
