WELCOME TO LEOPARDSTOWN RACECOURSE
Everyone at Leopardstown is looking forward to the upcoming 2020-2021 National Hunt Season at Leopardstown which despite the current challenges presented by Covid19 will feature some of the best jumps racing in the UK and Ireland. We have produced this booklet to provide you with information on key National Hunt racing at Leopardstown. Leopardstown Racecourse has a proud tradition of hosting national hunt racing since 1888. Over the season this includes over €3 million in prize money, fifteen Grade 1 races, two iconic festivals - The Leopardstown Christmas Festival (26th-29th December 2020) and Dublin Racing Festival (February 6th-7th 2021). Recent years have seen approximately €25 million invested in our facilities and we are nearly finished our current redevelopment which include a new weighroom building which also encompasses new and spacious male and female jockey changing rooms, medical facilities, trainers lounge & winning connections suite. The Leopardstown Christmas Festival which takes place on 26th-29th December has over €1 million in prize money over the four days including seven Grade 1 races. Dublin Racing Festival returns for its fourth year and will take place over the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of February 2021 and it offers over €1.8 million in prize money with 8 Grade 1 races, with a minimum race prize money of €100,000. Whilst we usually look forward welcoming all owners and connections to The Leopardstown Lounge, our dedicated Owners and Trainers area, this will be guided by government guidelines on Covid 19, however, we will endeavour to make the experience as memorable as possible despite this. Leopardstown Track
The track is a left-handed oval of one mile and six furlongs with a run in of 2 ž furlongs and an uphill finish. There are seven hurdles and ten chase fences on the circuit
Racing Surface
Throughout the year the highest level of attention is given to the racing surface to provide the best surface possible at all times. We have invested in a new top of the range watering system to help maintain the track during the season.
Stables, Equine Care and Accommodation
Horses travelling from overseas or from a long distance away have use of our secure overnight stables. While your horse is here the best equine care is available, from farriers to vets, to ensure the highest welfare standards are met. We are very proud of our equine care facilities and are happy to do anything we can to improve your horse's stay. Travelling Grooms
For grooms traveling from overseas to Leopardstown, we will arrange complimentary accommodation for all travelling stable staff, we will also arrange a car or provide transfers to and from the hotel when required. The cost of all the accommodation and transfers are covered by the racecourse.
Stable Staff
All stable staff attending Leopardstown have the use of the Stable Staff canteen located in the racecourse stables and run by Coles Catering. The stable staff canteen is open every race day 3 hours before the first race time and provides a range of hot and cold meals along with sandwiches, cakes and snacks. There is also a full selection of hot and cold drinks.

TRAVELLING INFORMATION FOR NON-IRISH BASED HORSES DURING COVID-19
Due to the current pandemic there are additional guidelines, restrictions and quarantines in place, the severity of these depend on the status of the Covid-19 in Ireland and the relevant government advice. For further information on travel within the Republic of Ireland please visit www. gov.ie and follow the links to the specific page regarding travel. The team at Leopardstown would still be delighted to welcome overseas runners and have worked in conjunction with the IHRB and Horse Racing Ireland, to implement procedures to provide as much information as possible regarding travel and logistics during your visit to Ireland and to assist as much as possible. If guidelines advise isolation upon arrival, we can help with this, from placing your horse with an Irish based trainer who can look after it and bring to the races to accommodating the box or lorry driver during isolation. Any person who is restricted by movements will NOT be allowed to enter racecourse property which includes the stableyard.

HOW LEOPARDSTOWN CAN HELP?
Leopardstown Racecourse are pleased to provide complimentary accommodation for anyone who is subject to restricted movements when travelling with a horse. It is Leopardstown’s understanding that the Horsebox Driver when booking their travel arrangements can be defined under the same heading as a 'Freight Driver’ which will allow the driver ease of access to and from the designated stableyard, and associated accommodation. Your horse will need to be stabled away from the racecourse complex in alternative stabling. Currently some Irish based trainers are offering this service. Should you wish to avail of this service then Leopardstown Racecourse can provide details of these trainers and assist with this process. A nominated representative will also have to be declared for any runners you have at Leopardstown. All expenses incurred whilst in the Republic of Ireland including Irish trainers’ boarding costs and travel between the nominated yard and the racecourse will be covered by Leopardstown. Leopardstown have a created an International travel form which we ask any overseas trainers to complete to ensure we have all information of travel details and requirements to make your travel as seamless as possible. This form can be obtained by contacting the Leopardstown Office.
