Welcome to Leeds Grand Theatre – a place where remarkable stories unfold and communities connect. As we look ahead, we’re delighted to share a season filled with exceptional performances and unforgettable moments. Among the highlights are our two resident companies: Northern Ballet, presenting the world premiere of Gentleman Jack in March 2026 – a powerful celebration of Yorkshire’s own Anne Lister – and Opera North, returning in January with an outstanding season featuring Britten’s Peter Grimes. We are also thrilled to welcome the Royal Shakespeare Company back to Leeds for the first time in over a decade, with their celebrated production of The Constant Wife. Alongside these, audiences can look forward to an array of musicals, comedy and concerts – a programme with something for everyone.

Fri 30 January – Fri 20 February 2026 It’s supposed to be the happiest day of Figaro and Susanna’s lives. But with Count Almaviva looking set to make a move on the bride-to-be, the young couple must hatch a shrewd plan to secure their happy ending. Cue a whirlwind of secret scheming and surprise revelations. This new production reimagines the mischief in a quintessential modern country home. With Mozart’s music performed live by the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North, it all adds up to an invitation that’s too good to turn down. New to opera? Fri 13 – Sat 21 February 2026 The sea is raging. So are they. The death of a young boy at sea threatens to tear apart a close-knit coastal community. Suspicions circle menacingly around fisherman Peter Grimes. Though legally cleared of guilt, he becomes increasingly volatile and vulnerable as the hostility towards him gains momentum. When tragedy strikes again, the truth won’t be the only thing lost at sea. Phyllida Lloyd’s award-winning production, a stellar cast and the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North bring Britten’s most famous opera to life, promising an emotionally devastating, profoundly memorable experience.
