here are so many good stories that start with Once Upon a Time. This year, we invite the community to create their own fantastical story at the Santa Barbara County Fair. The celebration runs July 12-16 at the Santa Maria Fairpark with the theme “Once Upon a Fair.” New attractions this year take excitement to new heights. Watch the Perfection on Wheels BMX and skateboard stunt show riders soar as they expertly perform complicated tricks. Are you afraid of creepy, crawly insects? Test your mettle with the Bug Ology interactive exhibit. And if you dare, you can chomp on some food-grade insects while learning about alternative protein sources. Tasty!

The stunt duo of Something Ridiculous will stroll the grounds once again keeping audiences in awe with their ridiculously accurate juggling skills. Dance the night away with the high-energy funk and soul sounds of Burning James and the Funky Flames, some Latin and blues with Ricky Montijo and the Mojitos, and local favorites Steppin’ Out. Wednesday, July 12 kicks off the Santa Barbara County Fair with $1 carnival rides from opening to closing, sold in the carnival only. That day also kicks off our Bud Light Concert Series with a performance by Country rock band .38 Special on the KCOY Main Stage. The excitement continues Thursday, July 13 with Senior Day, and seniors (62 and over) pay just $1 admission.

That evening’s concert will feature a performance by the incredibly funny comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias. Friday, July 14, will present an evening concert with everybody’s favorite cowboy, John Michael Montgomery. Military and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day takes place on Saturday, July 15 with a concert by the outstanding vocalist Leann Rimes. Wrapping things up on Sunday, July 16 is Fiesta Day with a Hispanic concert in the Budweiser Minetti Arena. All KCOY Main Stage entertainment begins at 7:30 pm. and is free with paid Fair admission. The Fiesta Day entertainment is a separate ticketed event. General admission during the
