Student Discount at Janda Diner Founded by Le Cordon Bleu alumnus Ady Yacob, who completed the Grand Diplôme in 2022, Janda Diner started as a pop-up before moving into a tiny room at the White Horse in Peckham Rye. In 2025 they moved to a permanent home at 191 Rye Lane, bringing Malaysian flavours to South London in a fun, celebratory way. Janda Diner focuses on Modern Malaysian cuisine, combining authentic Malaysian flavours with French techniques. Ady is offering a 20% discount at Janda Diner to all Le Cordon Bleu students and alumni. To redeem this offer, guests can book via OpenTable and notify the restaurant that they are affiliated with the school. Graduation 1 8 TH S E P T E M B E R | 1 : 3 0 P M - 4 : 3 0 P M THE HURLINGHAM CLUB Our graduating students are invited to celebrate their achievement at a ceremony held in the luxury surroundings of The Hurlingham Club in West London. The ceremony will feature special guest speakers. After receiving their diplomas, graduates and their guests will be able to relax and enjoy a food and drink reception with the chefs and their fellow alumni.

Coming up THIS MONTH

Student Assistants needed We are looking for pastry or Grand Diplôme students to assist during the final of Le Cordon Bleu Scholarship 2026. The event will take place on 21st September from 8:30pm – 5pm at the school. We will require 3-4 assistants to help in the kitchen during the practical and to be on hand to assist the Chefs and Le Cordon Bleu team as they run the competition. Kimchi Cook Off 2 3 RD S E P T E M B E R | L E C O R D O N B L E U We’re pleased to announce the launch of this year’s Kimchi Cook Off competition in partnership with Association Mes Amis (AMA) and global kimchi brand, Jongga. Entering the competition is easy, entrants simply create their recipe, take a picture of the dish and the Kimchi that has been used to create your recipe, then submit the entry between September 12th and September 13th, 2026. Ten finalists will compete on 23rd September 2026 in the kitchens of Le Cordon Bleu London.

Mastering Macarons 1 6 TH S E P T E M B E R Our Pâtisserie Chefs will teach you how to produce the four main types of macaron, leading you through the crucial stages of the French macaron making process including French and Italian meringue production, macaronage colour application, filling varieties and piping decorations.

Italian Cuisine: Lombardia 2 1 ST S E P T E M B E R Explore Italian cuisine in this 6-hour class focussed on classic dishes from the Lombardia region of Italy, including Minestrone di Verdure, Ossobuco with Gremolada, Risotto alla Milanese and Sbrisolona Mantovana.

Last Month’s HIGHLIGHTS

Superior Pâtisserie Afternoon Tea On 1st August, as part of the Superior certificate of the Diplôme de Pâtisserie, students hosted a formal 5 course Afternoon Tea party event at CORD. This event provided Superior students the opportunity to gain insight into working in the industry, applying what they have learned on the programme in a professional setting.

Careers Fair On 3rd August, we hosted our Careers Fair. Students had the opportunity to meet with the recruiters of renowned companies such as Rosewood Chancery, Torridon Hotel, Lanesborough Hotel, Connaught Hotel, Humble Crumble, Aspen Experience, Harts Group and Wolseley Group.

Student Social Event On 7th August, students were invited to an evening of food and wine tastings, demonstrations and discussions with food and beverage producers, suppliers and our chefs and lecturers. This was a great opportunity for students to network with peers, discover new and interesting products and enjoy some delicious food and drinks.

FROM OUR LIBRARY Our library is situated on the first floor next to room 101 and offers a fantastic array of books. It is open from Monday to Saturday 7:10am – 9:30pm (5:30pm on Saturday) for self-study, and open Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm (closing for 1 hour during lunch) for borrowing services. You can also email london-library@cordonbleu.edu with your book requests and pick them up from the front desk during library opening hours. If you’ve read a book that you think would be helpful to your fellow students, please send a short review to: london-library@cordonbleu.edu for the chance to be published in the next Le Petit Journal issue.
