Lebanon Valley College offers 13 men’s and 14 women’s varsity athletic programs and varsity co-ed Esports.
Our teams compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III level and the National Asociation of Collegiate Esports (NACE).
The success of our brand identity ultimately hinges on how well we execute the details of our visual language— the logos, colors, photography, typography, and graphic elements. The LVC Flying Dutchmen Athletics Style Guide is an important resource for maintaining consistency in everyday design decisions so that all of us communicate the LVC Flying Dutchmen story in a unified, more powerful way.

Color values are assigned based on where they are used in different mediums. Tints and shades may be used at the discretion of the Director of Athletic Communications and the Office of Marketing & Communications.
PRINT
Pantone Matching System (PMS) values should be used only when a spot color is needed. This information is useful for some printers (especially merchandise).
CMYK values are almost always used in print work, from media guides to posters. If you’re working on a project in a program like Adobe Illustrator, you’re likely going to be dealing with CMYK.
DIGITAL
RGB and HEX values should be used when reproducing colors in digital environments, such as social media, web, and video.
TYPOGRAPHY
SECTION 2
PRIMARY FONT
Raleway is an extensive and versatile font family that can flex from elegant and understated in the thinnest weights to friendly and outgoing when used in the bolder weights. It works well for both headlines and body copy.
Download from Google Fonts for free or sync from Adobe Fonts.
ACCENT FONTS
Plaak 2 is perfect for infographics, subheads, and callouts. It’s strong and energetic and packs a surprising punch when used sparingly in publications. Do not use Plaak 2 for body copy.
Plaak is available to license from 205.tf. A license for up to five users is approx. $200. Other licensing options are available.
TEKO is a free alternative available from Google Fonts.

LOGOS AND MARKS
LOGOS AND MARKS
LOGO HIERARCHY
The Lebanon Valley College and LVC Flying Dutchmen wordmarks are the most important marks for LVC. They should always be present when designing materials that represent LVC Athletics, even if you’re using other approved logos.
These marks are outward-facing communication of who the Flying Dutchmen are. Proper usage of these marks is necessary in achieving brand consistency and recognition.
As you prioritize when and where our marks are used, consider the tier system with the first tier being the most important,

TIER ONE: PRIMARY ATHLETICS WORDMARKS
These wordmarks are the most preferred versions of the LVC Flying Dutchmen brand. They should be used wherever possible. The unit-specific versions are considered the most preferred identifier for each team.
In instances where the full-color mark cannot be used, a one-color version is also available.
RESPECT A 25% MARGIN OF THE TOTAL HEIGHT FOR ALL ATHLETICS WORDMARK APPLICATIONS.

SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM PROFILE IMAGES
Beyond our website and the large flagship social media channels, department, team, and club social channels are the first impression to online interactions with the LVC Athletics brand. As such, many audiences’ first experience is seeing the profile image next to a piece of content or a post. For this fact, we have created the complete set of social profiles for athletics teams. LVC Flying Dutchmen Athletics social media profiles should use the appropriate graphics to maintain brand consistency across all channels.
The purpose of these style requirements is to allow future students and new supporters to easily identify the sports that LVC is responsible for.

Athletics and Team social media accounts must build posts in Canva or Gipper using the brand colors and fonts outlined in this style guide.
