Dear Readers, It is now 1.10 a.m. Thursday evening and my computer is wishing me good morning! I don’t need reminding and I still need to design the front cover. Then I’m going upstairs to give last minute instructions to Boruch Yechiel as to what needs to go in and then he is going to get to work! But from all the feedback I get, it seems well worth the effort! Thanks once again for all contributions! Next week is our 10th edition, people so we’d love a bumper issue if possible (the weather is meant to improve in the UK next week so not much incentive to stay indoors). More and more kids are going back to school so that makes contributions limited too. Have a good read and a good Shabbos, Aunty Cha It’s 3.32 am and I’m still working on it

Dear Editor, In reference to the homophone competition, we had Family Prijs very busy. One fun homophone was 'clause' and 'claws', until Leah Prijs enlightened us, "Mummy, there's another claws. Like please 'close' the door!" Anyone still not sure where we live??!! Family Prijs:)
Dear Editor, We are so grateful for keeping us in touch with all our family. I know it's only been a few weeks, but we feel we really know the American Epsteins a bit now! We even know they have a Tatty and a Mommy, a Shimmy, a Malky and a baby Rochel! And that they're doing really fun stuff at home:) We would love to see more pictures of the Israeli Epsteins, we used to know you but we need pictures to keep us up to date. THE BOCHUR WAS CALLED YITZCHOK. YITZCHAK WAS BORN IN A SMALL VILLAGE SOMEWHERE IN LITHUANIA AND HAD COME TO POLAND TO LEARN. YITZCHAK HAD FINE MIDDOS AND WAS VERY KIND AND THOUGHTFUL BUT HE WAS VERY POOR AND HOPED TO FIND A GOOD SHIDDUCH AND B”H HE GOT HIS DREAM SHIDDUCH. THE ENTIRE TOWN GOT READY FOR THIS CHASSUNA AND ALL THE SHOPS GAVE OFFERS PRESENTS FOR THE CHASUNA AND SCHOOL WAS CLOSED SO EVERYONE COULD PREPARE FOR THE CHASUNA. FINALLY ON THE DAY OF THE CHASUNA PEOPLE CAME FROM THE NEXT TOWN TO HELP BUILD THE FANCIEST CHUPPAH AND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHASUNA AND FOR THE SHEVA BERACHOS IT WAS LIKE A 7-DAY YOM TOV AND EVERYONE JOINED IN. A FEW WEEKS LATER YITZCHAK SPOKE TO MIRIAM AND ASKED HER “I DON’T KNOW IF YOU WANT TO BUT I REALLY WANT TO HAVE A HOUSE TELL ME IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BUT I WANT TO HAVE A HOUSE FULL OF ORCHIM (GUEST) I KNOW IT MAY BE HARD I KNOW YOU MAY NOT WANT TO BUT PLEASE I MEAN IF IT IS TO HARD TELL ME” “NO NO DON’T SAY ANY MORE WHEN YOU GO TO SHUL THIS FRIDAY BY MINCHA INVITE ANY POOR OR LONELY PERSON TO US I WILL COOK UP A STORM FOR SHABBOS” RESPONDED MIRIAM. “THANK YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU” SAID YITZCHOK. BUT ONE DAY YITZCHOK WENT TO A FAR TOWN AND HE HAD A CRASH WITH A DRUNKARD AND WAS NIFTAR.

Thank You Hashem The Lewises told me about their neighbour who made a competition about thanking Hashem. Oma just wanted to share with everyone how she thanks Hashem every day. Thank you Hashem that all our families are well. Thank you Hashem I could get up by myself, could get dressed by myself, could go downstairs easily to daven, and say to Hashem besides all the brochos in shacharis. Thank you Hashem I can smell, I can touch, I can hear, and I can enjoy my food of which you give me plenty. I thank Hashem for my beautiful house and garden, but before that I have to thank Hashem for all my wonderful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and thank you Hashem for the le’covid you that keeps me in touch with everyone all over the world from America to Israel to Manchester and Gateshead and even London. I would also like to thank Hashem that I was able to celebrate Pesach on my own but in good health, with company from Rabbi krohn through his fabulous hagaddah. Thanks to family weisfish I also had fantastic reading for the rest of yom tov. Thanks to Hashem for the beautiful weather we had over yom tov, so lots of people came to visit me at my front door, so I wasn’t so alone. This is just a little list of everything we have to be grateful for every minute of the day. Lots of love to the whole family
Stovetop Pizza BY: SHMULLY WEISFISH
Method time: 5 minutes Pan time: 15 minutes Total time: 20 minutes Comment: Use non-stick frying pan! Comes out squeaky clean!
Ingredients: ½ cup self-rising flour ½ cup plain flour 2/3 cup warm water Pinch of salt 1 teaspoon honey 1 teaspoon dry yeast Pizza sauce Your favorite toppings Cheese
Method: I. put in flour, water, salt, honey and yeast in a pan II. mix III. put on the sauce, cheese and favourite toppings IV. cover with silver foil and let cook on low heat for 5 mins V. open silver foil a bit VI. let cook for 10 min VII. take out VIII. cut IX. enjoy
CHILDRENS BAKING CORNER BY: SHMULLY WEISFISH
No Snow Marble Preparation time: 10 minutes Oven time: 30 -40 minutes Total time: 40 - 50 minutes Comment: This is a quick marble cake for yummy rushes. It looks like a big recipe from the ingredients but fills 2 loaf tins. Ingredients:
6 eggs 2 cups sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 cup oil 2 cups flour cocoa
Method: I. mix all the ingredients beside the cocoa. II. Pour into 2 loaf tins. but leave a bit of batter out III. mix the cocoa into the left over batter and pour the chocolate batter into the loaf tins and marbelize. Oven: bake at 350oF for 50-55 minutes or until ready.
HALF BACK AT MECHINOH Before I start I want to let you know that my rebbe I am telling you about in this story is 69 בלי עין הרע. On Sunday we asked our rebbe if we can come to his back garden to learn as it was good weather and the topic had already been spoken about before and my rebbe said that if it’s good weather tomorrow we can come to his back garden to learn. We were excited! The day before we started the rebbe gave a whole שיעור השקפהand said that there is no covid 19 left in the air and that social distancing got changed to 2 mm instead of 2m. Everyone was wondering what the social distancing is really going to look like. The next day and the first day {Monday} we got there, the tables set out like a ches()ח...and there was nothing to look out for - everyone saw that there was no distancing...but everyone realised...it was actually squashy - three boys on a table made for two. That day {Monday} it was nice weather and the rebbe gave out ice lollies. On day two {Tuesday} the rebbe sent his grandson [who is in my class] to the shop to buy ice lollies but the shop didn’t have any so we didn’t have any that day. My rebbe lives in a very cut off and quiet area and we enjoy playing there for break. In the middle of break it started pouring with rain. The boys that weren’t playing quickly took all tables and chairs into the rebbe’s shed and the boys playing carried on and didn’t know what was going on with the boys that weren’t playing. I was one of the boys playing so I don’t know who arranged what. But when we were told break was over we were also told to take a chair from the shed and take it to the rebbe’s dining room. I thought I took a wrong step and instead of walking into his house I walked in a museum but I was wrong; it was his house. The furniture made me think I was in 1825. We all sat round his antique, old wooden table and chairs. There were the oldest ספריםand bookcases I have ever seen. On the walls there was some old pictures and portraits of; , ר'ליב גורביץ, חפץ חיים,סטייפלער,ך’’ ש רב,ר' עקיבא איגר חזון אישand my rebbe’s father זצ''לandלהבדיל בין חיים לחיים ; ר' דוד הלוי סאלאווייטציק שליט''א.
