Celebration of Florida Agriculture
Morgan New (top left) is the first FGCU Agribusiness student to participate in the prestigious Lutgert Mentorship Program, with her mentor, Ryan Duffy of U.S. Sugar (bottom, center). As a guest of Mr. Duffy, Morgan and Agribusiness student Walter Homeister attended the 2023 Celebration of Florida Agriculture on September 8 in Clewiston, Florida. Both students networked with representatives of Florida agribusinesses and listened to special guest speaker, U.S. Senator Rick Scott. The two were joined by FGCU President Emeritus Mike Martin and former House Speaker pro tempore Lindsay Harrington. Thank you to Mr. Duffy for providing this opportunity to two of our outstanding students!
Agribusiness Students Attend FFVA Convention
AGRIBUSINESS STUDENTS REPRESENT THE PROGRAM AND NETWORK WITH SOME OF THE INDUSTRIES LEADING AGRIBUSINESSES! Four Agribusiness students attended the 2023 Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association Convention to listen to issues forums including an update on the Farm Bill and a session on dissecting retail and shifting consumer trends. Thank you to the FFVA for allowing our students to participate in this exciting event and network with various leaders in the fruit and vegetable space.
