The Alumni Association will be having its first Governing Council (GC) meeting of the year on March 14, bringing together key members of the alumni leadership and the institution.

The meeting is attended by each class's president; vice presidents representing each class, the Dean; the alumni director, and members of the alumni office The session provided an opportunity for alumni to engage in meaningful discussions on strengthening alumni engagement and advancing

the goals of the alumni community for the year. The gathering will also reinforce the importance of collaboration between alumni leadership and the institution in driving initiatives that continue to support and grow the alumni network

The Wakathon, a community walking event aimed at promoting preventive health, mental well-being, and social connection, will take place on March 28, 2026. Rooted in the idea of movement as medicine, the event encourages people of all ages and fitness levels especially seniors and underserved groups to come together and walk at their own pace in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. The Wakathon seeks to promote healthier lifestyles while strengthening community connections.

Agweh at the Helm

SanlamAllianz General Insurance appoints Jacqueline Agweh as MD/CEO to drive growth and innovation in the Nigerian insurance sector.

SanlamAllianz has announced the appointment of Jacqueline Agweh as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of its General Business division, effective February 11, 2026.

Jacqueline brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, with expertise spanning insurance broking, technical operations, claims management, reinsurance, and underwriting. She holds a degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos, is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), and an alumnus of Lagos Business School

Her appointment reflects the organization’s confidence in her leadership as she takes on the responsibility of leading the General Business division.

Executive Director

Ayomide Akindolie-Igwe has been announced as the Incoming Executive Director of FATE Foundation, marking a significant leadership transition for the organization. Her appointment reflects the foundation’s continued commitment to strengthening entrepreneurship development and supporting small businesses across Nigeria

Ayomide brings years of experience in program development, enterprise support, and strategic leadership. Throughout her career, she has played a key role in advancing initiatives that empower entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and networks needed to start, grow, and scale their businesses. In her new role, she is expected to lead the foundation’s vision of expanding opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs while strengthening the impact of its training, research, and support programs

Dr. Owen Omogiafo, President and Group CEO of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group), has led the company to a historic financial performance in its Full Year 2025 results, demonstrating strong leadership and strategic execution. Under her leadership, Transcorp Group recorded revenue of ₦544 billion, representing a 33% year-onyear increase, while Profit After Tax surged by 44% to ₦135.9 billion. The Group also achieved a significant milestone as total assets crossed ₦1 trillion for the first time, reflecting sustained growth across its power, hospitality, and energy businesses. The company’s power subsidiaries delivered strong contributions through increased generation capacity, while its hospitality arm, including the iconic Transcorp Hilton Abuja, continued to experience strong demand across its services.

Leadership and Impact on International Women’s Day 2026

To mark International Women's Day 2026, the Pan-Atlantic University Alumni Association in collaboration with the Lagos Business School Alumni Association hosted a webinar themed “Give to Gain – Leading with Purpose, Growing with Impact.”

Speakers including Nkiru Ukachukwu, Ogogo Joy Osula, Nancy Olisakwe, Anu Odubanjo, and Kanyinsola OluwasolaOseni shared insights on mentorship, leadership, and the importance of supporting women’s growth

This International Women’s Day, Lagos Business School hosted an inspiring session under the theme “Raising Women, Raising Communities: The Gives the Gain Mandate ” The discussion highlighted the transformative power of empowering women not just for individual success, but for the broader impact on families, workplaces, and communities. Attendees left energized with actionable insights on fostering inclusion, leadership, and social impact, reinforcing the message that when women rise, communities thrive.

The event on Entrepreneurial Opportunities in a Green Economy, organized by the Alumni, brought together participants to explore emerging business prospects within the growing green and sustainable economy. The session highlighted how entrepreneurs can leverage environmentally friendly innovations and sustainable practices to create businesses that drive economic

growth while addressing environmental challenges It also provided valuable insights and discussions on the role of entrepreneurship in promoting sustainability and long-term development.

One of our esteemed Lagos Business School alumni recently organized an insightful session on Financial Intelligence: Managing and Growing Personal Wealth The program focused on practical strategies for taking control of personal finances, making informed investment decisions, and building sustainable wealth. Attendees gained actionable insights, highlighting how smart financial management can drive long-term growth and security
