The Product Manager is the knowledge expert within Arconas on not only our present product line, but also our future and past. You will report to and have the support of our Executive Vice President when you need it, but you will be expected to bring your own experiences and knowledge to solve problems. Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information. Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes. Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products. Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives. Advises on the additions, enhancements and removals of product from the Arconas offering and understanding product profitability and the effect on the bottom line. Educates partner departments on market position of product lines, features and benefits. Obtains product market share by working with sales team to develop product sales strategies. Assesses product market data by calling on specifiers, clients with field salespeople. Prepare and carefully manage short-term and long-term product matrix, introductions and developments. Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing. Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.

Recommends product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Works closely with external Industrial Designers and internal R&D, Sales, and Operations for product development, launch, and customizations. Supports product and sales training, coaching and learning tools to internal and external audiences. Supports updating content of product training programs and presentations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education, Background, Experience: • • • • • • • • • •

Degree in the fields of Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field. Relevant experience in the Furniture industry, Architectural products, or similar. Ability to travel 6-8 times a year to attend trade shows, meetings with designers, clients, and suppliers. Ability to work within multiple levels across many functional areas. Experienced in managing and developing product cycles. Self starter with the ability to deliver results and work independently. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Strong project management, organization, and communications skills. Strong knowledge of materials and furniture manufacturing processes. 5-10 years of relevant work experience.

The Details: This is a full-time, permanent position working from our Mississauga head office.
