Flyaway is designed as a single row unit while also available as a back-to-back unit. Back-to-back Flyaway Cluster is designed based on the Flyaway series. Each Cluster consists of a steel triangular base to which 3 pairs of back-to-back seats are fixed. All castings are available in bright or satin Aluminum finish. The beam structure is in environmentally sensitive electro-statically applied powder coating.

FEATURES CENTRAL BASE The central base consists of 3 identical steel plates bolted together with 1/2” (12.5mm) bolts and nuts. Each base is made of 3/16” (4.8mm) thick steel plates for strength and stability. The base is supported by 6 adjustable glides to allow accurate floor leveling. The base has front cutouts to accept the supporting beams.

SUPPORTING BEAM The supporting beam of each seat is made of 3 1/2” (89mm) diameter steel tubing of 10-gauge (3.5mm). A square 6 1/2” (165mm) metal plate 1/4” (6.4mm) thick is welded to the beam to allow them to be fixed to the central base with 1/2” carriage bolts and nuts.

LEGS Aluminum legs are cast to the specifications listed below, shaped to fit around the beam and fixed with 5/16” (8mm) bolts. All legs have adjustable glides to allow floor leveling and adequate floor contact.

SEAT SIDES The seat sides are of solid Aluminum, cast to the specification listed below with robust internal reinforcement to withstand the requirements of ANSI - BIFMA standards. The seat supports are positioned on the beam by a 3/8” (9.5mm) shouldered steel pin cast into the support and then tightened from the rear onto the beam with a molded Aluminum clamp using 5/16 (32mm) bolts. Seat sides are available with arms or without, as they are integral part of the casting.

SEAT AND BACK CUSHIONS Seat and back panels are of 16-gauge (1.6mm) steel, formed to provide the best structural support and then molded into high resiliency urethane foam as per the following specifications. The foam thickness ranges from 2 1/2” (63mm) to 3 1/4” (82mm) for the seat and 1 1/2” (38mm) to 3” (76mm) for the back, depending on the contour.

On the seat an additional 7/16” (11mm) diameter steel bar is welded along the side and into the front to provide additional strength. The seat assembly is mounted in place using 1/4-20 bolts. The outer seat back pan is of 16 gauge (1.6mm) steel and is powder coated. This outer back pan is fixed to the main support with 1/4-20 bolts. The urethane foam is reactively formed with an environmentally friendly water technology with an I.L.D. rating of 27/34 lbs and a density of 3.5 lbs/cu.ft. UPHOLSTERY Upholstery is die-cut to shape and sewn using a double French stitch for strength. A closure of automotive Velcro provides the assembly means on the non-visible side. Slipcovers are removable for easy re-upholstery on site by qualified maintenance personnel.

TOP The base has a triangular top made of 1” (25.5mm) thick plastic laminated particleboard with a PVC bull-nose edge for durability and easy maintenance. The top is fixed to the base with 1/4-20 bolts.

ASSEMBLY Units are shipped knocked-down (KD) for easy assembly in the field and accompanied by extensive installation instructions.

FINISH Aluminum components are available in bright or satin finish; all other metal parts are in “Cloud Silver” epoxy powder coating. Tabletop is available in plastic laminate finish.
