Design Aerodynamic lines, suggesting energy and movement, define designer Davide Tonizzo’s Bernù public seating series. Named in honour of Daniel Bernoulli, the 18th century Swiss scientist whose theoretical work on fluid dynamics pointed the way to airplane flight. The Bernù series features ergonomically contoured lines, accentuating user comfort and support. A sturdy aluminum beam using an innovative peg assembly system, allows for quick installation and easy maintenance.
High Performance Die-cast satin finished aluminum supports ensure durability in the Bernù public seating collection. Supporting beams are made from robust aluminum extrusion and is age hardened for maximum strength. Adjustable aluminum glides allow for precision leveling and anti-slide glides are available for hard floors. Upholstery slipcovers are seamless in high wear areas for maximum service life and can easily be replaced if damaged.
Environmentally Friendly Creating environmentally friendly seating is a tradition at Arconas. Our foam contains no harmful CFCs and emits no harmful fumes. Our manufacturing process creates minimal waste. All foam and metal components are recyclable. Our seating products can help customers achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits for commercial interiors.

Installation and Configuration Simple and rapid assembly is possible because of Bernù’s unique peg system for installing seats on the support beam. This innovation also makes possible four seat and five seat curved units, in addition to two to five seat linear units of Bernù. Unique curved beam units can be connected to create dynamic curvilinear seating layouts, as well as conventional linear and back-toback configurations.
Safety and Security Bernù’s clean look, including streamlined seating, construction, and an open under seat design – creating clear sight lines – makes it an ideal system in security-sensitive environments. For safety considerations, units can be floor fastened upon request. Bernù passes ANSI/BIFMA standards to ensure it will stand the test of time.
Easy Maintenance Bernù’s seating system’s smooth surfaces and open space between seats and seat backs minimize debris collection. Upholstered seat and back covers are easily replaced on-site. Floor cleaning is easy since Bernù has minimal contact points with the floor. Bernù’s modular design and minimum number of parts ensures trouble-free maintenance over the unit’s lifetime.
