Showbox Sires

® was introduced to the market by passionate Holstein breeders Mike and Julie Duckett and Tim and Sharyn Abbott in 2023. As a team, they have exhibited seven grand champion Holsteins at World Dairy Expo and bred and developed cattle that have claimed worldwide success. Today, the two couples operate many ventures. The Ducketts manage the daily operations at Duckett Holsteins, home of the Showbox females, bull mothers and globally recognized cows. They also own Genetic Futures, a large recipient operation. The Abbotts own Borderview Genetics, which focuses on high-type cattle and the Dairy Sales Alliance, a company that manages several top-end female sales each year. The concept of Showbox Sires is simple: leverage modern tools to create sires that breed the elegantly styled cows that breeders admire while capturing elements of production and health. Sire stacks, cow family performance, genomic data, scores, production records and show winnings are all considered when selecting sires for our high-end offering. Marketing sires that include household cow names in their pedigree and combine phenotype with genotype is our goal. We value strength versus stature and strive to breed better cattle by focusing on creating cows that have it all: show ring and barn appeal, solid production, positive reproduction, udder health and longevity.

Our offering has grown in size and diversity over the past year. The lineup is being used in all corners of the world and customers are raving about the calves created with our early sires. DAX-RED comes from one of Doc 8784’s best daughters, Duckett Ranger 1133-ET (VG-89-EX-MS). 1133 is a beautiful young cow that offers a unique spin on the Have Not line as a Red Carrier. We mated her to the popular sire Heatwave-Red to create the first Red & White member of this impressive family line! DAX-RED will complement many of the current Red & White bloodlines and offers index, type and production. We are using him in the Showbox Sires program as a mating sire.

The making of VENMO began when Kingsway Farms purchased his grandam, Ladyrose Caught Your Eye-ET (EX-95-EX-MS) at the Duckett Holsteins Summer Selections Sale in 2021. Caught Your Eye had already established herself as an elite bull mother creating two sons, including 7HO16104 EYE CANDY. The group flushed her to Alligator to create Kingsway Caught A Vibe (VG-87-VG-MS). She was quickly identified as a future brood cow for the Kingsway herd and the group’s top heifer for the 2022 and 2023 show seasons. In 2023, Caught A Vibe claimed junior champion honors at World Dairy Expo. She was then flushed to DeltaLambda to create VENMO, along with multiple full sisters who have followed her winning traditions, claiming third, seventh and eighth place finishes in the winter calf class at the 2024 Royal Winter Agricultural Fair, proving her impressive transmitting abilities.

VENMO was carefully crafted by the master breeders of Kingsway Farms and Velthuis Farms. His fantastic pedigree is paved by a long-standing maternal line of cows that have achieved success on international shavings. His dam, Kingsway Caught A Vibe, was junior champion at the International Holstein Show, 2023, and recently achieved a max score of Very Good (87) as a two-year-old. His grandam is the three-time All-American, Ladyrose Caught Your Eye-ET (EX-95-EX-MS). JINX’s dam, Peace&Plenty Doc Jubie16-ET (EX-95-2E-EX-MS), is one of the most popular cows in the Showbox Sires show string and is transmitting very well. She will be in our pack at the 2025 fall shows, along with her exciting Sidekick sister, Peace&Plenty Sik Jubie36-ET (EX-94-EX-MS). JINX has milk, type, pedigree and more. He should sire winning calves that develop into great cows!

The world has discovered the “Jubie” family from Peace & Plenty and the excitement is building. In 2023 and 2024, a half dozen family members from the Jubie lineage were nominated All-American.

We have always admired the Regancrest Durham Barbie (EX-92-EX-MS-GMD-DOM) maternal line and are excited to launch this family in our program through COBRA! He is one of the breed’s highest conformation sires in Canada and offers an impressive linear profile. His Sidekick dam, Willswikk Sdk Chardonnay (EX-94-EX-MS), has been a staple of the Duckett show string. Show attendees stop by to admire her fantastic udder and stunning frame. Chardonnay completes nine generations of Excellent cows.

HENDRIX is the result of using high-Type sire 7HO13839 TATOO on S-S-I Doc Have Not 8784-ET (EX-96-EX-MS-DOM). TATOO’s style pairs well with Doc 8784’s power and both sides of the pedigree deliver on udder quality. HENDRIX has two full sisters that will be high-scoring cows down the road.

Breeder’s are raving about their HERITAGE-P-RC calves. We intended for him to be an outcross option for Red bloodlines and create show ring type, and he is doing just that. His high milk yield and flawless linear pattern make him a great cross for many of today’s Red cow families. We believe this sire can change the Red & White show business.

“Doc 8784” became a household name when she sold for a record-breaking $1.925M in 2022. As an exemplary brood cow, her sons continue her legacy. Sired by bulls that complement and build upon Doc’s strong genetic base, these sons will help you create cattle that succeed in the show ring and in the barn.

We have long admired Kings-Ransom Casp Daze-ET (EX-95-2E-EX-MS). She is one of the greatest uddered cows we have seen in recent years and recently scored Excellent (95). Proving her transmitting ability, daughters of her son Dropbox are calving in with great udders and display stylish frames. We wanted to cross Daze’s genetics on Doc 8784 because the two cows complement each other perfectly. How many sires can you list that have Excellent (96) and (95) dams as their two closest dams? One of our dream matings for Doc 8784 was Sidekick. We thought if we could pair his high type with her outstanding production we’d have a world class sire. Well, we did it! IMAGE is a unique son of Sidekick as he offers great production traits but still has the great type pattern you would expect from using him on an Excellent (96) cow. We named him IMAGE because he is the perfect reflection of his iconic sire and his globally recognized dam. He is being used on some of the world’s best cows.

Red & White breeders have persistently asked us to create a sire from the two-time world champion, Oakfield Solom Footloose-ET (EX-97-2E-EX-MS). Well, he’s here! FANWELL-RC is a high-type 250HO16498 HULU-RC son from the queen of the Showbox program. He should combine the extreme style of HULU daughters with the incredible power of Footloose and the udder potential is fantastic. The cherry on top will be making them Red!

We jumped at the chance to add a sire from the master breeders at Comestar to our program and we are thrilled to offer this early Bullseye son. LACTEUR’s pedigree is filled with influential Canadian cows and traces back to the impressive matriarch Comestar Laurie Sheik (VG-88-EX-MS). His third dam, Comestar Lamadona Doorman (EX-94-2E-EX-MS), was the Canadian Cow of the Year in 2022. Once you add Unix and 250HO14605 TROPIC to the pedigree, you’ve created the ultimate wish list sire. His dam, Comestar Latasha Tropic (EX-93-EX-MS), is a dairyman’s dream and has classification points ahead of her.

When paired with the national show winner, Vogue Mirand Hanalei-P (EX-93-EX-MS), a stylish homozygous Polled sire was created. We’re excited to offer HAZARD-PP as a unique A2A2 option for the breed.

She continues to create high-value embryos today. We are thrilled to o !er a son from this iconic tenth generation Excellent cow.
