Stock Rams
Vendor’s warranty - The vendor warrants that any ram sold as a stock ram for the amount in paragraph (j) of the Appendix or more is capable of and effective at natural service. This warranty is a 10 week warranty. Purchaser’s rights - If the purchaser proves a breach of warranty then the purchaser may return the ram to the vendor who shall, at the purchaser’s option, either replace the ram with another ram of equal value which is capable of and effective at natural service, or refund the purchase price together with such costs and charges as the purchaser may be entitled to under these Conditions. Notice of a claim must be supported by a veterinary surgeon’s certificate confirming that: the ram’s incapacity or ineffectiveness is not the result of injury, accident or illness happening after the time of the sale: and the purchaser’s breeding stock are not responsible for the ram’s incapacity or ineffectiveness. Female Sheep Proving Barren
Vendor’s warranty – The vendor warrants that any female sheep sold as being in lamb is in lamb at the time of sale. This warranty is a 21 day warranty. Purchaser’s rights - If the purchaser proves a breach of warranty he may exercise his rights under Condition 66. Notice of a claim must be supported by a veterinary surgeon’s certificate.
EXPORT NOTICE
As of 1st January 2021, Lawrie & Symington Limited are not able to offer direct export for sheep due to new exporting rules. If you are a buyer from Northern Ireland, Eire, or the European Union then sheep cannot be moved direct from a sale. It is the responsibility of of the Vendor and/or Purchaser to make the necessary arrangements. Please consult the vendor to check if they are willing to assist with this and what cost will be involved. Texel Performance Indexes are designed to help commercial producers and pedigree breeders identify animals with the greatest potential to improve flock profitability. Higher Value = Higher Potential Animals are ranked to make selection simple; high index Texel rams (Top 5% and above) add over £650 to their commercial progeny compared to those ranked as average. Which Index? Prime lamb producers should use the terminal index as this is weighted for meat production. Pedigree breeders and producers retaining female replacements should use the replacement index as this balances maternal and carcass traits.
Sub-indexes for growth, muscle and fat weight and reproduction allow breeders and commercial producers to identify animals that offer advantages in areas to suit their production goals. E.g. targeting a ram that ranks highly for fat weight for mating to lean females, to produce lambs that finish well. CONDITIONS CLUB INFORMATION OF SALE

All sheep to be Maedi Visna accredited flocks and must be accompanied by the relevant documentation All female sheep MUST BE FULLY REGISTERED and all maleBEARERS sheep to be fully registered or birth notified and thereby eligible for OFFICE full registration with the Texel Sheep Society. Adult sheep entered at Shows and Sales under the auspices of the Texel Sheep Society must be bare clipped after 1st April each Vice-Chairman: Iain Struthers – Craigend flock (07886881299) year. 4. Animals born prior to January 1st 2011 can be identified with a tag plus a tattoo for Society purposes. Hand written tags will not be acceptable for animals born after December 31st 2010. The decision of the inspector shall be final and failure to accept the inspector’s decision will result in the entire consignment being rejected. 9. The categories of sheep offered for sale will be defined on the entry form. 10. If any animal offered for sale has had semen or embryos collected from it the number of embryos/amounts of semen in storage must be declared at point of sale. 11. The purchaser shall have no right to claim damages from the vendor in respect of indirect or consequential loss such as (but not limited to) loss of profit or any other loss whatsoever. 12. Two substitutes, per consignor permitted. Enter directly via iTexel by Tuesday 16th September at 12noon. (List available online/sale day). Substitute animals must be marked with a red dot in the loin. 13. The Texel Sheep Society reserves the right to blood sample any sheep and/or take wool samples for forensic testing. 14. Prize winners at the show prior to sale, which subsequently leave the ring unsold, forfeit all trophies and prize money awarded. 15. Once inspected, an animal must remain in the sale yard until offered for sale. 16. All sheep sold in guineas. All sheep sold at sales organised by the Society recognised Clubs will be subject to the Society levy amounting to 0.5% of the gross sale price; in addition, a levy of 0.5% will be collected by the Club and the Auctioneers Commission. 17. All vendors must abide by the Club conditions of entry and conditions of sale, on the entry form. 18. There will be a minimum bid price of 300gns. 19. Committee reserve right to limit numbers if oversubscribed. 20. Entry Fee £12.00 per head inclusive of VAT (£10.00 per head + VAT). £5.00 will be returned on all animals sold. 21. Scrapie Genotyping is no longer mandatory. If the Scrapie Genotyping is declared in the sale catalogue or at point of sale and subsequently found to be incorrect, for whatever reason, the purchaser shall have the right to return the animal and to claim the full purchase price from the vendor. 22.
