The election is Tuesday, Aug. 6; here are some important dates The deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 6 primary is Tuesday, July 16, and advance voting begins the next day, Wednesday, July 17. July 30 is the last day to apply for an advance voting mail ballot. In-person advance voting ends at noon on Monday, Aug. 5, and polling places will be open on the day of the election, Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All mail ballots must be postmarked by election day
