In February 2020, Hong Kong closed down its main cross-border ports with Shenzhen. In Feburary 2021, my friend and I hiked to the thinnest part of the border line to meet with our friend from the other side - with our physical bodies against four layers of fencing wires.
This tiny zine at the size of a palm, tells the story of the meet-up across the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Composed of an essay as well as photos taken during the hike, this zine attests a very special point in history, as well as a reconciliation of my personal identity as both a Hongkonger and as mainland Chinese.
