LAUREN CLINGMAN

INTERIOR DESIGN

about me

My name is Lauren Clingman, and I’m a fourth-year Interior Design student at Texas Tech University. I chose this career path because I believe every space has the potential to be more than just functional. a space can be thoughtfully renewed, emotionally engaging, and deeply impactful. My background in visual art and early involvement in design projects helped me cultivate a strong foundation in creative problem-solving, spatial awareness, and an eye for detail. These experiences continue to shape my design approach and inspire my work.

I’m committed to mastering the principles of interior design through a combination of academic excellence, hands-on studio work, and active engagement within the design community. As the Special Events Coordinator for the ASID student chapter, I’ve had the opportunity to lead the planning of the annual West Texas Design Expo—an event that fosters collaboration between students and industry professionals. This role has deepened my understanding of the professional design world and strengthened my organizational and leadership skills. I’m excited to continue growing as a designer and contributing meaningfully to the future of the built environment.

JONHARTHEADQUARTERSREDESIGN

LOCATION:

220BURLESONSTREET,SANANTONIO,TX78202

YEAR: FALL2024

OVERVIEW:

THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO DESIGN AN INVITING HEADQUARTERS SPACE FOR THE OFFICE STAFF, ENHANCING BOTH AESTHETIC APPEAL AND FUNCTIONALITY IN A WAY THAT REFLECTS THE TIMELESS QUALITY AND ENDURING CRAFTSMANSHIP OF THE JON HART BRAND. THIS INVOLVED A THOUGHTFUL APPROACH TO SPACE PLANNING, ENSURING THE LAYOUT ENCOURAGED COLLABORATION, PRODUCTIVITY, AND COMFORT. BY INCORPORATING CLEAN, MODERN DESIGN ELEMENTS ALONGSIDE CLASSIC TOUCHES THAT ECHO JON HART’S COMMITMENT TO HERITAGE AND QUALITY, THE UPDATED SPACE AIMS TO FOSTER A POSITIVE, ENGAGING WORKPLACE THAT SUPPORTS BOTH STAFF WELLBEING AND THE BRAND’S LONG-STANDING MISSION: TO DELIVER HANDCRAFTED EXCELLENCEWITHAUTHENTICITY,DURABILITY,ANDSTYLE.

CONCEPT:

THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO HARMONIOUSLY BLEND THE VIBRANT COLORS AND RAW LEATHER USED IN THE COMPANY’S PRODUCTS WITH A MODERN, SOUTHERN AESTHETIC. GIVEN THAT THE HEADQUARTERS WAS SITUATED IN DOWNTOWN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, THE LOCAL CONTEXT SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCED THE DESIGN APPROACH. THE INTEGRATION OF TRADITIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY ELEMENTS WAS A CENTRAL THEME, PROMINENTLY SHOWCASED THROUGHOUTTHESPACE.
