FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear Lauralton Hall Community, As our nation marks 250 years of history and Lauralton Hall commences its 120th year, I find myself reflecting on what allows great institutions to endure. They endure because people believe deeply in their purpose and choose to invest in their future. For 120 years, Lauralton Hall has provided a place where young women grow in confidence, faith, and purpose. At a time when our world needs confident, compassionate women who lead with mercy and purpose, the mission of Lauralton Hall has never felt more important. It is a privilege to witness that transformation every day—and it is only possible because of the generosity of this remarkable community. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we present this year's Report of Giving. Within these pages are the individuals, families, alumnae, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends whose generosity strengthens every aspect of life at Lauralton Hall. Your support makes the Lauralton experience possible for hundreds of young women each year and empowers them to lead lives of faith, mercy, service, and purpose. This year, you will notice several new giving societies and recognition levels. As philanthropy at Lauralton continues to grow, we wanted our recognition to better reflect the generosity and leadership of our community. While we are grateful to see an increase in transformational gifts, one truth remains unchanged: every gift matters. Together, they create opportunities that would not otherwise be possible. One addition that is especially meaningful is the recognition of our young alumnae donors. More recent graduates are choosing to give back than ever before. Their participation is a wonderful reminder that philanthropy is measured not only by the size of a gift, but by a belief in the mission and a desire to ensure that future Lauralton women have the same life-changing experience. We also celebrate remarkable growth in endowment giving this year, including named scholarships established in honor of wives, daughters, and loved ones. I ♥ LH Day: A New Tradition of Mercy and Generosity Last September, Lauralton Hall celebrated the inaugural I ♥ LH Day, our first-ever giving day, and the response from our community was nothing short of extraordinary. In just 24 hours, alumnae, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, students, and friends came together to raise more than $130,000, demonstrating the incredible power of collective generosity. Held on Mercy Day, I ♥ LH Day honors the legacy of Catherine McAuley, Foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. Celebrated each year on September 24, Mercy Day commemorates the opening of the first House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland, in 1827— a place dedicated to education, compassion, and service to those in need. It is a day that reminds us of our shared commitment to living the Mercy values that continue to define a Lauralton education. By pairing our giving day with Mercy Day, we celebrate not only philanthropy, but also the spirit of generosity, compassion, and community that has shaped Lauralton Hall for generations. Every gift made on I ♥ LH Day helps empower young women to learn, lead, serve, and thrive while ensuring that future students have access to the same transformative Mercy education.

A Love Story That Will Live On TIM & TOOTS' LEGACY OF LOVE AT LAURALTON HALL Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Tim and Candace "Candy" McGovern's '70 began with a summer carnival. They met in June of 1968, just before Candy entered her junior year at Lauralton Hall. Their first date led to fireworks on the Fourth of July, beach walks, boat rides, band concerts, and countless afternoons together. Before long, Tim was waiting outside the gates of Lauralton every afternoon after school—a memory that Candy's classmates still recall more than five decades later. That simple act of waiting became a symbol of a lifelong partnership. Married in 1974, Tim and Candy have built a beautiful life together grounded in love, hard work, and shared adventures. Whether creating a real estate venture, documenting their travels, or embarking on a new project, everything they did carried the same
signature: "Tim & Toots." It became more than a nickname—it became a promise that whatever they undertook would be done with care, purpose, and heart. Today, that promise extends to future generations of Lauralton students. Recognizing the profound impact Lauralton had on Candy's life, Tim and Candy have chosen to leave a gift to Lauralton Hall through their estate plans. Their planned gift reflects their belief that the education, values, friendships, and Mercy tradition that shaped Candy's future should continue to shape the lives of young women for generations to come. As Candy shares, "Having a good foundation early on can make such a difference in a person's entire life." That belief inspired their decision to create a lasting legacy—one that will continue empowering young women long after their lifetime.

Smart Ways to Give There are many ways to support Lauralton Hall while also maximizing the tax benefits of your charitable giving. Whether you're planning your annual philanthropy or considering your legacy, these giving strategies may allow you to make an even greater impact.
Give from Your IRA Through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your traditional IRA to Lauralton Hall. A QCD allows you to transfer funds directly from your IRA to a qualified charity without including the distribution in your taxable income. If you are subject to a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), your QCD can also satisfy all or part of that requirement. It's a simple, tax-efficient way to support the mission of Lauralton Hall while making a lasting impact on future generations of Mercy women. Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is one of the easiest and most flexible ways to support Lauralton Hall. You can contribute cash or appreciated assets to your DAF, receive an immediate charitable tax deduction (subject to applicable tax rules), and then recommend grants to Lauralton Hall whenever it aligns with your philanthropic goals. A Legacy That Will Always Be With Us: The Kelly Anne McKeon Scholarship "If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you." —Winnie the Pooh, from A.A. Milne Those words adorned the wall of Kelly McKeon's classroom at The Academy of St. Joseph in Greenwich Village, reflecting the kind of teacher she was—kind, patient, encouraging, and deeply devoted to her students. A proud Lauralton Hall graduate of the Class of 2009, Kelly carried the values she first nurtured here into her own classroom, where she inspired young people with the same compassion and confidence she had experienced as a student. In December 2017, Kelly became suddenly ill. Despite every medical effort, she passed away on December 18 from New-Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus (N.O.R.S.E.), a rare neurological syndrome. She was just beginning a career dedicated to helping others. Kelly's family chose to honor her life in a deeply meaningful way by establishing the Kelly Anne McKeon Scholarship. Through this enduring gift, Kelly's compassion, love of learning, and commitment to others will continue to shape the lives of future Lauralton students. The scholarship is rooted in a belief in the power of education and the importance of lifting others up. In tribute to Kelly's vocation as a teacher, the family hopes the scholarship will support the daughter of a teacher in pursuing a Lauralton education. Kelly was also a member of the swim team and served as a class officer—roles that reflected her commitment, leadership, and love for her school community. As the Kelly Anne McKeon Scholarship grows toward full endowment, Kelly's legacy will live on in every young woman whose life it touches. Her compassion, generosity of spirit, and love of learning embody the Mercy values that will continue to inspire future generations of Lauralton women.
