FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear Lauralton Hall Community,
record-breaking year of giving to Lauralton Hall.
When I became Head of School two years ago, it was clear that focusing on Development and Admissions were key areas that would help accelerate Lauralton’s growth and sustainability. What I couldn’t have anticipated was the incredible receptivity and support of this community. You jumped in with both feet—serving as parent and alumnae advocates for our Admissions Office, and welcoming prospective and new families to help them feel that Lauralton is their home away from home. It is no wonder that we are about to welcome our largest freshman class in seven years!
This past year, we saw a 52% increase in the number of gifts to the Lauralton Fund, especially from new donors. One of our major goals was to broaden our donor community at every level—and we’re thrilled that so many of you recognize the value of investing in Lauralton’s mission and future. The Fund plays a vital role in enriching the student experience, providing essential resources for academics, faculty development, the arts, athletics, tuition assistance, and campus improvements. Your generosity ensures that Lauralton remains a place where young women grow into compassionate, confident leaders.
We’re especially proud of our growing endowment, which directly supports scholarships and allows us to direct more of our operating budget toward enhancing academics, student experiences, and stewardship of our historic campus. We are deeply grateful to the Sargent family for their major gift this year—a transformative investment that will strengthen the Lauralton legacy for generations to come.
It has been a joy to connect with so many wonderful alumnae this year as we reignited our Reunions on the Road, with gatherings in New York, Wellesley, Boston, and across Connecticut. We look forward to expanding these visits in the year ahead—please let us know if you would like to help host an event in your city or town!

Laurt’s Bri Fure GIFTS TO LAURALTON HALL 2024-2025 Support for Lauralton Hall in 2024–2025 came from a wide range of generous contributions that reflect the strength and spirit of our community. Gifts were made to the Lauralton Annual Fund, scholarship support, and various donor-designated funds. Signature events such as Christmas in the Mansion, Homecoming, Irish Night, the Spring Gala, and the Lauralton Golf Tournament also played an important role in our fundraising success.
In addition, contributions to named scholarships—including the Kathleen Spencer and Gerald T. Sargent Jr. Scholarship Fund, Bode Endowed Scholarship, the Chito Lucas “Keep the Faith” Scholarship, the Elsie Santangelo Scott Class of 1955 Scholarship, and the General Endowed Scholarship Fund—helped ensure that future Lauralton women continue to benefit from the gift of a Lauralton education.

Lauralton Hall Receives Historic $350,000 Gift to Support Future Students In celebration of its 120th anniversary, Lauralton received a record-setting $350,000 endowed scholarship—an extraordinary gift that will create lasting opportunities for future students for generations to come.
The Kathleen Spencer and Gerald T. Sargent Jr. Scholarship Fund was established by the Sargent children to honor their parents’ extraordinary 45-year commitment to Lauralton Hall. Kathleen Spencer Sargent, a proud member of the Class of 1958, began volunteering at Lauralton just two years after graduating. She and her husband, Gerald, remained deeply involved in the school community for decades. Having raised four boys, the Sargents are proud grandparents to Elizabeth ’16, Caroline ’18, and Summer ’27.
In a statement, the Sargent family shared, “Lauralton Hall has been a constant presence in our parents’ lives. It would be hard to imagine a greater believer in Lauralton Hall’s mission than our mother. We felt the school’s 120th anniversary was the perfect time to honor our parents’ dedication and provide a lasting legacy for future students.”
The endowed scholarship will offer the 2025–2026 school year, providing opportunities to students who may not otherwise be able to attend.
“This historic gift is a transformative investment in the future of our students and our mission,” said Head of School Beth Coyne. “It speaks to the profound belief in the power of young women and the enduring legacy of Lauralton Hall.”
