Bursaries Appeal 2020/2021 Support this year’s appeal to provide opportunities for more young people
Every Gift Makes an Impact The Bursaries Appeal is our community fundraising effort which, each year, aims to give the opportunity of a Latymer education to five more young people, for entry the following September. It is a key component of the Inspiring Minds campaign, which seeks to provide bursaries for up to one in four bright children from all walks of life by the Foundation’s 400th anniversary in 2024. Since the Inspiring Minds Campaign launched in 2014
£2,784,609 has been donated to the Bursaries Appeal by

A great number of these gifts are less than

yet every gift makes a huge impact on a young person’s life.

In these challenging times, the need for financial aid for next year's applicants will be greater than ever. Please help us to meet that need.
As a school, we aim to fill our classrooms with the brightest students who inspire each other and enrich our School community. The only criteria for entry to Latymer should be ability and potential and our fundraising efforts will make that a reality.

A Latymer education can have a long-term transformative impact on a young person’s life, as well as the lives of their family. These Latymerians were in receipt of a bursary, and have been inspired by their education to give back to society.
Sabina (2014)
Kaine (2015)
Sabina studied Art History at the Courtauld, and is now an art teacher. She has just completed a Foundation in Art Therapy, and is incorporating this into her teaching. Sabina is passionate about art’s power to improve mental health, and is planning to study for a Masters in Integrated Arts Psychotherapy. This will include using many art forms, such as dance and puppetry, to help people who may have suffered trauma or have mental health issues.
Kaine studied Economics at Bristol University. After working as a Management Consultant upon leaving university, he has recently joined the Treasury as an Assistant Economist. In his new role, which he started in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic and during the associated economic crisis, he enjoys feeling that he is helping to make a difference in the lives of so many people across the country.
My bursary meant absolutely everything to me. My parents wanted the best for me, but couldn’t afford it. Latymer was an introduction to so much, and gave me the confidence I needed. Latymer opened doors to everything, and put me on the path I’m on today.
The bursary I received completely changed my life. I gained confidence and a belief in myself to trust that my ideas were worthy of sharing. The environment at school, which pushed and supported me, opened my eyes to the possibilities of what I could achieve both in the classroom and beyond.
