"Bolsas de Navidad" Concept & Design by Christy Martinez-Garcia ~ This month's cover demonstrates the content of the original Christmas bags given each holiday. While the candy has changed, the concept includes an orange, an apple, peanuts, hard candy, and candy canes. These bags were given after church or at the Pancho Claus event held by the American G.I. Forum. The event has evolved and now includes bike and car clubs, and various groups committed to bringing Christmas cheer to children. And of course, I include La Virgen de Guadalupe as we also observe this special day on December 12th. During the Posadas, we would celebrate with hot chocolate, and pan dulce, and receive these awesome bags!
