Louisiana Tech is 9-2 this season and coming off a 3-1 weekend against Missouri State (Feb. 23-25). >> This weekend will mark the second consecutive year that the Bulldogs will participate in the Purple and Gold Challenge hosted by LSU. >> Through 11 games this season, the Bulldogs have outscored opponents 79-31 while totaling 102 hits, 26 doubles and six home runs. >> Opponents are hitting .199 against the Bulldogs’ pitching staff in 2024. LA Tech holds a team ERA of 2.03 and a .92 WHIP. Tech ranks ninth nationally in team strikeout-to-walk ratio at 4.43. >> Allie Floyd leads LA Tech in innings pitched (32.0) and strikeouts (27) this season while owning a 0.88 ERA. She has a 4-0 record and two saves this season. Floyd was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 26 after pitching 14 shutout innings in which she struck out ten, and allowed five hits and no walks while picking up a pair of victories in the circle and limiting opponents to a .109 on-base percentage in two appearances against Missouri State. Floyd ranks seventh nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (13.5) and 11th nationally in saves (2). >> Center fielder Alexis Gilio was scorching hot at the plate in the Bulldogs’ five games last week. The Colorado native batted .550 with 11 hits, two doubles, three RBI, four runs scored, and two stolen bases. Gilio recorded multiple hits in all four games of the Dogs’ series against Missouri State (Feb. 23-25). She leads LA Tech with a .545 batting average which ranks ninth nationally. >> Sophomore Alannah Rogers has broke onto the scene this season. The Surprise, Ariz., product is batting .538 with seven hits, six runs scored, six RBI and eight walks. She has reached base in 11-consecutive games and has reached in 15 of her 21 plate appearances this season. >> The Bulldogs are 9-0 this season in games started by an opposing right-handed pitcher. >> Claire Raley leads the Bulldogs with three home runs. She is just one shy of her single-season high of four which she set in 2023 at Utah State. >> Head Coach Josh Taylor and staff added four transfers this offseason: Alexis Gilio (BYU), Nicole Hammoude (Cal), Claire Raley (Utah State) and Aubree Seaney (Oregon State/Tulsa). >> LA Tech is led by head coach Josh Taylor who is 80-46 in three seasons at Tech and 313-214 in his career, with prior stops at Nevada (2017-2021) and Feather River College (2009-2012). >>
