BULLDOG STORYLINES & PROJECTED STARTERS
• Playing the same team twice during non-conference is not very common. The last time LA Tech did it was in 2012 when the Bulldogs played Little Rock a home-and-home that same season. The last time the Bulldogs played the same non-con opponent in back-to-back contests was 2006 versus Southern. • LA Tech struggled offensively in its last outing at Indiana State, falling 60-51. The Bulldogs did enough defensively, holding the Sycamores to just 33.3 percent shooting and limiting them to a season low in points. However, LA Tech could not capitalize on the offensive end, shooting 28.8 percent from the floor with only two made threes while missing nine of its 20 free throw attempts.

• LA Tech has hosted a multi-team event three times since 2014 (also co-hosted one in 2021 with Northwestern State). The Bulldogs have won 12 straight MTE games over the last four seasons, including a 3-0 record last year at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida with wins over Southern Illinois, Richmond, and Eastern Kentucky.

• Louisiana Tech is set to host a multi-team event inside the Thomas Assembly Center this week, starting with a rematch against Indiana State on Wednesday night. Alcorn State will be the third team involved in the round robin.

• Scooter Williams registered the first double-double of the season for the Bulldogs, tallying 23 points and 11 boards against the Sycamores. He became just the fourth LA Tech guard in the last 10 years with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds in a single game (first since Keaston Willis, 2023).

• LA Tech has now held three straight opponents to under 35 percent shooting, limiting all three to 60 or fewer points. As a result, the Bulldogs are only allowing 55.8 points per contest, giving them the No. 1 scoring defense in the country currently.

• The Bulldogs pulled down 50 rebounds against the Sycamores, marking the third straight game with 50+ boards. It is the first time in at least 40 years that LA Tech has reached that rebounding mark in three consecutive contests. The team currently ranks eighth in the nation in rebounds per game at 46.25.

• Will Jeffress saw his most playing time since returning from a season-ending knee injury. The forward came off the bench to play 25 minutes, posting 11 points and eight rebounds (most action since playing 33 minutes at UT Arlington on Nov. 9, 2024). • It is practically a brand new roster for LA Tech as 10 newcomers joined the squad, including eight transfers and two high school signees. It has become the new norm in college basketball and the Bulldogs are no different, having averaged 8.7 newcomers per season over the last three years. The 10 years before that, LA Tech averaged just 5.1 newcomers per season. • Talvin Hester enters his fourth season at the helm at LA Tech. In his third year, Hester guided the Bulldogs to a 20-win season, marking the 30th time in program history the team has reached 20+ victories. This was the second straight season Hester led the team to 20 wins, going 22-10 in 2013-14. As a result, he became the seventh head coach in program history to register back-toback 20-win seasons.
