• Daniel Batcho was named Conference USA Player of the Week in week one after averaging 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game during LA Tech’s 2-0 week. He registered 15 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks against LSU followed by a career-high 28 points (10-of-12 shooting), seven boards, and two rejections at UTA. The CUSA Preseason Player of the Year is shooting 86.4 percent from the field (19-of-23), which ranks fifth in the country. He has also just missed two free throws, making 15 of his 17 attempts. • Talvin Hester enters his third season at the helm at LA Tech. In his second year, Hester was able to blend in seven newcomers in route to a 22-win season and a second-place finish in CUSA. He will be tasked with the same thing as seven newcomers join the 2024-25 squad, mixed in with six returners (five of which made a combined 67 starts last season). • LA Tech was picked to finish first in the Conference USA preseason poll, as voted on by the league head coaches. It was definitely not unanimous as five of the 10 conference teams picked up at least one first-place vote and the top three were separated by only four points. This marks the first time since 2014 that the Bulldogs are preseason league favorites.
