A LA TECH WIN... • LA Tech would improve to 1-0 all-time versus LSUA. The Bulldogs are playing four opponents this season for the very first time in program history. • Would give the Bulldogs their 18th straight win in a home opener. LA Tech is 37-5 all-time in home openers inside the Thomas Assembly Center. • Would give the Bulldogs their sixth straight win in a season opener played at home. The last loss in such a game came in 1997.

• Louisiana Tech gets the 2024-25 season underway on Monday night when the Bulldogs play host to the LSU-Alexandria Generals inside the Thomas Assembly Center. The Nov. 4 matchup will mark the earliest game played in LA Tech history. • It will be a busy first month for the Bulldogs as they are set to play eight games (three at home, four at neutral sites, and one away) in November, which ties the most in program history. The only other time LA Tech played eight games in November was during the 2012-13 season.

• Even though LA Tech has opened its season at home in four of the last nine years, it is actually a pretty rare thing. The Bulldogs have only started their season at home five times since the turn of the century. • LA Tech was picked to finish first in the Conference USA preseason poll, as voted on by the league head coaches. It was definitely not unanimous as five of the 10 conference teams picked up at least one first-place vote and the top three were separated by only four points. This marks the first time since 2014 that the Bulldogs are preseason league favorites. • The Bulldogs only got one player on the 10-person preseason All-Conference USA team, but it was a big one in Daniel Batcho who was also voted as the CUSA Preseason Player of the Year. Last season, the forward was named CUSA Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-CUSA, and CUSA All-Defensive Team after averaging 15.2 points while leading the league and ranking top 25 in the country in both rebounds per game (9.8) and blocks per game (2.4). This marks the second straight year a Bulldog was voted CUSA Preseason Player of the Year (Isaiah Crawford, 2023-24). • Another key returner for LA Tech is point guard Sean Newman Jr. who was an Honorable Mention All-CUSA selection last season. In his first year with the Bulldogs, he led the team and the league in total assists with 146, the 15th most in a single season in program history, as well as in assists per game at 5.2 (ranked 42nd in the country).

GAME 1 MATCHUP

• Third-year head coach Talvin Hester was able to blend in seven newcomers in 2023-24 in route to a 22-win season and a second-place finish in CUSA. He will be tasked with the same thing as seven newcomers join the 2024-25 squad, mixed in with six returners (five of which made a combined 67 starts last season). • LA Tech won’t be quite as old as they were in 2023-24 with five seniors, all of which were in at least their fifth year of college basketball. The Bulldogs will still be a veteran club in 2024-25 though as 10 of the 13 players are upperclassmen (five are in at least their fourth year of college basketball). Will Allen is the oldest of the bunch at 24 years of age. • The Bulldogs lost 61 percent of their scoring from last year’s team, primarily due to the departures of starters Isaiah Crawford, CUSA Player of the Year and CUSA Defensive Player of the Year, and Tahlik Chavez, Third Team All-CUSA. The two graduates combined to average 30.2 points per game last season.
