For an extended period, the African American church maintained a reserved stance on the topic of self-expression and artistic worth. It seemed as though the
church was unaware of a creative deity. However, in recent years, a growing number of creative individuals, nurtured within the church, have been encouraged
to step out of the shadows and embrace their unique creative brilliance.
